Hotel-Pension Sonnenhof - Igls, Innsbruck

A great place for people seeking a nice hotel with quiet and beautiful surroundings.

Dislike: Items that are part of the hotel description are not free: Internet is €4 per hour! And breakfast is €7 per person. The Parkhotel Igls has free wifi though. Like: The hotel feels very countryside, good to escape the city. It is very clean and well looked after. The room was comfy and it provided a very good night's rest. The balcony has a great view.

Beautiful surroundings and quiet area right next to excellent hiking path. Didn't realize there would be no soap/shampoo (luckily we had some already)...but there is a store in town if you forget to bring some. If the room doesn't come with breakfast, don't bother buying from the hotel (not worth the 7 euros); there is a bakery in town and Innsbruck is very close.

Our group consisted of 3 adults and 2 large dogs so we were happy to find that our "triple" room was spacious enough for all of us! Our balcony afforded great views of the mountains and the walking paths through the nearby fields were perfect for exercising the dogs. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions.

Very resonable price and good quality

This is a very pleasant hotel for a short stay in the Innsbruck area. We stayed in the Summer and used it as a local base to explore. It has easy access to Innsbruck itself and other main roads allowing easy travel in the area. Igls itself is a very pleasant quiet little town in Summer and has a few restaurants thus avoding the need to venture far in the evenings unless real nightlife is desired. The hotel itself is good and the breakfasts were excellent. Our room was very spacious with a great balcony. I would happily recommend this hotel to friends.

Very good accommodation not far from Innsbruck and easily accessible by bus/tram. Owner very helpful and family room largely suitable for three adults and a baby (cot provided).

We enjoyed our stay at Sonnenhof. The room was nice and quiet. The beds were comfortable. The hallways were a little tired, but it is a ski resort in the winter and that can be tough on the furnishings. The surroundings were beautiful and there were wonderful trails to hike. We would like to stay in the area again and try the trams into the city. Nice breakfast.

My husband and I booked a ski trip for Christmas, and Igls was the perfect destination for us. We walked from our hotel to the rental place and then to the lifts. Being a small town, we expected (and were informed so) that every eatery in town would be closed for the holidays. We acquired reservations for Christmas Eve dinner in town, but sought reservations in Innsbruck for Christmas dinner (only 3.40 EUR for a quick bus ride into the city). We were pleasantly surprised to find the local pizzeria open on Christmas, which saved us the bus fare and made it very easy. The hotel was a nice place to stay - clean and welcoming - although we didn't sleep very well. The rooms stayed rather hot throughout the night and the down comforters on the bed were too warm. We still enjoyed our stay, but it could have been better if we'd been better rested. Breakfast was bountiful and filling, lots of breads. The coffee machine provides several options so you can have the cup of your choice. There were several tea options available, too. The rooms were not fitted with either, though, and our double room only had one glass for my husband and I to share. The owners were quite accomodating, when we could find them. We bought a bottle of wine in town, and when we asked for a bottle opener, the gentleman offered us proper wine glasses as well. The library and fitness center they say they offer left much to be desired. From what I could find, there was a couple of stacks of books which must have passed for the library, and the fitness center was a ping pong table with a few pieces of very old work out equipment beside it - an old rower, an old stationary bike, and a couple other antiquated contrapments. I didn't even try them, even though I had partly based my decision on this amenity. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but will probably opt for a different hotel in the future, since our rest on holiday is important.

The hotel is both quiet and beautifully located in the stunning village of Igls. What can I say the pictures do not do justice to this location. It is stunning.

Well established bed and breakfast guesthouse, with average facilities, well located, but slightly off the beaten track, with suberb views of the Alps. Quite suitable for an overnight.

Albergo carino e tranquillo, a 5 minuti di macchina da Innsbruck. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, ci tornerò sicuramente.

We were in Igls for vacation on the way back to France, not far away from Neu Schwanstein to visit the castle, very close to Innsbruck center, easy to go with the tram.
