We did not expect such a beautiful room. We were 4 pp in a double room with an open sofa. And still have space to move around. The bathroom in big but the shower is a bit dirty. If you looked closely the floor wans't very clean. The sofa bed was hard and uncomfortable, but the queen bed was great! Breakfast buffet, average like any other hotel. There are two ways to get to the hotel, uphill dark. Good if you have a car.

This is a mixed emotion review. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. On our arrival we got room number 101 which was the worst room at the hotel: windows pointing to the hoteal terrace at ground level therefore curtains and windows need to be shut for privacy, adding an unpleasant odur makes this room sufocating and dark. We asked to change a room and were declined by the clerk without even checking if there are other rooms available. The next morning we asked to checkout and only then we were offered a better room. This room was pointing towards the highway and was noisy all day long. Had to keep the windows shut. The bathroom wasn't cleaned at all during our stay. Breakfast was ok, nothing more. The staff consisted of many clerks, several were informant and spoke english, the rest were the opposite. WiFi interenet isn't available inside rooms due to poor reception, there's an internet PC at the lobby but the connection is very slow. The only point of light in our experience here was two staff memebers who were extremely nice and did their best to make our stay pleasnt. Unfortuneately we will not return to this place nor recommend it to our friends.

Beautiful hotel, well positioned, close to Florence, with an adiacent restaurant. Very kind employees. The cleanliness of rooms is not so good: a lot of dust. For the rooms toward Florence a lot of noise from the underlying highway with opened windows.

This hotel was exactly as described. It was very clean, rooms were good size and the breakfast was a great start to the day. The location was beautiful and away from the busy city of Florence. We had a car and GPS. It was a little hard to find but we did it during the day light which helped. The staff was pleasant and very helpful.

Otherwise very good place to stay, but the restaurant at the ground floor of hotel causes untolerable noise atleast untill midnight to the rooms above. During night time no english speaking personel were present. The Tavrnuzze village does not have any other restaurants except one pizzeria.

La ubicación del hotel muy buena, vistas estupendas desde la habitación. Relación calidad precio excelente. Desayuno algo pobre, el café de máquina autoservicio no era bueno. El resto muy bien.

My wife and i stayed for four days in September and were very pleased.A good hotel for access to Florence - by car. Difficult to find but the location makes up for that. We missed the turning off the main road and our sat nav tokk us in a very roundabout way along a cart track! Staff very friendly with limited english but better than our italian. The restaurant beside the hotel is very good with friendly staff and not very expensive by Florence standards.

A fine hotel near Florence, but outside the traffic and noise. It offers a good location for excursions into Florence and for sightseeing in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable with very good air conditioning. We have stayed in this hotel several times over the past few years and plan to return. A very good value.

Ideale per una o due notti. irrangiungibile e privo di ristorante. quello adiacente, consigliato dal personale, è esageratamente costoso.

Nice rooms in a good location, not far from Florence. The view on the Tuscan hills is definitively a plus. I put a 5 on quietness because there was a wedding going in the restaurant bellow our room on the third night... The other nights were great.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at in Italy! Very beautiful surroundings high upon a hill just outsied Florence. Easy to reach city by 20 minute local bus ride. Staff very helpful. Great breakfast and excellent restaurant next to hotel. Also, great restaurant just down the hill. Room was nice and very clean - but not as large with the canopy bed as shown in the photos. Funky antiques in the common areas give the place a warm feel. Best to have a car to stay here. Drive to hotel is up a rather steep hill and would be a good 20 minute walk to the bus-stop. Once up on the hill, walking around the area is really pleasant - quite little wooded residential area - pretty villas and cottages. If you are on the side over the highway, gets a little noisy at night if you have the windows open. Don't try to mapquest or google map, ect. -just follow the written directions exactly to Cassia Road (Via Cassia SS2) then in about 1 or 2 KM exit is a bit hidden on you left just after a sign on your right then pretty much a 180 turn and up the hill. Over all, we loved our stay - so pleasant! We recommend highly.

Although, we did not eat at the hotel, other guest noted the food was good. The hospitality of the front desk staff was excellent. Especially Enzo. Very helpful with directions and places to see. Local favorite suggestions for food and drink were very good. The staff provided maps and good directions. Nice views. Our room faced the Autostrada highway which was a little noisy, but the hotel is hillside making the car noise tolerable. Good location for day travel to Pisa and just south of Florence.

We only stayed for a single night. The hotel fully met our expectations. The owners greeted us on arrival and were very kind and attentive. Our room view over the hills was beautiful. There is a very good restaurant aside the hotel. We did not have any trouble finding the hotel because we had a car and a GPS. Otherwise I believe it would not have been easy.

Very nice hill-top hotel overlooking Tavarnuzze and surroundings (with the highway ruining it a little). Very clean and modern rooms. Easy to find from highway, when following instructions. Somewhat difficult to get to Tavarnuzze from Firenze through the street maze (but follow general direction for Siena). Trust other commentors: orange juice is really horrible! Otherwise breakfast ok to good. Tavarnuzze is a fine base to explore surroundings of Firenze (very close to highways) like Siena, Chianti, San Gimignano, Volterra, Cortona, Pisa (and others I'm sure we missed). 10-minute by car to Firenze, but parking is often a challenge in town. Bus may be better. Overall, we loved our stay at Villa Ambrosina and recommend it to our friends.

First time stay. Easy to find but hairy turning in off the road. Lovely view out of the room window but somewhat spoiled by distant motorway, constantly jammed, plus faint traffic noise. Though close to Florence, traffic makes it hard to get in by car in under half an hour. Breakfast wasn't terribly good. There is an independent restaurant on the site, which is well worth it; friendly waiters, good food.

We paid really low price for such an hotel. real price of the rooms is around 150 Euros. A bit hard to locate as outside of the city, on kind of a small "hill", when you look for it , you really fera you are lost. But it is worth looking for!

We have stayed in this hotel on 3 separate occasions during thre last 6 months. While the size of the rooms vary from quite spacious to smaller in size, all are clean with comfoirtable beds. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location on the outskirts of Florence is very good for those wishing to use public transportation to go into Florence or to a your car to tour the Chianti Classico region. A very good deal for the money.

A wonderful view of Florence and Tuscan hills. It comes with a price of being out in the suburbs on the top of a very steep hill. Unless an adventurous and fit traveler, only stay here if you have a car. Make sure to get good directions before leaving, though, as it is not the easiest place to find. With that said, it was a wonderful stay with helpful people. The restaurant has a tremendous view, impeccable service (Francesco was our favorite), great food and wine, and fair pricing.

Not easy to find, check for the hotel indication on Cassia road near the tratoria (locanda dei scoperti). Change our room for a bigger one with a slight additionnal charge. Personnel very helpfull, a good restaurant is available in the same building. We also have lunch in Impruneta center: the Bellavista albergo ristorante; very good staff, food and view.

We spent 3 nights, arriving after 9pm but there was no fuss made.(i Had sent an email informing them of a possible late arrival). It is a very italian hotel with mainly italian goups staying. The facilities were as described on the web and the people really helpful. I had to park in another parking lot which was a pain but every thing else was, in relation to the price paid, fine. They seemd to put the foreigners at the back and keep the large groups in the fron together which most probably suited eberyone.

This was our first and last stay at Hotel Villa Ambrosina. We were given a room which had no resemblance to any room on their website. The room had mould on the walls, cobwebs on the ceiling, dust hanging down form the corners, rust in the bathroom, an old bed with bedsprings sticking into your back at night and a horrible smell - the smell of mould. Due to the bad smell, I did not try to use the cupboard in the room, which smelled just as bad. We checked out after one night. The room could have passed for a 1 star youth hostel room. Reception claimed to have only had that one room avialable and to have got our confirmed booking too late at night to still give us a better room. After checking in we went to an internet cafe and tried booking a double room via venere again for that same night. According to the reservation system, they did have rooms available. In our opinion, that means that they were not telling us the truth. We think they offer affordable rooms on Venere to lure you to the hotel. When you then get there, they claim to not have any rooms left and put you in these horrible rooms as an emergency measure. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and we travel a lot, especially to Italy. We will never go back here. Due to the rooms and due to their lack of honesty.

The best hotel we stayed in during our 17-day vacation in Italy and Switzerland! Thanks to the staff and proprietors of Villa Ambrosina. The photos of the property are right on the mark. It's worth visiting Tuscany just to stay here! On a special note, the Florence American Cemetary (WWII U.S. soldiers killed in action are buried here) is located about 5 minutes away; it's a very moving reminder of those brave souls who died defending freedom.

Once we located the Hotel, with the help of a local motorist, who told us to follow her in our car from the Supermarket Car Park, and having negotiated the steep and narrow approach road, our stay was superb! Would recommend the Restaurant beneath the Hotel. Our room was superb, with views towards Florence. Buffet Breakfast simple, but perfectly adequate, in lovely Breakfast Room. We visited Florence twice, by using the local bus (tickets- Euro 4.50 for two people return - can be bought in the Tabac adjacent to bus stop in Square) - don't even think about taking your car, as buses run until half past midnight from Florence. (night service, after 2130, has different route number though). Quite a challenging walk from the Square back up to the Hotel! But this would not put us off using the Hotel again, as it really was first class.

Decisamente eccellente.
