We stayed at the peak season for this island. There were not too much less expensive choices than San Marco. So We can conclude that Mykonos is not the best place if you are travelling on the money. Yet, there are surprises like San Marco hotel, were they give you a 4 star treatment at a 3 star price. Staff, rooms, and the hotel itself is great. The only improvement needed is the shower (manual in a narrow tub), but not impossible. Breakfast is Ok. They went to the port to take us to the hotel, even though we arrived 2 hours later (in greece almost no ferries are on time). The only drawback is that the hotel is far (5 km) from Mykonos town, and 10 Km from the best beaches. They provide a free service that will take you to Mykonos town every hour... But is not enough. My recommendation is to book this hotel and rent scooters or a car. Problem solved for a very good price.
