Quiet room, shower over bath although high sides made it a little difficult to climb in and out. Staff super friendly and helpful, good location and a short walk to the markets.

Room was great, although hotel was difficult to find down very narrow alleyway. Staff seemed very friendly and helpful. BUT DO NOT USE the safe if the combination isn't working. We made the mistake of putting our valuables in the safe which only worked with the room key. The receptionist asked us to leave the key when we went out. Only discovered a day later when we had moved onto Hoi An that we had had a significant amount of money stolen from the safe. The bundles of dong didn't look depleted until we actually counted them out. Unfortunate and very disappointing lesson.....

Sometimes it is hard to expect when booking on line in Vietnam. I was glad that I stayed at Saigon Mini Hotel during my last trip in Oct 2010. There are many things that I can write about and I will be brief: a) The welcoming environment and the friendly atmosphere were quite evident and I love the staff and the way they deal and interact with clients. I actually miss the staff when I left. It was really a home away from for me during this last trip and I am thankful for that. b) The surrounding was great. If one really wants to understand life in Ho Chi Minh City, this is a perfect place to stay. It provides a closer touch to how "normal people" live there. There are many places to eat and to shop without having to pay the outrageous prices. You can also change money and buy your new SIM card for cell phone services within walking distance. Taxi and "XE OM" services are also available right next to the hotel.I felt quite safe during my time there and that was important to me. c) The breakfast was simple but sufficient for one to get ready for the day. Guests can get their Vietnamese Pho or traditional Western breakfast with eggs and bread or toasts. The coffee is wonderfully Vietnamese. I did not plan to stay there for my entire time in Vietnam but I changed my plan because I found it relaxing and comforting to be there. So gives it a try if you need a place to stay and please say "hi" to my new extended family there :)

First, I must say this hotel is EXCELLENT! All the workers are very kind and helpful. Their service is amazing. For example, I forgot my transformer, PC cable, and a few things. But, they found and kept them. They also sent me a kind email about this matter immediately. That's amazing! I think this hotel is the best of my experience (even include Japanese hotels). And the facilities are also enough for me. Especially, free wi-fi access helped me to continue my work. Good location to the famous market(15 min. walk). I can't explain all with my poor English. I strongly recommend this hotel. I never forget their smile. (I'm Japanese and this is the first trip to Vietnam.)

Very clean & functional rooms.Staff are very helpful & friendly, even if their English is limited. However, front desk staff have reasonably good English skills who have no prob with effective communication. Compared to other similar hotels in the area, room rates are on the higher side, but still reasonable. Quite child friendly as well. Definitely recommend it friends & families, even if it's for business travel.

We stayed at the Saigon Mini Hotel for 3 nights, it is a comfortable accomodation with a nice functional bathroom. We found the staff on reception and the bell boys (security) to be very helpful and they booked trips for us during our short stay, which were very good. There is free internet in the lobby and free wifi, which works well. Some speak very little english, but they make up for it in smiles and laughter (our lady on reception in particular!) A great hotel for close proximity to the backpacker district where there are plenty of bars/restaurants, some great for people watching (Go Go Bar) Its also easy and cheap to get a taxi to other districts and the hotel staff can arrange these for you. Just one important point always use Mai Linh or Vinasun Taxis and be careful as some private companies look considerably similar to Mai Linh.

Enjoyed our stay even though it rained for the entire period (2 days). We booked a day trip through the hotel to see the local sites with a guide which we thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel even provided free of charge an umbrella each. Excellent restaurant just round the corner called 'Blooms' this we would highly recommend.

The reason why I booked this hotel was thanks to the reviews found on TripAdvisor. Room was decent in size for two and more importantly clean AND there's free internet and PC usage. NO major complains about this small warm hotel except that the keys kept getting stuck in the door knob AND there was a power cut around 4-6 a.m two days in a row!! Not too happy about that. Was a afraid it might go off on the day we were leaving as we had an early flight to catch. The front desk could not provide a proper explaination about the power cut. Besides that, no complains and we enjoyed our stay.

Very good location within comfortable walking distance from Ben Thanh market. Our room was smaller than expected but reasonably comfortable and clean. Most staff members were very kind and welcoming. The only disappointment would be the noise issue. It's a small hotel and the noise from the street is not an issue as the hotel is located off the main road. It's the hotel staff who starts to run around and talk loudly very early in the morning. Other than that, quite satisfied with the hotel.

The staff were all superb, extremely professonal and helpful. The hotel offers good value for money. My only negative comment is the volume of the walkie-talkies the staff use is very high and will definitely wake you in the morning if they are in the corridor.

It was the first time I stayed at this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. It has everything of bigger hotels with really friendly staff. The only thing was that the room was a bit small, but it was very clean and nicely furnished. Will definitely go there again.

We enjoyed it that much we went back 7 days later for another 3 nights. The hotel was well situated for cheap eats, walking the streets of saigon, getting to and from popular tourists spot and overall bloody good value. Our cab rides to and from the airport only took between 30 to 40 mins and were ever so entertaining!!!. The included breakfast was also very adequate. All the staff were so very helpful and informative. We will be back when we continue our next chapter of discoveries in Vietnam.

We stayed in SMH on two different occasions during our trip to Vietnam. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice, clean bathroom. We also booked flight tickets through the front desk staff and everything went really well. No complaints whatsoever. The rooms were maybe a bit pricey by Vietnamese standards compared with other (nicer) destinations, but perhaps that can be expected in a big city. We can still definitely recommend this friendly, clean and reliable hotel.

I stayed in Ho Chi Minh City for 3 days, which was plenty of time to check out major attraction sites nearby. This was also a great location for booking day trips/tours to nearby towns outside of HCM, whether it be through the hotel or through other agencies around District 1 in the Backpacker's District.

The Saigon Mini Hotel was excellent value for money. Friendly service, good, clean rooms and the staff were helpful with any questions about HCM and when booking a tour to Cu Chi Tunnels and for taxis to and from the airport. It is located near the backpacker district, so there are lots of restaurants and bars nearby, and the 'Old' part of Saigon with most of the tourist sites is only a 10-15 walk away. I highly recommend Saigon Mini Hotel if you are planning to stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

This was a great little place to stay on my 3 day trip to Ho Chi Minh City. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful! Plus, I liked the fact that I could book my tours right through the front desk. The breakfast was basic but functional and it was prepared efficiently. My only complaint was the location, as the alleyway was a popular "destination" for locals to come and eat and hang out. This made for an excessive amount of noise that I could hear - clear as day - from my room that first nite, well into the wee hours of the morning! I didn't complain, but would have if I'd had a similar situation the next nite (which I didn't). But I would still recommend this hotel!

A rather quiet hotel situated inside an alley off the main street. Location is good if you want to avoid the noise. The area is relatively safe and close to the main backpackers area. Staff are very friendly and helpful and most speak good English. The room I stayed in Saigon Mini 1 was not very spacious but was quite clean with the basic amenities in place. Overall, I feel that it is a good choice.

There were ants on windown frame to floor.(from outside). I was bit by ants when sleep. The hotel ladies were good, but when i called them urgently for help. They found a man to us. And he wanted to spray "pesticide" when we stayed in room. Which will hurt us for sure. i stopped him and asked other service ladies to cleaned the floor first. However, not good experiences.

Very reluctant to fill out this questionaire. On arrival at airport i discovered that $aud90 had been stolen from my luggage in room.I realise that it is my responsibility to safeguard cash but that money had travelled all over Viet Nam in that hidden compartment. There is no doubt whatsoever that it was missplaced because the prior evening to checking out we double checked our belongings.I reported this to hotel reception so they would know there was a thief on their staff. They were very shocked to hear that(or so it seemed)and said that their manager or director would contact me.as of this day i have heard nothing, maybe your company should contact them just in case there is some conspiracy

This hotel is a little bit expensive for Saigon but it is located in a quiet alley that helps you to sleep. AVOID room 105 wich is situated basically in the noisy dining room. Employees are doing their best to make you enjoy your stay. I would go back.

This was our first time to HCMC, and the Mini Hotel. We booked this based on good reviews from prior travellers, as well as the fact that it was a newer hotel, and very reasonably priced. We knew that it would be a small, boutique feel, and wanted that as well, and we got exactly what we expected. Very nice and competent staff, a nice little breakfast in the small cafe, free internet, a clean room with a mini bar if we needed drinks (which we did, due to the humid weather!). It was off the main drag, yet we could walk to the popular Pham Nga Lao area. HCMC is a very noisy city, so beware of the surround sound, even from your hotel room.
