The distance to the beach and bus stop is difficult to walk because is very uphill and an unfortunate incident with payment at checkout made us miss our ferry. Oh, and they charge you extra for the A/C which is completely necessary during summer

Decent place, though nothing extraordinary. We stayed only two nights, a quick stop-over on our Greece and Italy tour. The rooms were clean, and the bathroom was big enough (though certainly small by American standards). The toilet didn't flush very well, though, and you couldn't flush toilet paper (though I hear this is common on Crete).

Really lovely place, lucky to have a ground floor room tucked away. No full on direct sea view but ideal for out needs as private. Loved the mountain behind us - gosts and sheep were on it. Really is steep - would not have like to have been in newer apartments at top as walk up and down to main pool and road would have been too much. Liked selection of pools - meant there was no crowding. We chose the top pool so we were away from toddlers. Social side did not look that welcoming as most spoke Dutch, reception staff helpful not not over joyous. Hersonissos not great but only went once. Bars overlooked fairly busy road. Nothing on main strip authenticly greek. Shop keepers too keen to drag you in and make you spend. Main attraction of resort were outstanding gardens and maintenance of them plus the room cleaniness and maid service. Film channel in english as well. Taxi only 30 min so great.

There are three pools, the middle one is the largest but a lack of sun umbrellas needs to be addressed especially in 33 degree temperatures.Another problem is the horrible beds. Base is made of CONCRETE which might not be so bad if a mattress with some padding was available, Springs sticking through the covering. We asked for a new mattress but none available, we were offered another apartment but at a much larger cost. The guy on reception couldn't care less about the clients. Dosn't know how to smile.

Everything was excellent from all points of view. Great pool! And a very cosy maisonette. Still, it was difficult to find our way to the hotel as the directions in your web were neither clear nor exact.

The staff is very helpful to explain what you can visit and where you can find fun. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Out of the rooms there is a lovely little space with table and chair where you can relax to the shadow and the cretan wind. The shadow is cleanliness of course...they clean three times a week and not so good.

An excellent hotel, within a couple of minutes walk from a lovely village with dozens of tavernas. There is a supermarket also within two minutes walk. The pools at the hotel are great but the beach is a very long walk down an exceedingly steep road.I would recommend you hire a car, reception can arrange this at reasonable rates. If you opt for cabs, expect to pay about EUR30 to get to Heraklion Airport.

We had trouble getting to hersonissos and to the property but someone came to collect us off the streets we were wondering. It was an amazing vacation, the rooms are very spacious, I personally was extatic about the garden that opens from the door of the rooms. It was like we stayed in a botanical garden. Great place, great for children, for young and old couples as well. Pool area very large, very clean, the view from the pool amazing.

We're young couple with one yaear old child. We got an upgrade to newly constructed part of the village thats looks much better than older ones. There is no entertainment in this village, playroom doesn't clean, so you can't use it. The hotel located high and a bit far from the sea, but view from a pool is great. When your rent a car its does not matter. For a car in the internet you can get better price. We rented at AUTOPAPAS company C class Nissan TIILDA for 26 euro a day, a car waited us in the airport, I should mention that when I have some problem with a car, I got new one in a half an hour. I highly recommend this company. The hotel is relatively cheap so for this price I'll recomend it.

It's very nice and confortable, not too far from Hersonissos, but you need a car to go to the see, becuase is it a little bit far and when you came back is hard because the road is uphill and the beaches are very busy, so is it better to take the car and go to other beaches. The same is for the night life, even if you can take a taxi to go to the centre for 6 euros. The Marni Village is perfect beacuse is located in a lovely village with many bars, restourants, shops and it's quite with a wonderful view to the see, it's beautiful!

Very suited place to stay with children. Beautiful gardens & pool areas. The location is also good; sights of Crete within easy reach by car while the small surrounding villages are nice to spend the evenings in. Would recommend Marni village to others.

From the welcome when we finally arrived from a late flight to the courtesy shown as we checked out this was a really pleasant stay. The only criticisms are that we found the directions somewhat confusing (thanks to the friendly locals for their support) and the steps down into the kitchen in the unit we had could be dangerous for small children (or ancient adults like me!)

Nice location but beach and sea a fair walk. This is compensated by the amazing shops and restaurants which a just a short stroll away. Very friendly pool bar, great coffee and bacon rolls! Would most certainly visit Marni Village again.

Our stay in Marni Village was one of our favorite in all of Greece. The property is beautifully manicured and maintained and the staff was warm and welcoming. We went pretty late in the season (first week of September), but there was still much going on as far as activities and guests. The little village where it's located is lovely with several great restaurants. However, you are close enough to the larger town (FULL OF NIGHTLIFE) if you'd prefer that type of vacation. One thing to note for American travelers, they do have air conditioning, but you must pay a (very reasonable) fee of around 3 Euros a day. I'd definitely recommend Marni Village to friends and fellow guests.

Marni Village is located 28km from the port. One needs a car anyway to enjoy Crete. My wife and I loved our stay in Marni Village. New and extremely clean rooms. We had a wonderful view of the beach and the ocean from our second floor room. Extremely enjoyable 5 days.

How to reach Marni Village Hotel
By airplaneThe Heraklion Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport (HER) is 28 km away from the property. As you exit the airport, take the E95 national highway and follow the indications to Agios Nikolaos. Drive for approximately 25 km, go past the first exit to Hersonissos and take the second exit, Hersonissos-Stalis. Make a left at the junction where you reach the beach road towards Hersonissos. Proceed for about 2 km and then turn left after the Select supermarket (on your left). Follow the road for about 50 metres and then take the first left. At the end of the road turn right. Marni Village is 100 metres ahead.
Otherwise, you can take a taxi outside the airport terminal; approximate cost is €30,00 per car. Please note that you can ask the taxi driver to take you as far as the reception entrance, not just outside the main gate. Enter the hotel area and follow the private road up the hill all the way to the hotel building.
By ferry
The harbour of Heraklion is about 27 km away from the hotel. Exit the port area and follow the directions to the National Road. Take the E95 national highway towards Agios Nikolaos and then follow the aforementioned indications.
Alternatively, you can reach the bus station located 500 metres away from the harbour and take the public bus to Hersonnissos. Get off at the second stop in Hersonissos (Belevedere stop). From there, a taxi will easily take you to the property (approximate cost is €5,00 per car).
