Marin Dream Hotel is really nice. The breakfast served on the roof bar with great view on the port & the sea is really amazing.A really nice place to spend two or three nights (enough to visit Iraklio). The only bad point is not for the hotel but for planes taking off (not during night :-). But all hotels in Iraklio have the same problem...

We stayed at the hotel because of its location to ferry, bus terminals, and price. The Hotel was for a one night layover. The reception staff were very helpful during check-in and directing us to restaurants after a long day of boat travel. We left very early the next morning, and discovered, when on the bus, we left a tube of artwork in the room. We called the hotel. To our relief they had the item. I wrote our name, address, and cell number on the item. Without much dialogue or prompting the staff told us the tube was on the next bus to our new location. It did arrive later in the day. This was exemplary service. We highly recommend this property.

Unfortunately the family room was just a double room with a futon folded down as a bed and not comfortable for an adult. The room was bright but the bathroom shower screen was loose and filthy with mould in the corners and very unsafe as it wobbled if u touched it. Planes also flew over when they took off from airport, so we moved hotels. The manager and I had a disagrreement as he put a pre auth on my credit card and didn't ask us how we were paying, I have never had a venere hotel do that and he was very rude, but the receptionist was very nice. I would not recommend as there are better hotels in the area with pools which we realized we needed as too far from the beach.

The following comes from your website on the Marin hotel: "Shuttle service from and/or to the airport" It does not represent the reality. There is NO shuttle service to or from the airport. The hotel called a cab for the airport and while the meter in the cab registered 4.78 eu, the driver insisted on 10eu. So, no shuttle!

This hotel was only 5 minutes easy walk from the main bus depot (we travelled by bus from Hania). The elevator was of generous size for us and luggage. A plumbing problem in the WC was fixed quickly, so we didn't need to change to another room. Our room had a balcony with wonderful view of the old Venetian port. The reception desk staff gave excellent advice about the archaeological museum closing early (because of Greek government austerity funding cuts) otherwise we would have got to the museum after lunch too late for entry. On the next day they quickly got us an early morning taxi with an honest driver when we departed for the airport.

This is a lovely hotel, very conveniently located next to the port. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is ample and the coffee is unusually good. The rooms are large by European standards, with comfortable beds and nice quality linens. In fact, my only quibble is that they don't have wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. They will, however, lend you an ethernet cable on request, so you can have a free internet connection in your room.

A very pleasant, clean hotel in a good location- close to the fortress and the port. Breakfast was good with a wide choice of different food- and served in aesthetic surroundings. The man in reception was very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The only problem was parking. The site says that the hotel includes parking, but we had to park at the port parking lot- which wasn't very far away.

Great location, and our room had a balcony with sea views. Staff were helpful and the hotel is a few minutes walk to the bus station and ferry terminal.

Breakfast with good variety is in the rooftop restaurant (where we also had a late-night pizza) overlooking the port. It is convenient to the port and one of two bus stations and is accessible by municipal bus from the airport, but that bus stop is not a convenient walk. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Rooms have option of wifi or ethernet cable. Room is small. Bathrm has the typical Greek, cramped shower.

Excellent hotel at good price, next to the main bus station and the port, at a short walking distance of the city centre, although the closest surrounding is less nice. Beautiful breakfast terrace with port view. Good rooms, with rather good noise isolation (despite the noise of the planes taking off from the airport). Perfect hotel for a stay of a few nights in Heraklion.

The Marin Dream is well located - an easy walk to the centre of the city and close to the bus station for trips to Knossos and other parts of the island. Our room overlooked the Venetian fort and harbour. Breakfast was substantial with plenty of choice. Internet was available free in the foyer.

As a lone female traveller I was very impressed by the friendly welcome from the hotel receptionist. The breakfast room on the top floor gives a great view of the harbour area and the breakfast was also very good. The hotel is a short distance from the ferry terminal, taxi rank, buses and the main tourist area. I recommend it.

The hotel is lovely and the view is magical over the harbour. The rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly. The free internet service and the generous breakfast portions were a bonus. The only problem is that if you have your own car then you can forget about parking anywhere near the hotel. Taxi it in to the hotel or else spend your day looking for parking.

Very modern, clean rooms, upgraded bath ammenities with balconies and terraces. Rooms are smallish but not tiny. Air conditioning worked well. Very secure. Free internet in lobby, as well as a small bar. Breakfast, included, was good. Rooms facing the main street can be noisy at night as there are three clubs/taverns up the street that if the music doesn't bother you, the noise of motor bikes and cars zipping around the street from the club patrons will. Ask for a room in back. Overall, great comfortable hotel. Parking is nearly impossible on the streets and there are very few, and small, lots to park (usually full).

I want to take this opportunity to thank all Marin Dream Hotel staff for one unforgetable stayed. Our requested needs were fully attended, making this hotel a perfect option for my honeymoon. The hotel is very well located, minutes walk from the ferry harbor, bus station and Heraklion main streets. The view to the fortress is amazing and what a cozy terrace!!! Internet access is free and quite reliable. Therefore, I need to thank Marin Dream for helping me making my dream come true.

Rooms on the front can suffer noise from the harbour road so I would definitely carry ear plugs if staying again on a Friday/Saturday night. I also stayed for another night a week later, and had a room away from the front which backed on to a pedestrian street, which did not experience this problem.
