Splendid Star Classic Hotel - Hanoi

A family hotel with extremely friendly people running the hotel.The mail communication before we arrived was perfect, our questions were answered promptly and they picked us up well from the airport although our flight was delayed for 2 hours, the driver was still waiting for us.Our room was very nice and very clean.They arranged for us Sapa tour which was wonderful.Thank you for Splendid Star hotel's staff.

Hotel Splendid is moderately priced for Hanoi. It is on a small side street in a good location; although this makes it a little difficult to find the first time. The service via email was very good; they inquired as to whether we would like a taxi from the airport because of some difficulties that travelers were having with taxi scams from the airport. We had good service, good location, and a good breakfast, but it is a little overpriced for comparable hotels in the area.

What a great value for the money. The rooms had everything we needed including a hair dryer and the staff was amazing. They mapped out any place we wanted to go which was so easy once we got the hang of it. We gave them the name of a store we wanted to visit and they quickly printed a map to help us get there. Used the free internet access in the lobby to quickly check email. We were a group of four women and felt very safe in this nice area. Thank you to the friendly staff. I would highly recommend.

This hotel is just like every other little hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter... It has a great location right by the St Joseph's Cathedral. Except the service is outstanding!! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful at all times. Rooms are small, but that is normal. Most importantly the rooms are clean... not all in Hanoi are!! I would definitly go back if I wanted to stay in that area again.

I stayed Splendid Star hotel for 3 nights in April. Reception is efficient and quick. The hotel is centrally located, very close to shopping centre and sworld lake. Breakfast is basic, but satisfactory. Check-in staff and housekeeping are very good. I highly recommend this hotel, and would definitely stay there again.

The staff at the Splendid Star Hotel is extremely friendly and very helpful. The location is most convenient for shopping. The breakfast is very satisfying with a variety of selections, offering good coffee. There may be flashier hotels in Hanoi, but I found the Splendid Star hotel to be graceful and comfortable

The most beautiful, warm and memorable place for a holiday in Ha Noi. My husband and I went to here in March, we are recommending it to all our friends. We stayed in the 6th floor with view room first and it was awesome. David and his staff are so like family, you almost feel sentimental leaving them. They also offer you free pick up at the airport. Anyways, Splendid Star hotel is so good I am all determined to go there very soon again!

My friends and I stayed at the Splendid Star Hotel at the end of December 08. The hotel is well located in the old quarter and reasonably priced.Tony the manager was very friendly and helpful and made our stay a welcome one. We booked three tours through him. We were vey happy with the tours to Halong Bay.The staff understood my conditions and just let me rest and feel well .They offered orange jus and coffee a discretion . I felt just like coming home even it was my first stay in this hotel . I definitely will stay here again and will recommend it to my friends .

The hotel is situated about 5-10mins walk from shopping street very closed to St Joseph's Cathedral. The hotel is located near the underground mall so good for shopping. The staff at reception was adequate in English so it wasn't too bad for communication. Complimentary morning breakfast buffet was great too.Computer and internet connection in each room was very helpful for independent travelers like us when we needed to get information on Hanoi.We also arranged our travel throughout Vietnam through this hotel and found the organization of this efficient and the costs very reasonable.Highly recommend for other travelers.

My family used to stay here during our traveling in Vietnam at the end of 2008.Their service is fantastic,reasonable prices,very perfect location in the Old French Quarter near many restaurants and attractions ,easily access anywhere .The staffs were always very eager to attend to our every need. We also arranged our travel throughout Vietnam through this hotel and found the organisation of this effiicient and the costs very reasonable.It is an small boutique hotel and is one we would recommend without hesitation.Thanks and happy new year all of you( Rose , Tony and Andy,Tom)

Two best things about this hotel are staff and location. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Hotel is located in the heart of the city, some 50 meters from St Joseph cathedral and in the shopping district. There are lots of restaurants around. On the other hand if you want broad view from the window you should look elswhere. One side faces very narrow street (5m), while another faces wall of the other building. With some effort you could probably touch this wall from your window. And some single rooms have no window at all. So if you care, be sure to arrange the room with window facing the street. For breakfast you may choose from four options (one is Vietnameese noodle soop). The food is good, but may be boring after a week. But if you don't care (I didn't) it is a wonderfull place to stay, certainly worth the price. I recomend it.

The staffs were really friendly and spoke good English. The mall downstairs provided some nice inexpensive restaurants. Not many good shopping stores around if you're looking trendy clothing or designer brands, but for everyday items there's plenty around. its great value for money (less then double for hotels in the city area), and if I want to do some shopping and eating in the city.

The lobby are decorated in a nice style with very comfortable size beds. Usual facilities include TV., air con., mini bar, hair drier and safety box. the bathrooms have both bath and shower. Staff at room service and the reception was friendly and helpful. They have a small collection of DVDs you can borrow if you have a DVD player or laptop. There is free wifi service which was sufficiently fast. the complementary breakfast buffet, consisting of continental breakfast and Vietnamese dishes.

Excellent stay - Newly and nice hotel - Great location, close to St Joseph's Church - Very friendly, welcome and helpful staff.
