The hotel was fine but the room was small and not clean enough. Toilet was dirty and bad slet. Breakfast was simple but for free. The internet was so slow for signal. However, the staff were friendly and helpful. This hitel needs ugrading soon.

It was one he most enjoyable stays because the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Would definitely return. I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels and I think the service at Mikes is very comparable. Great Staff! Gary Meitner & Sang

I had 2days stay at Mikes. You get what you pay for because there are other hotels in the vicinity offering US$ 23/- per night for a dbl room but the room condition and quality is far worse and felt happy that we booked ourself at this hotel. 3 mins walk to the lake. The hotel staff is so friendly made me feel at home. They do their best for the guests convenience, especially the rereception staff, like once the tour was to begin at 6:00 am and they packed loads of breakfast for me.

Mikes hotel - Great Location, convenient for sight seeing, shopping,etc... We got free pick up at the airport with some other guests. Great welcome drink, friendly & helpful staff! We really enjoyed our staying here and the Halong Trip, organized by Mikes hotel. I will recommend it to my friendS who are going to visit VietNam, stay in Hanoi.

Continental breakfast is excellent. You could get Tea, coffee, juices free everyday. Free Internet every time at the hotel lobby. Room rate was good. I just had very short time in Hanoi, but I liked the hotel very much. They gave to us alot of information about Vietnam and how to get around.

The photos are very misleading. My room was dark with no window, paint peeling, tv reception full of static, bathroom floor constantly wet, the rooms lead off the stairwell so it is very noisey. Had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to my room, no lift. Also, be very careful with the taxi transfer - I paid the driver when he dropped me off and then had a long debate with the hotel owner when I checked out as he wanted me to pay him too even tho I explained the situation.

stayed at Mikes for 3 nights 9 ( I did extention my staying) had a great time at the Old Quarter ,the views were great . the food at the hotel was unbelieveble .the staff were very freindly and polite and canot fault the place thank you to everyone.

For me : Room 25USD Is so cheap. Most importantl Mikes hotel Made the guests are very friendly and will do all their best to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. You will be provided with generous continental breakfasts, and large and clean hotel rooms.

Room was great, really fresh and bright, and had a great view. We have private room with Balcony and 2 Big window to view the City. Excursion to Halong Bay was so fantasti!

We found this hotel through Hotels.com & the hotel Website, but we could not book that till booked with VENERE.COM ( WELL ORGANIZATION) the hotel (as it was the same price as the hotel Website - save the money!) and got an excellent last-minute, off-season deal. Stayed here and We booked the Trip to Sapa by Night train ( The girl at the Hotel comes from Sapa - Ms Ma & Ms Su) They all gave to us very excellent information and made for our trip to discover the North- West of Vietnam so Interesting.Thanks so lot!

I booked Mikes Hotel after reading the reviews on trip advisor and it certainly lived up to its expectations. Room was so cool and We booked the Boat Trip to halong Bay The boat was beautiful and the small group which gave such a friendly atmosphere.We sailed out to a beautiful lagoon where we dived off the side of the boat and enjoyed swimming in the open clear blue sea.

Stayed at Mike´s for 4 weeks i June/July-08. The rooms are clean, and there is warm water in the tub every day. The AC was working fine which was needed after those warm/humid days in Hanoi with 37 degrees Celcius. No animals exept for a 2 cm gecko in my bathroom. 2 computers in the entrance that you can use for free. The staff is very nice, and helpful. Mike, the owner is very kind and tries his best to make this a good hotel. The only negative is that when booking a trip you often are over charged for the room at the destination, which often has lower standard than you expect, the same for the transport. Often you have to go in an old minibus fully packed with several people. But this over charging seames to be a problem in all Hanoi. Be sure to ask before hand of a detailed itenerary of your trip to avoid any problems. I would recommend Mike´s hotel to anyone going to Hanoi because the rooms are clean, they have a nice familiar atmosphere and you feel at home there.
