We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and we were very pleased. The staff was very friendly and spoke good English. They planned our trip according to our request. We were very happy with the service and the price was reasonable.

The staff is amazingly helpful. Trung planned our whole trip for us and gave us his phone number in case we ran into any trouble anywhere on our trip. The entire staff made our stay one of the best parts of our journey. The location is perfect - right in the middle of the old town. We loved it!

The staff were so friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants and shopping areas. The lady at reception even saved us the last room on a Halong Bay tour that I had emailed her about weeks before we arrived. Breakfast and free internet were great and we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel during our Halong Bay trip. A lift would have been helpful for the top floors of rooms, but we were kindly helped with our bags. The location was great, close to Hoan Kiem lake, restaurants and shops. A clean friendly hotel I would definately recommend and visit again.

To just check a few boxes would be unfair. The hotel staff was excellent...treated me as family to the point of inviting me for lunch and dinner with staff. The manager, Trung, set up most of my trip through Vietnam and it went off like clockwork. The tour that was booked for me was excellent and only the weather ruined another leg of my journey. The Rising Dragon provides free breakfast and unlimited coffee and tea all day. The eggs were always done to my liking and the coffee, plentiful and hot. The street was always bustling and alive and the hotel is close to Hoan Kiem, the famous lake in central Hanoi. All in all..a great stay.

The Rising Dragon was in an excellent location in the old quarter. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel as it is less noisy. The hotel would not be suitable for anyone who cannot walk up stairs, no lift available. The people running the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The location is very near to the lake and the shoe street. Hanoi has a distinct character about it which I enjoyed. I especially liked the old quater where you could loose yourself for hours....I felt very safe in this city.

For the money this hotel was easily the worst of our 3 week stay in Vietnam. The room we were given smelled and it was small. The shower curtain was moldy as well. The breakfast was definitely the smallest we experienced while in Vietnam. The staff were nice but overall I would have to say that you can easily find better accomodation. Only stayed one night although we booked for three. We got another hotel for the same price that was so much better that it would take too long to delineate.

Aside from a bit noisy and the mattress a bit firm, I loved this place. 25 USD including wireless internet in your room, well it doesn't get better than that. I stayed their twice--once before transferring to a 5-star hotel for a conference and then for two days afterward. The price when I went to check out went form 25 USD to 50 USD, yet this was quickly corrected when I pointed it out (I did have my confirmation paperwork.). Staff was totally committed to assisting in any way. Additionally, the taxi they arrange both to and from the airport was about 25 dollars less each way than the one form the pricier hotel.
