Hotel Mercedes - Hamburg

One night only, but it was a good one!

We would have appreciated natural juice instead of the synthethic stuff offered - and more fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet.Overall we were quite satisfied with the stay - it is not a luxury hotel but you get good value for money - you could say it is more like a Skoda than a Mercedes;-) As goes for the surroundings it is an interesting mixture of ethnic shops and restaurants (some of them very good), gambling places and sex shops, but I guess that is what you would expect close to the central railway station and even more in a city like Hamburg...

Not far from station and city centre,that´s only positive. The staff seemed disturbed by any question I made, interiours old and damaged, bads unconfortable. Better search an other solution

The hotel is located in the gay district, not far from the Main station. You can reach every corner of the city in few minutes by feet or public service, which is realiable and punctual. The area is full of ethnic restaurants but safe. My single room was very compact (read tiny) but clean. It looked out on the main street hence it was quite noisy (I slept with ear plags). As a whole, the room is value for money. Breakfast is a bit limited (only continental without cakes, croissants, fruit or biscuits). Strongly recommended to gay people because it's very close to clubs and spas but also families and single travellers.

Service was excellent, your employees were always attentive.

I had a single room on 5th floor. The lift starts at 1st floor and stops at 4th. It was nice, VERY clean, with toilet and shower in the room. The breakfast was good. It had what you needed for a good start in the morning. Nothing fancy... The only bad thing was, that the room was very, very cold. They hadn't turned on the heat, so it was to cold to stay in the room if you were not in bed. But besides that, it was very good at the price. It is as others have said in the "Red zone" but I got there at 11 in the evening and didn't feel unsafe at all even if I was alone. Another good thing is that there are two supermarkets just 50m away in both direction, and a lot of places to eat, and of course you are only 10min. walk away from the main railway and the shopping streets.

Neat, clean hotel with cheap prices en acceptable breakfast. The street isnoisy, so opening a window makes it too loud. The pipes of tee heating make a ringing noise. If you want to stay ina affordable hotel near the center, this is the place to stay!

Hotel was neat and clean than expected. Bed sheets, linen, etc were very comfortable and clean. Hotel appears safe.

Location: sex and prostitution very closed. We change 4 times rooms for 3 night: 1st room: electricity out, bad smell. 2nd room very noisy in the street or very hot in the room 3rd room the air engine in bath room cannot stop during the night 4th room: the 2 beds along the wall head looking the feet of the other. It is not a professional hotel for the conception and maintenance. The staff is nice. This comment is for you and not published but for your publicity, you have to take care of the choice. I travel all around the world and specialy south east asia in 3, 4 or deluxe hotel.

That was my first time to stay Mercedes but the second time to visit Hamburg. In this time, I stayed for about one week in this city. I felt almost friendly toward the attitude of hotel receptionists and worker. The location of the hotel near the metro station also was good for me. In the other hand, it was the most difficult problem that the door key of my room 45 was tricky for me. If possible, the key should be reformed.

Everything was great except for the bathroom - 3 of us were sharing a bedroom and the room itself was fine. We were horrified to find the bathroom was half the size it should have been. A curtain separated the sink from the toilet, and the shower head sat above the sink, with a drain below the sink. This also meant that the shower water got over pretty much everything in this small bathroom, including the toilet, which made the whole experience quite terrible.

Ein kleines gemütliches Hotel in der Nähe von allem. Die Zimmer sind klein jedoch sauber, das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Einzig ein grosser Spiegel fehlte uns im Zimmer. Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden.

We had a really nice stay and the staff was very helpful. Everyone was right about the location, it's pretty dodgy but it never really felt unsafe at all either. There was a diverse selection of restaurants in the area and the staff was very helpful in recommending a few. The only annoying point was that the website says the parking is free when it wasn't. It's a nice hotel and I'd definitely stay there again.

The hotel is a strictly sleeping and showering/ washing hotel. the room we had was spotlessly clean but very small. the bathroom was ok. the room had tv and clock. the breakfast was buffet all you could eat, eggs toast, cake, tea coffee fruit juices etc. the hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from the main railway station and 5 minuetes walk from the vast shopping centre. if you are looking for a buget hotel this is the one. this is not a hotel to have a meal and drink in the bar before retireing to bed.

I met reception man, 20 Nov at night & 21 Nov at morning. very very bad!!!!!!! not speak, not smile.

Good cheap accomodation close to the center of Hamburg, 6 min walk from the main station. The district is one of the two famous for prostitution and around the main station you can see drug addicts. The quarter is safe, but perhaps not most suited for those travelling with children and those with a low tolerance to the seedy sides of a big harbour city.

The good things about Mercedes are pretty straight forward: the price, cleanliness, and the breakfast. The downsides are the neighborhood and the steps. From Hauptbanhoff it was a simple 5-10 minute walk, but through an uappealing neighborhood. Their street was mostly porn shops, seedy hotels, and Arab groceries. Also, to get to the rooms you must walk a flight of stairs (there is an elevator, but you must walk the first flight to get to it).

Good for the price. right down the street from the main train station, 10 min. walk. close the the two lakes. no AC, but didn't need it, cool outside. oh, in the dirtier part of town, but you get that in all cities when its close the train station. never felt threatened walking at night though.

They were really nice and made me a to go breakfast since I had to leave very early before the breakfast would be served.

It should be written, that the hotel is in an area a little bit strange (sex cinemas, a lot of turkish people/stores.

Although the hotel clearly published its check in time I receieved a warm welcome when my flight was seriously delayed. Mercedes is located ideally for the central station and coach station. The room was quiet, bathroom well appointed and breakfast of a good standard. Would have no hesitation in returning.

Nice hotel with big rooms and great breakfastbuffet. No free parking, 5 Euro/night The employees had hardly no knowledge in English.

The location was an easy walk from the train station. The clerk researched and plotted the business addresses I had to visit on a map for me. I packed light so the elevator being out did not bother me, but may be a concern for other travellers.

La zona della città in cui si colloca l'hotel non è esattamente la più adatta ad una famiglia in vacanza, per i locali e i personaggi discutibili che l'affollano. L'albergo non offre servizi e confort particolari, anche se l'interno delle stanze è migliore della prima impressione che, dall'esterno, si ha dell'edificio. La reception era in ristrutturazione, quindi le cose forse miglioreranno in futuro ( le foto sul sito facevano sperare in ambienti comuni molto migliori...); la mancanza dell'ascensore fin dal piano terra (occorre fare due rampe di scale per raggiungerlo)rende scomodo il trasporto dei bagagli...Il personale è disponibile. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo non è così favorevole.
