The hotel is located in a beautiful art nouveau palace in one of Hamburg´s finest areas.
The downtown, the exhibition center, the convention center and the university are all within walking distance of the property. That applies as well for the recreation areas of the Außenalster and Hamburg's most picturesque municipal park Planten un Blomen.
The interior of the hotel has a fancy decoration and offers much ambiance, i.e. the comprehensive breakfast buffet is served in a beautiful room that is designed like an old coffee house.
In June 2006 the hotel's ownership has changed and since then many creative improvements have been implemented. A dedicated team is committed to give the residence a personal touch through friendliness and service.

Due to very central location, the near mainstreet and the railway provies a lot of noise also during the night which is a problem in summer.

The hotel is the most quiet hotel I have ever stayed at over many years of taveling in Europe. The room was cleaned well every day, and breakfast was fantastic (well worth the 9 Euro pp each day). The location was great being located only a block away from the metro station. The only real negative was that the dozen or so tables in the breakfast area were sometimes fukll and at times was full and you might have to wait to eat breakfast.

The site could be a bit misleading as the building houses at least 3-4 hotels inside (one hotel on each floor).. kinda interesting. However after this surprise we realized that Garni is absolutely OK. The rooms are relatively small so plan for a stay-for-sleep-only type of ride. Otherwise it's 100 clean, friendly and close to the city center. We found this hotel ideal for our 5 day stay in HH. For bath/sauna and things like that you should look further...

the hotel wagner is in the basement of the building. My roon from the front desk was very far. I did have ro open 2 doors in the building before to arrive to my room. The for that room was quiet hihgh. People told me i could have the same price for a 3 star hotel new by. I won't go again to the Wagner hotel

good value for the money. Great location...near Damtor banhof and Alster. Can walk to lake and enjoy a peaceful walk. ACCESS TO RESTAURANTS...AND if you like to bike a great bike rental store is just around the corner. Breakfast choices were very good..and the staff quite cordial. I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent hotel (staff, room, facilities). The hotel is well locatet so you are able to belong to all of the interesting sights in about 20 minutes. Hamburg is the ideal place for a 3 or 4 day city trip.

The hotel was great and I would definitely stay there again. Two things I did not like much was a lady, which welcomed me on my arrival – she seemed to be in hurry and I had to pull out information out of her. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast lady was super, super nice and friendly and welcomed the guests with a big smile. However, breakfast price was listed as 7 Euro. I was charged 9 Euro, which is way too expensive. Otherwise, the room was clean, the rest of the staff was nice and ready to help, and the wireless internet worked.

Hotel was in nice area but was very shabby. The towels were old and worn out. The breakfast was not very good and the bread and rolls were a bit stale. There was also renovation going on which was quite noisy during the morning so I was not able to sleep in.

By train
From all directions coming, exit at ICE-train station Hamburg-Dammtor. Cross Edmund-Siemers-Allee and follow the Rothenbaumchaussee. After 200 meters turn into Moorweidenstraße.
By aiplane
Airport Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel direction south from Flughafenstraße. In Alsterkrugchaussee keep right. Continue on Rosenbrook. Continue on Tarpenbekstraße. In Lenhartzstraße keep right. Continue on Eppendorfer Baum. At the Klosterstern roundabout take the second exit Rothenbaumchaussee. Turn right into Moorweidenstraße.
