Everything about this hotel is wonderful, the staff and the facilities are first-rate. The pool and deck are lovely. However, if you are looking for a quaint spot, it is not for you. It is a big place specializing in conventions and weddings and the like, although the facilities are built in an old abby and retain the historic look. It is not in the centro walking part of the city and maybe a bit of a long stroll to get there for most - but only a 2 min. drive.

This is a very attractive and classy business hotel but when we vistited in late July, as tourists, it was nearly empty so it felt very lonely and deserted. The hotel has a large pool which is laned for fitness swimming, not really suitable for families or a quick dip to cool down. It is set in its own small park and about a 10 minute walk through a residential area into Gubbio. Rooms were very well appointed and the decor throughout the hotel was beautiful. We didn't eat in the (empty) restaurant so can't comment on it except to say that breakfast was very good, served outside in the grounds or inside in the dark wood lounge. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. At a different time, I think we would very much have enjoyed the atmosphere here but, when its empty, like most other hotels, its not what you want for a holiday location.

We moved from another 4 star hotel (one more centrally located in Gubbio) to the Park. It was really hot, Venere offered a special rate, and the Park hotel has a beautiful swimming pool. We are so glad we moved to the Park. It is not a good location if you don't have a car and it doesn't offer the experience of being able to just walk out your door and into the heart of old Gubbio, but it is perfect if you want a pool, spa experience or other amenities. We were there in late July and nobody was there but two Italian families on holiday. We had the huge pool to ourselves. It was a splurge but a real treat and we don't regret it one bit. Our rooms were perfect with beautiful views of the Umbrian valley. The rooms were clean, nice and well situated for the family. Gubbio is worth a visit!

The best hotel I have experienced in Italy (and I am a frequent traveller)! Atmosphere, charm, superb art collection, excellent food, cordiality of the staff: all in the perfect setting.And Gubbio...what an enchanting town!
