We were on holiday staying near friends. Location and views spectacular. However the hotel has become 'all inclusive with wristbands)' we were not all inclusive. Wonderful floating swimming pool and area actually in front of hotel although drinks were quite dear. There were constant arrivals and departures of coach loads of senior citizens and to be honest it felt a bit like a care home. We were given a room initially on the sixth floor which was not the room we booked it was supposedly a junior suite (no sofa or chairs) We tried to explain this was not the room we booked and they were unable to change anything that day. We moved the following day to an older but much more spacious room with a better balcony similar view. Breakfast was not a very good standard gooey scrambled eggs and a very dark sausage along with squash (not fresh juices) and various bits and pieces not great. We only eat there once in three days. We found the staff appeared a bit stern (Paula was a nice girl) We feel we paid over the top for the standard of the rooms whilst appreciating the location. The toiletries offered were poultry. The bathroom in the second room was filthy mould on the shower door and thick lime scale we had to ask them to clean it they didn't go to town. Parking good included. Wifi in public areas ok. This hotel needs a refurb. We are now at lake maggiore which is beautiful a much better location not decrying lake Como as that was beautiful too.

Had to wait 30 minutes in order to register at the reception. Free parking was stated on the web page but was not available. Staff overloaded and therefore unfriendly.

Client is not traeted like an individual, massive turism which is very visible in the restaurant. Public areas needs to be refurnished, Bar on the lower floor ist misplaced, no atmosphere.

This was at some stage an excellently furbished hotel, with spacious marble-clad, chandelier-hung public rooms. Unfortunately it no longer lives up to its original status. For example there is no bar service, if you wish to have a drink on the terrace for instance or a coffee in the lounge you have to get it yourself at the bar & then carry it up in a lift to the terrace or up 2 flights of marble stairs to the lounge. If staying in the premier rooms they are delightful & spacious, but as the hotel is extensive many rooms are little more than box rooms so be careful. The hotel caters for coach trips en masse. There are long queues waiting to register when a coach arrives. The breakfast left a lot to be desired, with an emphasis on the management's bottom line. We chose not to eat meals at the hotel after the first breakfast. There are many local restaurants & tavernas within walking distance or a short ferry ride away in Bellagio which were delightful. In conclusion, if you have one of the best rooms this hotel offers value for money on a B&B or bed only basis.

In the Venere ad it showed parking included. We found that the hotel had free limited parking. We had to wait for parking spaces. It is a big hotel used by many tour companies but the hotel was nice, the staff helpful and the location great.

The hotel is located in an excellent location near to the ferry stop to bellagiio. The hotel offers good value for money and the rooms are large by European standards. The only downside is that the wifi only works in the lobby and as this is a hotel which takes large English tour groups of retirement age people, the lobby tends to feel like a retirement home. Additionally the breakfast was poor quality with a broken juice machine which offered some sort of red cordial and powdered eggs. If it were not for the low price of €70 per night I would probably not stay again as it is not really an Italian experience.

The Lake view from the room is beautiful. The location is also very good, easy to travel by boat to the best places. The pool area is wonderful and not represent the rest of the hotel. The hotel is very very old fashion. Very bad smell in the bathroom. Lots of groups with buses are coming to stay in this hotel with all included. The Breakfast is horrible.

Excellent location: by the lake, quiet surroundings and spectacular scenery. Buses not frequent but walking by the lake offers ample time for memorable photos :) Hotel staff need to be more welcoming when guests approach them. Breakfast was scarce at first but when guests increased all food was displayed.

The room with sea view was ok including the small balcony. Bathroom clean but simple, only one towel per person. Evening offer for drinks poor if one is not a all inclusive bus tourist. No service on terasse. Approach to terasse unacceptale, especially in the evenings darkness. Breakfast in Italian style, forget the cooked breakfast variation. Friendlyness of staff very good

This hotel was absolutely horrendous. They had no consideration for their guests and their customer service was non-existent. I would urge anyone to avoid this hotel as all costs. We were at Lake Como for a wedding and had it not been for the other people over with us and the alternative accommodation they could offer us the trip would have been a disaster due to this hotels mis-management. On a plus note the buffet food was ok, but just ok, but you are better eating at the local restaurants. Such high hopes and then so sorely let down.............

The Hotel is located on a romantic spot on the lakeside, directly in front of the ferry service to Bellagio. Rooms are spacious and clean, Staff is multilanguage and friendly, able to explain surroundings and services. I suggest booking lakeside rooms. Guests are 80% 50+ years old couple.

We had a lovely spacious room ( superior lake view), but the overall experience of the hotel was disappointing. Food is appalling and we felt sorry for those who had paid for full board. The halls were smelly and dank, dining room staff were generally rude or unhelpful (simple enough would have been to label the dishes in the bain marie than get cranky when everyone needs to ask which meat is which. Food was substandard and mass produced. Powdered orange juice, and stale croissants at breakfast was just the start. There is a lack of restaurants in Cadenabbia, and much better to stay in Varenna or Menaggio if you like to walk around the town in the evening and enjoy the ambience. Ferry and bus stops were close, but bus only runs hourly and stops at 7pm. Ferry to Bellagio runs till later.

Hotel was clean and bright. Some of staff on check in desk left alot to be desired. ~The only meal I eat in hotel was breakfast. This was not very exciting and some morning was not worth getting up for. No fresh fruit and coffee was undrinkable. If breakfast was anything to go by would not try any other meals. Apart from this clean rooms and good location.

Great hotel with a striking view of Bellagio. Room was fantastic, staff were great, if you're in Cadenabbia it's the hotel to stay at. Buffet breakfast was very tasty, I would highly recommend staying here, a great base to see the middle/upper Como region.

Breakfast poor, no fresh fruit, breakfast staff rude. Impossible to get a drink after midnight.Hotel clean and rooms well serviced. Very central for buses and boats. Pool area very clean, bar staff nice at pool bar. In general Italians all need a lot of customer service. Nothing in the area for older teenagers

Best things first : good locating close to the ferries and large rooms with view of the lake. The room was clean but they use heavy perfumed products which is a problem if you are allergic and unpleasant for others. The breakfast was awfull - only sliced bread meant to be toasted and the coffee was undrinkable. We had to drink tea in Italy ! At the reception was a note, that you could just pick up your own key. Not very smart at a large hotel were its impossible to know the guests. We didnt leave our key ! Lots of english chartergroups. Parkingfacilities were 5 places in front of the hotel or you could use public parking. Thats misinformation on the homepage. I dont think this hotel belongs at venere.com.

The hotel has lots of charm which sadly is spoilt by large English tour groups who are on "full board". The rooms are lovely and large and well appointed and we had a gorgeous view across the lake to Bellagio. The hotel takes on the sense of a school camp for adults. The hotel really should invest in air con or if not some external awnings. The rooms were outrageously hot some days with only a fan to move the hot air around. The coffee at breakfast is absolutely the worst coffee I have ever tasted in my life - an insult to Italy itself. It is mystifying how they could render it so foul - instant nescafe is heaven compared to it. They advertise that car parking is included in the price but there was a 6 space park that was permanently full and it is quite hard to find parking nearby.

Nice hotel but photos make it look better then it really is. Hotel may have been great in its day but a little tired looking now. Pool really small consisdering it is so busy. Good breakfast but dinner I believe is mayhem, didn't go ourselves. Air condition consisted of a ceiling fan which wasn't the best. Parking very poor. Staff friendly and bar busy at night but difficult to get a good seat. Kicked out at 10.00am which I believe was too early for a checkout, most are 11.00am-12.00. Some rooms very small, ours was great, very spacious with great view of lake.

The hotel was very far away from Como. The food was awful!!! The hotel receptionist was extremely rude and unprofessional. They speak very good English but they pretend they don't understand when they want to ignore the situation. This hotel is not for young people. This is a great hotel for older people who do not want to leave the hotel. We were the youngest people in the hotel (we are in our 30s). There is absolutely nothing close to the hotel, you have to travel to see or do anything.
