Although the hotel was extremely clean and the staff welcoming the only disappointment was the bathroom facilities. These were very basic and although there was a showering facility there was no screen or shower curtain. The hotel was in extremely easy access of the city centre and within easy reach of public transport both to the railway station and the airport.

This is a comfortable, well-situated budget hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Don't expect frills; the bathroom was small and without any 'extras'. Breakfast was adequate and ample. The receptionist was very helpful on our arrival. The location is very convenient. We were satisfied and would stay again.

Staff very helpful, especially reception. Rooms clean and not pretentious. Good value for money. Breakfast also good and varied buffet style. Hotel very central and in a quiet area. Hotel caters for all types of tourists or businesspersons, from families to older citizens. I will visit again.

The staff working the reception were very welcoming and approachable, even though I spoke mainly English. The hotel itself was an old-style hotel, so I thought it was quite charming, but it was clean and well-maintained. I stayed in room 114, which was very roomy (except for the shower stall itself, but I think that's everywhere in Europe), and provided me with the toiletries and towels I needed. The radiator/heater kept my room warm during my stay, though it would've been good to know how to adjust it myself. The breakfast was also very good and had enough variety (for a complimentary meal) to choose from. My only complaints? One of the mattresses was not very good to sleep on, luckily they put me in a room w/ two twins next to each other so I had the other one (which was better) to use instead. Also, because of the big windows and my level being so close to ground-level, I was afraid I could be seen easily at night in the bathroom, which had no curtains, but I could just be paranoid. Regardless, I would definitely stay again.

My 4th stay at this hotel! On my 3rd stay, my son was with me and we both enjoyed this week very much. My son was amazed at how reasonable the prices were for a city centre hotel. However, on my 4th stay things did not go as well, as I fell and broke my foot in the road after being in Graz for only 1 hour!I was taken to the hospital and put in plaster and given crutches.. Staff were very good, particularly Dimitri, on reception who went out of his way to be helpful.Had to check out of hotel 3 days early and went to stay with friend in Graz. No penalty for early departure.Domestic staff were also excellent and went to the shops for me and also lent me a mobile phone charger. All in all, can definitely recommend hotel. Good breakfast, excellent central position,3 mins. walk from old town. Also a number of really good restaurants within 5 min. walk.

Hotel is located in the pedestrian area and the last street shown was not correct. I suggest to call them before and ask for right information. The breakfast was included in the price.

I went in Graz two times for work, and both I stayed in the Mariahilf: big room, clean, in central area, is almost perfect! Probably not the most particular hotel I've stayed in, but very comfortable!

Fourth visit to Graz. Lovely city and beautiful surrounding countryside. Hotel in a very good position within 5 mins. walk of medieval centre. This was my second stay at this hotel. First visit noisy because I was in a room which overlooked a bar which seemed to be open all night.Lovely room though, and great if you want to be in the middle of everything. My second stay was in a much quieter room overlooking a sort of inner courtyard. I asked this time, for a quiet room. This room was pretty basic with a tiny TV set. However, the price of this hotel is quite amazing, so I did not feel this was a problem. Breakfast quite satisfactory - loads of coffee! In short, a good value hotel in a very central position. If you are a night owl, someone is on reception all night, so you do not need your key! I am planning to stay there again.

Hotel near the centre(five minutes walking to christmas cheap).Relationship between price/quality very good. Too much hot inside the rooms, like every hotel in Austria, but good position in the city.

A very nice centrally located hotel, extremely spacious room, friendly competent staff, a good contintental breakfast. A bit noisy at night with night life seeming to be right outside, but it was a warm summer night.

Before selecting Hotel Mariahilf I did a lot of comparing and contrasting, and read numerous reviews. Mariahilf provides fantastic value. My only criticisms are the weired plumbing system in the shower, and the totally misleading information given at the front desk regarding the duration of a taxi to the station ("two minutes") - we nearly missed our train - the taxi took 22 minutes !

This is a very pleasant hotel in an excellent location. It's nothing fancy, but it offers comfortable accommodations at a fair price. Potential guests should understand that the furnishings are spare, and there are few extras -- for example, no hair dryers in the bathrooms, and no internet access, which was something of a problem for me as I was there on business. The included buffet breakfast is typical European continental, with fresh rolls, cheeses, meat, cereals, and yogurt, plus juice, coffee and tea. I would certainly stay here again. My one caveat might be to older travelers or those with physical limitations who might have difficulty getting in or out of beds that are low to the ground, as the one in my room was. Otherwise, no complaints

Excellent value, good location close to river and Old Town and a few mins to the lift taking you to the top of the hill overlooking Graz. Unlike many breakfast included. Airport shuttle menntioned on the website did not exist but taxis were no more expensive anyhow. Would definitely use again

Very conveniently situated for old town. Huge room, furniture a little sparse but modern and very clean and comfortable, infact much nicer than the initial impression of reception area might have led you to think. Perfectly adequate buffet breakfast with hot and cold drinks, would certainly go again

A very good option for a traditional central hotel, within short walking distance of Hauptplatz, Schlossberg and all shops.Buffet breakfast was excellent with a good range of cereals, yoghurt, breads, meats and cheese with ample fruit juice, tea and coffee. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious but basic with good en-suite shower - a bath would have been welcome! Very quiet at back of hotel apart from some early morning rubbish collection at premises behind. We would certainly stay there again.

Only one person can understand English. Usually he seems works afternoon. While I eating breakfast, room clean was finished. 8:30 am. and around 10 room cleaner comming again. and I wanted to ask why but reception coudn't understand English. so, if you cannot understand German, here is sometimes inconvenient.

It was the first time to stay there. It was really nice hotel! It places the center of the city, and it was easy to access where one want to go in the city. But the room was just desolate. I was moved by the welcoming atmosphere. The employee was really amiable. I'd like to stay there again if I get the opportunity.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The price of having such a good location (most sights within walking distance)was that it was fairly noisy at night. Pop across to Cafe Centraal for good beer, coffee and food.

Graz è stata una tappa, sulla strada di ritorno dal lungo viaggio intrapreso. Tappa piacevole, perché la cittadina è molto bella, civile, e l'albergo bello, comodo, silenzioso e pulito.

Good location near the centre. Room was spotless but extemely spartan. Completely separate twin beds despite requesting double. Nice breakfast was included. Friendly staff. Seems expensive compared to elsewhere in Europe but not bad for Graz. Given the characterless room maybe consider cheaper Etap nearby.

Huge spacious room, within walking distance of Graz centre, lovely breakfast, helpful staff (let me leave my bag after checking out, and recommended an excellent restaurant!). No more than 20 minutes walk to the Hauptbahnhof too, although there's even a tram stop within a few hundred metres of the hotel entrance. Brilliant.
