We were disappointed that the hotel was a little more out of the centre than we realised, this wasn't helped that the street wasn't particularly pleasant to walk up (not dangerous just not pretty) or that there was major roadworks going on around the square BUT when the square is done up, it's going to look fabulous and Hotel Daniel is right on it and SO close to the train station. Breakfast was GREAT and the communal areas were very spacious and modern. We had no problem with the window in the shower but it was odd. We were cycling so bikes were placed in the large garage which was fab. Reception staff probably chosen because they were young and hip rather than customer focussed but they were friendly and helpful. first time in Graz, walk up the Scholssberg recommended :)

Very nice designer hotel right next to the Graz train station. Not too far from the central historic district. Public transportation (tram) is a short distance from the front door of the hotel.

The claim to be a "design hotel" comes along with some eye-catching features in the room that might need getting used to: While a proper desk is missing, the bathroom is considered as a part of the room rather than forming a separate room, i.e. the wash-bowl is IN the room and the shower cubicle is equipped with a huge window enabling your roommate to follow the scene directly from his/her bed. This might be innovative but above all it is: unfunctional.

Immediately adjacent to the train station, which is convenient if coming by train. A distance to the main attractions. A nice little sauna in the basement.

Very "cool" desing hotel. Rooms and common areas are clean, service is very efficient. Price/quality relationship is excellent and position is very good (except of a red light district cinema nearby). It is easy to reach every part of the city We were a small group of 9 person and everybody enjoyed the stay at Daniel Hotel. This was our second time in Graz and if we will come again, the first hotel we will check availability will be Daniel.

It is right next to Graz railway station. Hence, very convenient to reach. All trams stop at the railway station, so it is easy to travel around from the hotel. The breakfast/brunch (buffet) is excellent (don't miss it)!!! The rooms look very nice, stylish, are clean, and ideal for young people. We had a special rate for Easter, which, in our opinion was the ideal price. Altogether a nice place to stay, to enjoy Graz.

Very nice hotel, stayed one night, nothing to complain about. Breakfast excellent. For the price (we payed EUR 77,- for two including breakfast) a very good choice. Will come back next time if price stays the same. But caution: Shower wall is made of glass, so you can see from the room when someone is using the shower. Maybe not optimal if room inhabitants are not a couple... ;-)

This is a somewhat "fresh idea" hotel and they have truly done some very innovative things to it to make it interesting. Space in the rooms is limited (they are small) but due to some very modern designs, everything fits and the rooms are quite comfortable. Room was also dead quiet despite closeness to train station and busy street! Overall, I enjoyed my stay here a lot.

The room we had was furnished in a modern style. This caused some problems with the child as there were sliding doors between bath/wc that could not be really locked. Also some switches/sockets were close to ground and rather exposed. For travellers without children this would not be a problem. All in all we were satisfied with our stay in Hotel Daniel.

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Daniel. Has been recently renovated with a young trendy retro feel that is fun. The room is small, and the overly designed bathroom arrangement was a little precious, but not enough to dampen our enthusiasm about this hotel. The room prices are very good value. The breakfast, at 9 euros each, was excellent value - one of the best we have found so far. The position of the hotel, on a tramline directly into the middle of Graz, with good parking, with access to the railway station, is excellent. Graz is a lovely city to visit, and the Hotel Daniel was a pleasure to stay in.

Convenient to trains and trams, liked the modern funky look of the interior, but on the outside being next to the 24 hour sex show place was not great and the area did not look real safe at night. Room was comfortable. But did not like that they charged a different rate one of our nights - it seemed unfair to me. An ok place.

Hotel has a very new young look with modern furniture and decorations. It is just one minute walk from train station exit. Although it is so near to the train station we heard no noises. City cente is 10 to 15 minutes walk but you can always takethe tram from infront of hotel to travel. Hotel is surrounded by a supermarket, Mc donalds and bars. I will definitely return to this hotel. I liked the shower room, which is made of glass.

The Hotel Daniel is an efficient, clean hotel convenient to the main train station in Graz. The location is a pleasant 20 min. walk from the old town. The staff is efficient and helpful. We did not eat breakfast at the Hotel as there is a SPAR market at the train station that carries all the basics for a quick breakfast or a picnic lunch. Overall our 3 days stay in Graz, and the Hotel Daniel were enjoyable.

Pro: modern furnishing, internet in the lounge (cable in rooms); convenient public transport, decent grill restaurant at the train station nearby cons: extremely cigarette smoke polluted lobby and breakfast lounge (these rooms are interconnected); made me quit my internet session in the lounge; glass wall to the shower; no hairdryer in the room (request it at the reception desk); breakfast too expensive (10 EUR extra); you can get a buffet breakfast opposite in the shopping arcade "Annen Passge" (upper floor "S-Buffet") for half the price, or even better take a 10 minutes trip with the tram to "Hauptplatz" (city center), walk the steep and pedestrian only Sporgasse uphill; after a few steps you will find "Sorger" who offers more than a dozen different breakfast varieties from 3 to 10 EUR in a pleasant and smoke free environment.

Free parking out the back, nice decor, quiet and comfortable room. easy walk to town. an old 50's motel which has been given a retro-modern renovation, which was very cool. we liked the glass shower, but if you're traveling with anyone you're not intimate with, it could be an issue!

The hotel was very nice, but we did have an umbrella stolen from outside our door. Staff spoke very little English, only the manager was competent in that regard. Breakfast was excellent and the free internet is a bonus. The strip club 50 feet from the hotel front door was NOT an added bonus, nor the sketchy people in the park. Very nice room though. The sauna in the basement was reminiscent of Silence of the Lambs.

Hotel Daniel was a good base for visiting Graz. Cool Design Hotel with mimimalist design and fitout. Don't stay here if you like rustic or kitsch. close to trams and train station, it made getting into town, and catching our early train, a breeze. The area around the train station is naturally a bit seedy, but we had no problems from anyone either night or day. The only down side is that our non-smoking room smelt as if it was used as a smoking room, just when we were not in it.

The hotel is very nice. However the room we had is not appropriate at all for old people or families with cildrens. This hotel is more suitable for young people who wants a little fun and a nice rest. The problem I had was the parking place - on the site it was mentioned that the parking is included in the price - wrong the garage??? of the hotel was full and the parking place in front of the hotel was contra cost (belongs to the municipality, therefore you have to pay for it). The breakfast was very good and generous.

Graz is a lovely city and this hotel welcomes you in many ways: very close to the train station (just need to cross the street!), very close to many tram and bus stoppes to go anywhere; very clean; simple and sophisticated at he same time (being a design hotel); the atmosphere in the hall is quite cozy, with a nice corner with fireplace and fountain (that together with the stone wall give you the feeling of the four elements, fire, water, ground and air); quite rich breakfast; interesting design of the room (simple, modern, funny shower window...); free internet access both in the hall (one computer point available) and in the room, 24/7, either wireless (first floor) or via cable; and most of all very friendly personnel! The averall quality of the hotel really impressed me for corresponding to such a convenient fare! I will certainly come back and I strongly recommend this place.

This is no longer a B&W hotel but they still had our reservation and at the quoted price. The floor we stayed on had been newly renovated to boutique rooms and very nice. The breakfast was excellent and it is very close to the train station and public transport. The room did not have a bar fridge which would have been useful to keep our drinks cold as the weather was very hot. We would stay here again.
