considering we did not know what to expect for the price we where paying,on arrival we where more than pleasantly surprised on arrival at the hotel.the staff where pleasant and helpful,the rooms where pleasant,clean,and ample for our requirements.the hotel was ideally located for access to the town centre,beach and loccal facilities.it had beautiful views of the bay from the rooms.off the roof,which by the way,had an excellent swimming pool,and cafe area where breakfast was served.the hotel was within easy reach of many restaurants,including a new one called cherrys which was just next door.anybody looking for an ideal budget hotel in grand bay,my wife and i wholly reccomend the grand bay resort.may we also mention venere who booked it for us,they were not only very efficient,but also very helpful,and only a free phone call away.regards wil and eileen cooke

On the day of leaving the owner appologized for the non-pickup from airport on arrival, the noise of extremely loud music from next door that lasted up to 1:30am in the morning, the cold water showers, in general would not recommend again. Although the owner offered free accomodation at her own home next time we would visit Mauritius. The name Grand Baie Resort is not a Resort at all just some rooms in a building.
