CHECK AVAILABILITY

Situated in the historical heart of Granada, the 3-star Zaguán del Darro Hotel offers visitors a charming location in the Andalucía capital. Next to the river bank, this competitively priced accommodation enjoys beautiful views of the majestic Alhambra. The city is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and is just one hour from the Mediterranean coast, making this popular historic hotel a great choice for travel to other areas of the country.

Housed in a fashionable 16th century palace and formerly a Franciscan convent, the Zaguán del Darro Hotel still preserves its ancient charm in the arched courtyard, the marble columns, and the beautiful Renaissance fountain located on the superb patio, declared a site of artistic interest by Unesco. Dedicated and friendly staff are on hand to ensure that you have a pleasurable holiday here in this unique UNESCO World Heritage Site destination.

It is a bit noisy if you sleep with the windows open, but the location is perfect as well as the staff, which is very helpful. I recommend it.

VERY friendly and supporting (espac. Sig. Raquel - Thanks); awful to reach with own (rented) car - therefore ask mgmt. by phone first for parking garage (approx 2km away) and then take taxi with your luggage to reach the hotel

Very spacious room and nicely decorated, pretty old building. We had a room with view to the Alhambra, could be a bit noisy in summer because it faces the street.

When arrived at Granada I drove 1u30 to find or reach the hotel, finally I took a parking and by foot with luggage over about 800 m. The hotel should inform the visiters how and what to do to reach it. By arrivel the responsible told us that we should have maked a phone coall to him so he could pick us up.(but this was to late)

This hotel is in an excellent position in the old part of the city. Rooms are in excellent condition and very well decorated. A room with a view of the Alhambra is worth asking for. Prices are very reasonable and very good value for money. The plumbing is a bit noisy and walls thin but, for that location in an old building not unexpected. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of good bars and restaurants nearby.

Overall, a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Walls maybe a bit thin though, we could hear someone snoring! And wifi not available on top floor.

This hotel as a lot of character, has a TERRIFIC location, and very helpful staff - we got a whole overview of the area and recommendations right when we got in. However, the walls are the THINEST I have ever experienced. I barely got any sleep. You could hear people having a normal conversation in all the surrounding rooms, and then one night, some other people got busy... and I could hear EVERYTHING. I felt like I was in the same room with them. Yuck. Anyways, if you're passing through for one night and want a great location, this place is fine, but don't expect to be renewed after your stay. I stayed in another hostel in the area that was much more private and comfortable - and cheaper. I'd look elsewhere.

Arriving guests need clearer warning that if you are coming in a car, access to the hotel entrance is EXTREMELY difficult. We were unable to unload luggage due to traffic behind us. Circling back to the hotel to try again was VERY confusing and even after doing this several times during our stay, I was unable to follow the instructions of the desk clerk. Guests should also be warned about the parking difficulty. Finally we were able to park in the garage, but they initially told us they were full and eventually made room, for which we were very grateful. However, it is a long walk with luggage. Probably you should simply advise guests not to bring a car. All else was great. Lovely building and rooms. AC worked very well which was important since it was 42 C degrees the day we were there. Thanks

Pleasant and helpful staff, good location, nice atmosphere. We had a "view of the Alhambra" room on the street side - a bit of traffic and tourist noise, but not too bad. Biggest problem for me was the small double bed, really not big enough for two normal-sized people (all of the photos show either 2 twins or larger beds). But price was right and I would recommend.

My wife and I were in Granada for 2 nights and decided to stay and extra night, largely because we loved the Zaguan del Darro. It is a beautiful location, central yet quiet. The rooms have a wonderful old world Andalusian aesthetic appeal. Excellent for the price. No parking nearby, and there is a steep stairway up to the reception before you get to the elevator, so be prepared.

A sweet and excellent small hotel with a nice atmosphere, elegant and cosy room with view to the Alhambra. We enjoyed the little "patio" within the hotel and feel at home. The district is simple and quiet and not far away from the centre. The staff gave us the advice to take a shuttle to the Alhambra. That was very comfortable and qick, because the Alhambra is all way up the hill. The staff is very friendly and open for every question. If you travel by car there is no possibility for parking nearby, but you can use the parking-house (ten minutes walk). 24 hours cost € 18,50 - it should be really cheaper !!! (maybe a deal with the townadministration)for guests who want to stay in that area in all the beautiful accomaodations.
