Well located for what we wanted to do in Granada: walk to Albayzin, bus to Alhambra, close to good flamenco, near good tapas bars, stroll along river, and walks through nice shopping and eating areas. Hotel staff was very informed and provided excellent services.

Visited Granada with 3 daughters. Chose this hotel bwcause of location, reasonable price and willingness to accommidate a third person in bedroom. It was adequate for our needs. If our daughter had not spoken spanish communication would have been difficult. We left one morning before breakfast and they were unwilling to give us any food to take with us and there was no way to get a cup of coffee.

Very clean and spacious room, quiet. Beautiful hotel generally, and welcoming common areas- the breakfast was simple but good, and staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was good in that it was central to most sites, but the street the hotel is on seems popular with backpackers and has a lot of bars. It's a pretty noisy environment, even outside of weekends, and probably is not an area that would be appealing to everyone.

The hotel location is excellent, just steps to the Cathedral where the bus to Alhambra starts. The room is well decorated, spacious but the toilet is smelly. I guess because of the plumbing system. My room is facing a bar which is quite noisy until midnight. However, we're not sleepers so we found no problem on that. Hotel staff is friendly, provided useful information and help us called taxi, also allowed for early breakfast. Highly recommended though!!

Really enjoyed this hotel on a busy street within the walls of old Granada and on the edge of the albyzan. Although the area was noisy at night the compensations are a staff who care about you and excellent food in the restaurant. All the main attractions and some lovely, traditional bars are all within walking distance. Book before you go for the Alhambra and enjoy bar hopping to find the best tapas.

Unless you are familiar with the centre of Granada finding this hotel can be a test. But persevere and you will be rewarded with a hotel of charm and character. Very Andulatian with its dark wood and stained glass you are made welcome from the first moment - nothing is too much trouble even when our "super duper" all singing and dancing shower didn't work - all rooms have them - and we were immediately moved to another equally charming room, no fuss, no bother. You are at the heart of everything that is Granada - even the caves are only a 10 minute walk away - so much so that if you are disappointed with the typical continental breakfast, which I am personally, there are cafes aplenty within a stones throw of the hotel. The restaurant food is excellent if a little pricey, the staff are very kind and your room will be cleaned thoroughly every day....we will return!

The room was fairly spacious. Bathroom with a lot of character, nice tiles. The location was excellent: close to the Albacyn, but benefit from being close to public transport. This means that you do not have the trouble you might have if you book a hotel within the albacyn or sacremonte areas where you have to climb flights of stairs. The breakfast was exactly as quoted by other reviewers: boring, no cuts of meat, not even butter or spreadable cheese. Just some bread, jam, pate in a tin and room temperature yoghurt.I had breakfast on both days and I struggle the following day. Good coffee though.Overall, I would advise this hotel to someone who wants to stay nearby interesting surroundings and wiling to try breakfast in other places.

I didn't pay close attention to road access when booking, but luckily, our taxi was able to drive right up to the hotel door; our companions on a nearby street were not so lucky, and they had to walk a few hundred meters up a cobblestone street with their bags from our hotel. The location was great; just inside the Albaycin, so we easily walked all along the Darro but were also only a few blocks from the Cathedral in the other direction. Just a couple of minutes' walk to the Plaza Nueva, which is a great central place for tourists in the Albaycin, and where the trail up to the Alhambra starts. The staff was very friendly, all knowledgeable about the area and even told me how to print out my Alhambra tickets the night before at an ATM right around the corner so we could skip the line in the morning. And actually, when I had an issue with that, the clerk directed me back to the Plaza Nueva to an Alhambra bookstore where I printed them without a problem. She even offered to have breakfast ready 30 minutes before they normally opened so that we could eat before heading up the hill (and it was in fact fully prepared early, and another couple who was checking out was also eating with us). Breakfast was small but varied and sufficient, and we ate in a nicely-decorated courtyard. They have an elevator and stairs. The room had just enough walking space around the two double beds pushed together (seems common for Spain) but a large wardrobe and large bathroom. The fancy multi-head shower took a while to figure out! We had a room facing the street, which provided a nice view, but luckily wasn't too loud. Also, if this is your first hotel in Spain (as it was ours) have them explain how to use the card to turn on the electricity. We returned late one night after a wedding, and luckily another woman was going in and knew where the bell was to ring the clerk, as they lock the outer door and we hadn't thought to ask about how to get back in.

Hotel Posada del Toro was one of our favorite hotels on a 12-day trip to Spain. Lots of character throughout. The rooms had everything we needed (we had two rooms). The showers are a fun surprise with a steam option. If you go here, make sure you have dinner at their restaurant. It was our favorite meal during out entire trip. The food was FABULOUS. Great Andalucian soup with ham/egg and the Duck with Mushroom sauce was amazing. Gazpacho was great too and the waiter/chef did a nice job accommodating my son's picky eating habits. The only downside to this hotel as mentioned in other reviews is the noise on the street side. We should have asked for interior rooms but I didn't take the reviews seriously. Luckily I packed earplugs and we were prepared for night two. It is in a great location, but a bit sketchy at night. Such a great, quaint hotel though. And the price was fabulous for a family who needed two rooms. Breakfast included is a huge plus, but I agree that the selection could have been a little bit more. I would recommend it to anyone, but ask for the interior space and eat dinner here after a long day the Alhambra.

What an adorable Posada! The rooms were beautiful, the bathroom was exquisite. We took the city bus from the train station and about a 5-10 minute ride, we got off and the hotel was very close by. We were only in town for a day, so we never got our bearings too well. We visited the Alhambra, and a Flamenco dinner restaurant. It was low seasons so thankfully not too busy. Very warm, and quiet sunny. The Posada was great, small but perfect. My only negative is there seems to be a lot of hippy, begging young people. A fad that was popular with the 20+ crowd in my hometown and I didn't care for it there, and don't care for it in general. Something about young people lying around doing nothing, staying up till all hours when others are trying to sleep, bumming change from people... it drives me nuts. Anyway, they do hang around outside the hotel. Make sure you get a quiet room and you won't hear them. But if you are on the wrong side of the building it can be overwhelming I am sure. Don't let that deter you from this Posada though. It is worthwhile to stay here during your visit.

+ good location, nice staff, very nice design of rooms and patio inside - very bad isolation in the rooms. not quiet at all. we could hear everyithing - when somebody from the neighbourhood was using wc or bath the water was making incredible noise. as when people from othe rooms were talking, we could hear it very well. breakfast was not very good. well for the price it was maybe okay. there were some marmalade (jam), butter, bread and some cookies. hot water, coffee. no cheese or sausage. I stayed in twin/double with two beds. well in case you will go sleep pretty late, maybe you won;t hear all that described stuff and will be fully satisfied

Stayed at the Hotel for 3 nights. Would have rated it higher except for the first night's experience. That night was spent in room 203 and it was horrible. Street noise from Tapas bar, disco bar crowd, and garbage collectors between 10:00PM and 6:00AM were constant interruptions at any attempts made to sleep. Staff put us in a different and quieter room the next day. The location was terrific and close to most sites and activities. The Alhambra was a convenient 10 minute bus ride away.

The location was perfect. Tapas bars, restaurants, bakeries, ice cream shop, grocery stores, and coffee shops were no more than a 1-3 minute walk from the hotel. The Cathedral and Alhambra were also very close. The street on which the hotel was located is a very busy one, and people tend to hang out there at all hours of the day and night, hence the noise. Despite the noise, I would definitely stay in the hotel again on any future visits.

The public areas and the patio are very charming, the hotel is well-located in the centre of the city between Plaza Nueva and Albayzin, in one of the busiest streets. The room was spacious, but the air conditioner shot the air directly towards the bed and could not be deviated, thus creating some discomfort during the night. The bathroom was beautiful but not much functional: the toilet seat was damaged and the water-massage shower didn't work properly. The price/quality ratio was anyway good.

We stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Posada del Toro and were delighted with its situation and our room. We had a small view of the Alhambra from our window and the fact that there was a short corridor between our room and our excellent bathroom, made us feel we had a small apartment. We were only a block from the centre of town and we were also among the fascinating exotic traders in the narrow lanes. The young people on the desk were all English speaking and were very helpful with information, getting us tickets for the Alhambra, and recommending restaurants close to the hotel. The lift was a welcome bonus. The breakfast was a little sparse, especially if one did not arrive first, but this was our only criticism and we would certainly stay there again and recommend to hotel to others.

Wonderful location just steps from the Plaza Nueva. Reception was friendly and competent. Room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Our first room was gorgeous, but smelled vaguely of sewage and we could hear the thumping of techo music all night. We could deal with that, but then the shower did work properly (hot water kept disappearing). We reported it to the staff and they immediately moved us to a beautiful suite, no extra charge. We´ve bee in Granada for the first time, for 3 days, and we were glad, when we arrived in the evening and there was such a nice restaurant in a Spanish courtyard belonging to the hotel. The hotel is situated in the centre of Granada in a narrow road, you don´t need any car or bus, to the Alhambra we took 25 minutes by foot. Tip: When you go out of the hotel and go left, ca. 200 metres there is a supermarket where you can buy everthing for drinking or a little meal, very good sheep cheese... In the night, however, many people are walking along this little steet talking loudly, so we woke up several times. The windows got double-glasses, but it`s still not quiet, but it`s Spain! We liked the rooms and the Spanish-designed bathroom. The only point we didn´t like was the breakfast. There was cereals and cake in plastis and marmalade and so on, ok, but the salami and bacon and cheese we couldn´t eat, because they were dry and old, the cheese only could be scratched off the plate. The plates and cups were really dirty so that we had to give them back two times. The girl that did the service all alone was unfriendly or perhaps unhappy?

The hotel was alittle bit difficult to find, but once there we liked the location. The toilet had been used before we checked into the room, in spite of the sanitary seal. That was a negative first impression. Also, I had to ask at the front desk for TP on one occasion. I thought that was strange. I received some faulty information at the front desk regarding tickets for the Alhambra, but that was more the fault of the webpage than the young man at the desk. (My advice is to go directly to the Alhambra to buy your tickets; don't use the phone or the webpage.)
