About Hotel Las Nieves

exterior Hotel Las Nieves exterior Las Nieves is a cosy family-run hotel housed in a building from 1864, conveniently located in the very heart of Granada, at the corner of Calle Alhondiga and Calle Sierpe Baja, and only 400 metres from the Cathedral.

Originally, the hotel consisted of two buildings, therefore it boasts two fine façades. Although the building has recently been restored, it still preserves some of the typical elements from Andalusian mid-19th century houses.

Due to the property's central position, guests can enjoy Granada on foot, even though, if they prefer to take the bus, many lines leading to all major attractions run within the proximity of the hotel.

After a day of sightseeing, guests can have a rest at the cafeteria, where they can sip a drink or taste different types of sandwiches, or at the TV lounge.

At the reception, the attentive and friendly staff will be pleased to help guests renting a car or arranging a city tour. Additionally, they will provide guests with tourist information and city maps and guides. Guests will also be able to leave their luggage at the reception or to use the safe.

Las Nieves hotel is the best choice for those guests who want to relish a peaceful stay in the beautiful city of Granada. Moreover, all guests travelling with their adored pets do not have to worry about where to leave their mascot because the property is animal friendly.

A very nice hotel in the centre of Granada. You can bring your pet!

The first of the two nights we spent at the hotel they gave us a terrible room with two beds instead of the matrimonial room we had booked, and with a very narrow window facing a bare wall: we had to keep the light on even if there was daylight outside! And the bathroom had no window at all! We asked for a change, but they gave us the other room only the day after. The second room was spaciuous and full of light. The matrimonial bed was indeed a small one, but it worked. The hotel is very well located and cleaniless was excellent.

The room was clean but a little small. the location was good but a little difficult to find as the hotel is behind the cathedral. Hotel staff were unfriendly and gave us wrong information about the bus tour of the city. This caused some inconvinience.

huge rooms, quaint interrior. Difficult to find so take a taxi, but locations is great, ie close to everything in the old quarter... but that also ment drunken spanards screaming all night on the weekends outside your window... not sure if they have rooms facing the inside court. If you're not going there to party or enjoy sleeping, stay midweek or ask for a inside room.

Compared to Hotel in Sevilla this hotel not worthy of 3rd Star!. Smoke drifting in from other rooms and cafe made for restless sleeping as heating not able to keep up once room was aired. Staff very friendly

The bathroom floor was covered by hair. We've found a lot of hair "into" the bed too! The day after our complaints we found hair in the bathroom again. The rest was all good!

This hotel is centrally located not far behind the cathedral. Most of the buses pass the front of the cathedral and all bus fares are the same (I think it was about 1 euro) from the station. The room was quite good and the quaint little internal patios were enticing (see the photo). Breakfast is in the coffee shop next door which is part of the hotel - so it seemed. Their coffee is good compared to others. Buses for the Alhambra leave from a square about 3 blocks away. We found out later that you can buy a daily bus ticket or multiple tickets instead of one-way tickets. That would have saved us a bit of money. Order and buy your tickets to the Alhambra inline before going there. If you get morning tickets, you can pick them up the day before in the afternoon when there are no queues! Our order was messed up so we had to wait in the queue - 3 hours.

This was our first stay at Hotel Las Nieves and the problem was finding the hotel with the map provided on the website. The one way streets are not clearly marked. It was very difficult to get to the street on which the hotel is located. I had very tedious experience trying to get the car into the garage. Then we had not removed all the things we really wanted from the car and it was too much trouble to go back to the car (although the staff said it would be fine to do that) Once we were settled the location was convenient to tour the city.

The redeeming merit of Las Nieves was its central location; the rest is pretty much forgettable. We were allocated a dark basically furnished room that faced an alleyway which meant on a Saturday night, the nightlife of Granada was not seen but definitely heard; the mattresses on the beds were sunken; and the room had a strange smell of cleaning agents when we arrived. All the above is tolerable, but this is more of a 1.5/2 star hotel in the 45-60EUR per night category rather than something in the 80 range that we paid.

We have stayed at Las Nieves a number of times and find the location ideal, within easy walking distance of all the sights and excellent Restaurants. The staff are very helpful and the facilities are perfectly adequate for a Hotel of this type (it is in an older building).

The hotel is located in the center of the old downtown of Granada, a pedestrian and commercial zone with many picturesque plazas. Tourist areas like the Cathedral, the Alhambra, etc. are within easy walking distance, as are bus routes, banks, etc. A great location for both tourist and business travel. The hotel staff was very friendly.

The initial room I was offered on the first floor was terribly noisy. Paper thin walls and right on the street. But the staff were obliging enough to change the room after the first night. All in all a decent, clean hotel which is centrally located.

This hotel was great value, clean and very convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the cafe was fun and very cheap. 'Pan tostada con tomate' drizzled with good olive oil, freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee. It's very Spanish and you may be put off by the smoking, but it's authentic. The walking tour of Granada (Cicerone) is very worthwhile. El Yunque in P. San Miguel Baja has excellent food at lunchtime and is a beautiful place to sit. Found wonderful Flamenco in small bar El Huerta del Loro behind Sta Ana on Friday and Sat night 8Euros. Interpretation Centre in Sacromonte is worth a visit and the views are spectacular.

Me and my partner arrived three days early from Seville, ill, tired and forlorn. The staff went out of their way to help us by finding us rooms even tough we were several days earlier than our booking, and explaining there was one night in between our arrival and booked dates when there was no room, but that they would check for cancellations and do their best to let us stay and keep the same room throughout. This they did, they discounted the weekend rate (which is higher than the standard or internet tarfiff) for us and they kept us informed. They were kind, friendly and helpful and took time to explain everything I asked and to make suggestions and to help me, all patiently done despite my broken Spanish (but they could also speak English). The hotel was on a shopping street in the centre of the old part of town, yet with the windows shut you couldn't really hear the street below. My only gripes would be that personally I was hot in the room at night (air con only works during warmer months) and Spanish hotels give couples one long pillow in double rooms, instead of two or four individual pillows. However they gave me an extra pillow upon request. I would come back here if I were to visit Granada. It's about 20 Euros cheaper if you book ahead online, and rates go up Fri and Sat night and they do get fully booked at weekends, it would seem.

I will definitely stay here again if I return to Granada.

We thought that this property gave excellent value for money. As it is run by Spanish people, it offered a much more authentic experience than an international chain hotel would have done. It was clean and comfortable with very good bathroom facilities and was much quieter than many Spanish city hotels. It was also very convenient for the Alhambra. We would definitely go again!

Our stay was fully OK. Excellent location. The price for a room in November was very good. Clean and large rooms. Good possibility of breakfest. A price in high season (112 Euro according to the booklet in our room) would be, however, too high. Only negligible problem during our stay was at checking-out. It was not possible to pay by payment card due to problem with connection (or non-competent receptionist?). I would not have mentioned it, but I had read about similar problem in users ratings of other clients of this hotel. Therefore hotel staff may should check payment procedure by payment/credit cards in their hotel.

This hotel was a little disappointing. Our room was very cold. We had to ask for the heating to be switched on and then the floor remained icy as hot air only entered at ceiling level. The hotel is a small one in the old centre. The room had two single beds (common for Europe, was small and dark, and faced the back of the building.
