Hotel Casa Morisca - Granada

Great location with free parking. We loved our rooms (we had two). Each are unique and so different than staying at a chain hotel.

Casa Morisca Hotel is a lovely boutique style hotel in an excellent location. It is a comfortable 10-15 minute stroll along the Darro river embankment to the Plaza Nuevo and at the foot of the Alhambra. The rooms are very comfortable,an we would recommend a room on the street side with a small balcony that provides an airy feel to the rooms. The staff provided some very good dining tips ( Los Manuelos in particular was excellent ) and there are several cafe / bars within a couple of minutes walk for an evening drink and light entertainment.

We changed our itinerary and booked an additional night direct with the hotel. However, despite my emailed confirmation, there appeared to be some confusion on arrival and we were placed in a ground floor room next to the front door. It was pretty disappointing for the price we were paying. It smelled of cigarette smoke and the shower cubicle in the bathroom leaked, so it was impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom floor. It was only after I asked if this was the "superior" room that we had booked that the hotel offered to move us for the other three nights. The room we had for the rest of our stay was very pleasant and we had a great view towards the Alhambra. The hotel is a beautifully restored 15th century merchant's house, complete with an internal courtyard with a pool, which was delightful. Unfortunately the hotel did not have any public spaces that encouraged you to linger or to be sociable. The result was a rather isolating experience. The room was expensive and the pricing led us to expect at least four star treatment. The overall delivery was definitely three star and did not feel value for money.

A beautiful small hotel at the foot of the Alhambra

Beautiful little hotel, with very helpful staff in a great location. We arrived by car and missed one of the directions. Driving around the narrow streets in the Albyzan area was not for the faint hearted. A map would have been useful.

staff were very helpful. this is appreciated for first time visitors from another country. I will recommend the hotel to any friends traveling to Grenada
