Hotel Carmen - Granada

Very lovely lobby and sitting areas. Our room was small and clean with a quaint little patio overlooking a narrow walkway below. It is a noisy street scene in Granada but our 4th floor room was quiet and we slept great. The breakfast buffet was very good although if not timed right, one could find a line. We only took a snack in the hotel bar which was not memorable, but handy. We would recommend a restaurant just around the corner for an authentic dinner experience called Posado del Duende. The owner was delightful and the food was excellent and reasonable. The hotel offered a nice enough stay and good value and we would stay there again for sure. The sights in this town make it a "must not miss" destination.

The hotel need to stress upon guests the importance of being quiet specially those with children. There were children in my floor even running & playing in the corridor

Apart from the amazing price (44e, per night, double in JULY), we loved the spacious rooms, the rooftop terrace (view of the Alhambra!) with dipping pool, lounges (to lie in the sun), great bar. We ate lunch at an ordinary workingman's bar, the Bar Aliator (Calle San Sebastian): amazing, delicious little bocadillos. Supper at Casa Enrique on the same street as your hotel (towards the Alhambra): unbeatable quality of tapas (the duck pate beats France? yes!). Also, a fantastic "jamon" lunch at La Cueva.

breakfast is very good, room was shabby and the shower was terrible. work was being done to the cafe no sign to say sorry etc.
