Constant background noise of strange 'building' sounds (like fans or heaters or water pipes) in a changing pattern throughout the night and a rather uncomfortable bed were the downsides. However, it is good value, decent location, very friendly staff and welcoming. Not a bad option certainly.

This hotel is very hard to find. It is on a small street with access from only one direction because of the innumerable one-way streets in this part of town. Staff are pleasant, multii-lingual and helpful. No food services or breakfast here.

This place was a little oasis in a not so nice looking street. Pls don't let that put you off. It was quiet, pretty and just a pleasant stay. Hotel staff were great and all spoke english. Only 5 mins from train station by taxi, only 1 street away from the crowds. Lovely place. Recommended to a couple we met who were going to Granada. We also booked a great flamenco show thru them.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Yes, the hotel may appear to be in a "seedy" area, but appearances are deceptive. There is graffiti on just about every wall in Granada! The staff are fantastic. The area has wonderful cafes for breakfast and bars for tapas in the evening. It's an easy walk down the Gran Via Colon, and access to all the main buses.

Good bed, bed lights and bathroom. attractively furnished for budget hotel. Rooms quiet if facing attractive internal courtyard. Outside rooms face quiet street but friends found it noisy from drunks in the middle of the night. Would be OK if you closed windows but air conditioning noisy. Only fresh air in our internal room came from windows which had no security from outside landing access. We placed plastic chair on shutters and this would have fallen off if entry attempted. Very conveniently situated hotel. Could be hard to find by car as door to hotel blended into streetscape. Convenient secure garage facilities immediately opposite.

When we pulled up to the hotel my traveling companion didn't even want to get out of the taxi because the neighborhood looked so rough. Then we went in, and what a wonderful surprise! It was charming, friendly, and totally safe. Since the entire place is enclosed, we slept with our windows open and had no fear of instrusion. The neighborhood turned out not to be a problem at all. I would have liked to stay a week and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We loved this hotel for everything. Room authentic room set up and atomospher. Very helpful staff and good service. Guest can order pizza delivery. Can use a computer for internet access for low rate. Hotel are close to Cafes, all kind of shops, bus stations to Alhambra and Airport bus. 15 min walk to center of Granada atractions. Hotel can not reserve Alhambra entry. We are advised to line up to obtain entry ticket for Alhambra at 7:30 am. We went to Alhambra before 7 am to obtain the tickets. But it was worth. Our stay was mid October so we did not need heater or air condition in the room. Amenity were provided. May hot in Summer if you stay in the room during the day.

Difficult to find. It is located off the Street San Juan De Dios but I found it difficult to find the little street Triana Baja on the map... lovely staff very helpful in general... Perfect for the budget traveller

Abadia hotel was one of the most pleasant stay in my entire 2 months travel. The service was really good, from welcoming me to the hotel, answering all questions with the smile, to going extra step to make sure i am comfortable. The room has wood work everywhere, which was nice, good big bed and big bathroom. Decent location, not too close to the center but supermarket is close, parks, restaurants...I would def recommend staying there. Price is fantastic for what they offer.

Nice hotel in an area which at first looks a little bit unsafe, but it isn't. a 20 minute walk leads to the city centre and it is very close to bus stops. the room was very big and it had a fridge, but the air conditioning system didn't cool up the room as we hoped and it was too noisy at night.

We arrived at the hotel by taxi via what seemed like an unsafe lane and were very apprehensive. However, having read the reviews, we hoped all would be well and it definitely was! It is a very pleasant and easy walk to the city and Cathedral. The hotel staff were all very helpful, competent and spoke very good English. On arrival, they gave us a map of the area and suggested ways of getting to the Alhambra. We caught a taxi (about 6euros)there as we were anxious to be on time. On the way back we caught the public bus,as recommended, which stops a block from the hotel. It cost about 1.20 euro each and was a great ride through the old Arab quarter, the Albaicín, and then part of the city. The hotel also recommended going to the Albaicin to see the Alhambra at sunset. We took the bus I have previously mentioned. It was a spectacular sight and we have wonderful photos. The hotel's courtyard is very pretty. We had a room on the 1st floor, facing the road, (more of a lane) which was not a problem. There is a lift. The room was spacious, clean and had a fridge (usually not provided). We bought some fruit, yoghurt, juice and water from a nearby store and were happy to have a healthier breakfast. We stayed at the Abadia for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitalty. We have booked through Venere.com on many occasions and have found the reviews to be trustworthy, and the whole booking process very user friendly.

The ABADIA is a jewel in a somewhat poor neighborhood (however, we felt completely safe at all times). It is situated within a few minutes' walk to central bus connections, to both the central bus station in the north and the Alhambra in the south. Two reasonable supermarkets are close by. Some people may miss the breakfast (however, northerners will usually not miss the standard Spanish breakfast anyway). We were quite happy with a boiler to get tea or coffee anytime (the hotel offers the necessary items if needed) and a refrigerator. The hotel is indeed very romantic with its beautiful courtyard/patio. A nice place to sit outside on a summer evening with a bottle of red wine (recommendation: Marquez de Carceres, € 7 at the supermarket). The hotel is situated in a very quiet surrounding. The employees are very friendly and competent.

Abadía was an excellent value for the money. We stayed for one week in July in a courtyard-facing room. There were large windows in our room which could be fully opened, giving it an open-air feeling and letting some light in. The room was very spacious for the price we paid, with a little seating area off to the side, and surprisingly a tub - with jets - as well as a shower. I would agree with previous reviewers that the water in the shower isn't super-hot, however, it was not just luke warm either. It was fine and didn't bother us. AC worked well. The location of the hotel was great, near Calle Elvira which has lots of bars, tea and pastry shops, and a cute little wine bar that we loved, Al Sur de Granada. They had wonderful wine, cheeses and salumi, and local flamenco acts for just 6 Euro. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the main plaza in Granada, and its a walk lined with shops and people at all hours. Taxis congregate at the top of the street and there is a small grocery only 2 minutes walk. Our room had a mini-fridge and they let guests use the Internet in the lobby no charge. We loved the Hammam baths, set up by the hotel, but don't bother paying extra for the special hammam massage, it was more of an exfoliation and we wished we would have just gotten the regular massage. We would definitely recommend Abadía and stay here again when in Granada.

No complaints about room or service. The location is a little out of the way for sights in downtown Granada, but handy to public buses for the Alhambra. Parking options are limited - the hotel's own garage for 14E/night, or cheaper but inconvenient public parking which the hotel staff describe as risky.

Staff spoke impressive English & were very efficient and helpful. Though in a relatively poor street the restoration & adaption of the building were an impressive achievement. And it was an easy walk to the city centre. We liked the open, central courtyard - though the payback is noise from other guests, as all windows face this. This also presents a privacy problem if you prefer fresh air to the noisy air-conditioning!

Clean, friendly, helpful, multilingual and a wonderful courtyard for relaxing. a bit tricky to find initially but one phone call soon fixed that. Fantastic central location. Great tips about visiting the Alhambra and you should take advantage of the moorish baths they can book for you.

For the price we have to pay it was a reasonable room and reasonable distance from attractions. Things which we did not like: bad smell in the bathroom, small window which opened on the balcony where other customers go their rooms, warm water - impossible to take a hot shower in the morning.

A lovely small hotel that has character. Very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Hotel is located in a less touristy area, less than 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Wonderful hotel, and the staff was very helpful, whether asking for directions or calling a taxi. A restful place after a day at the Alhambra. Would stay there again.

Is ok for people without car, because the hotel is in a little road, difficult to reach. on the map is not indicated that the front road is oneway only, so we arrived near the hotel, but we have to do a long tour to take the correct oneway direction.
