Double glazing would be nice as room locates on roadside. Can't comment in value as stayed for Cheltenham Festival so ALL hotel prices are hiked up, that said was good value compared to others! Perfect location for The Festival. Hotel now undergoing a complete refurbishment, why I don't know?! Will DEFINITELY BE BACK BEXT YEAR AND FUTURE ONES IF STANDARDS REMAIN!

Everything was fine with a couple of exceptions. We stayed in room 2 and stayed up quite late with relatives. We had a meal in the hotel which was good, we felt that we had overstayed our welcome at the end of the night as the staff seemed a little miffed that we were late leaving the bar. I must add that we spent over £200 that night at the bar and restaurant. After the late night we were awakened at approx. 6:00am with the door outside our room banging closed. This went on for the next couple of hours until we got out of bed. This banging was very loud and spoiled what was a very good stay. We did highlight this to the receptionist At breakfast I ordered smoked salmon and poached egg, my egg was slightly uncooked. I didn't complain, I just scraped the uncooked bit off the egg and ate the rest. My partner ordered scrambled egg and one sausage. The sausage was very undercooked and pink inside. being a pork sausage was possibly dangerous. We mentioned this to the waitress who offered to change it but my partner declined. apart from these issues we felt the stay overall was excellent value for money and would stay again should the opportunity arise

I took my elderly mother away for a few days as a treat, as she had never been to Gloucester before.. The Royal George was lovely and the breakfast wonderful, It was great to see my mother enjoying fresh fruit salad and a full english, as she never eats breakfast at home! She has already told me that I'm taking her back there soon! Thank you for making me and my mum very happy.

I stayed in a family room with two friends. We are all retired. The hotel interior presents as somewhat 'down at heel' with bannisters and other areas in need of painting. Our room was up three flights of stairs - no lift - but was clean and very spacious, if a little dark. The facilities and amenities were fine. The staff were pleasant and helpful and our room was pleasingly cleaned each day. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice of cold and hot. The dining area showed distinct signs of age, but was pleasant enough. We ate in the hotel restaurant each night and the food was good, hot, plentiful and a reasonable price. The Royal George is set in a beautiful, little Cotswald village and overall we felt that we had enjoyed an excellent three-day stay at a very agreable three-star price . We would recommend it.
