Slightly basic, reminded me of student hall of residence circa 1980, but cheap and cheerful with good staff, nice breakfast, and conveniently located near city centre in a quiet back street

Good location, quiet residential street but easy walk to bus downtown. Very helpful staff. Parking would be a big problem but we lucked out and got a spot directly in front. Very difficult to find even with a detailed map because of small one-way streets. Directions would have been helpful.

The reception was frosty. The lady seemed depressed and not to like people staying at the guest house. the public spaces were among the worst we have ever experienced - and we are used to budget hotels. The room was not bad. the whole place was painted variations of light brown but had seen better days. The breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent.

We changed our room because the first one was very small and a bit noisy, then it was PERFECT. We spend 2 additional days in this hotel. Good located, quiet area.

First stay at this guesthouse, enjoyed it very much. At walking distance from the station ,the city centre, the shops and restaurants.Ideal for sightseeing.Rather noisy but in an old building it is quite usual (nervertheless slept very well!) Very nice scottish breakfast .Will choose it again.

Good place to sleep a few nights, located very close to the city center and all attractions. Kind and helpful staff. If you're looking for a quite place, with a moderate expense, this might be the right choice.

2 couples stayed 1 Saturday night in July. the location was very good, close to nightlife. we came in at 2am, but the guest house was so loud it was unbearable. there were hen parties all night long. every time some opened one of the firedoors separating halls of rooms, the door slammed shut. not recommended for anyone who actually wants to sleep.

This Guest house was excellent for its proximity to the School of Art just down the road, and for its central position for exploring on foot 15 mins either way, the city centre and the older West side of the city with its cobbled streets, parks and university. The staff were friendly and welcoming, homely, resourceful, yet you could also be anonymous quite happily. A real mix of clientele made it feel very European. Breakfast was tasty, arrived promptly, hot freshly cooked. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with opened sash windows for fresh air and birdsong in the morning, otherwise very quiet, given its location on Renfrew St. Possibly the perfect definition of a guest house, with excellent value for money.
