Did not seem to be a lounge bar. Not sure it was licensed. One member of staff seemed to be doing everything - reception cooking etc. Front bedroom was fine but not cushioned from the noise of the traffic outside. Overall good for the money.

Though it is away from the city centre, there is a high ceiling with a small kitchen in my room. Their staff is very helpful - she helped us to find a map to a hotel in Inverness countryside. Thank you for their arrangment!

The room was adequate for the price, but very small. There was no central heating but only electric radiators and the weather was bitterly cold. The hotel does not have a spirits licence for the bar. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel location excellent for transport and Byers Road shops.

Good location for walking along river, Byres Road, restaurants and pubs. Several oubs had live music the Salon seemed to be a happening place. The rooms were silent all night and day long.

We were upgraded to the self catering rooms, maybe because I asked for a ground floor room. We still had breakfast included, only negative was you had to go outside to then go next door for breakfast. Whatever the reason for the upgrade I was delighted the building is beautiful and the room so large I could have lived in it!

At the first sight of the apartment, we've wished to stay more nights there: it was big, lightly and beautiful. People were very kindly, breakfast was great and tasty, the situation next to the Botanical Gardens was also very good. We'll love to come back.

Booked a twin room which was not available on arrival and ended up in two single rooms which were cold but otherwise OK

I stayed in room 6 which was a nice room, but one electric socket didn't work and also there was no hot water for use with the basin - I hope this gets fixed. Apart from that the area is lovely, enough parking, the welcome/stay was fantastic. Thank you.

We ordered a triple room and when we got there we were given a double room and a single room meaning one person was left on their own. We were charged £20.00 for a late check-out (3 hours!!). I have stayed before in the apartment block which was fantastic but the hotel is just ok. Was annoyed that they mucked up our room and still charged us £20.00 to check out at 1400 hours instead of 1100 hours. The hotel is perfectly situated though right next to Botanic Gardens and round the corner from Byres Road where the pubs, restraurants and shops are situated in the West End.

Main concern: a 3 star hotel in a chilly place like Glasgow - and no central heating! There were free-standing plug in radiators in rooms but these were off & rooms cold on arrival. Public spaces very cold - we had to switch on the radiator ourselves in breakfast room. Also when one of our party arrived, man in 70s, windows open and rooms very cold. Nowhere secure to store luggage whilst waiting for rooms upon arrival & after vacating rooms on leaving. Some of us travelled separately & when the late arrival asked whether the rest of us had arrived he was told we had not - despite the fact that we'd had a long conversation with woman on reception and she'd shown us where to leave our luggage (in breakfast room & not secure: see note above)

I booked two double rooms and then I've had the surprise to receive one twin and one double. Bad welcoming with anticipated payment and nobody helping me to move my luggage to the second floor (without elevator!). Little rooms and poor services. It is similar to a B&B or a guest house.

I was suprised at how small the hotel was. It basically looked like a townhouse. The manager was not as friendly as the other hotels we had stayed at. Then we had to lug our luggage up two flights of steps. Also, there is no reception after 10 at night. It seemed more like a B&B than a hotel. The room was nice, but small, and our window barely cracked open, which is not good at the end of July. So, the room did not cool off until the middle of the night.

Convenient access by car, and well-situated for Western areas of Glasgow (e.g. Loch Lomond). A little far out of town (but for that reason easy to get to!), for city centre attractions. Adjacent to delightful Botanic Gardens, worth a visit. Reasonable selection of local eating establishments. Check out Ashton Lane (behind Hindhead Metro station) about 10 mins walk from hotel, for an assortment of "trendy" nightspots/eating/drinking.

Beware of the upgrades! When we checked in they failed to tell us that we needed to turn the hot water on, and register our phones. when we returned to our "apartment" we could not make any phone calls because the office was closed and we could not use our phone card on the pay phone in the lobby. At midnight the power went out and we then found out that we needed to feed the meter with pounds to keep electricity on. We did not feed in enough for the remainder of the night and the power was out before our alarms could go off. Hence, we were late and cold in the morning! The towels in the bathroom were not fresh. I assume used. None of their phones accept credit cards I was very dissappointed and my husband was furious. So much for the great price and the nice big room.

Booked a triple room and we were amazed to be staying in a massive fully furnished apartment which could sleep up to 5 people. Location second to none - pubs and club literally less than 5 minute walk. Can't wait to go back!! EXCELLENT!!!!

I didn't spend a lot of time in the room. However, I found the staff to be very welcoming and the room clean and comfortable. The only negative comment I would make is that the alarm clock wasn't working properly. The button appeared to be broken. I didn't notice it until very late and needed it to wake up for an early flight.

Lovely spot, the woman that was running things (Morag?) made our stay just perfect. We didn't check in till 10 PM but she waited up for us and when we asked for early breakfast so we could get on the road, she got up and served up a great hot breakfat a half an hour earlier than the posted time. Thank you for wonderful hospitality.

Put in apartments which are next to hotel. Clean and very spacious room. Helpful staff. Attractive quiet location overlooking river Kelvin and Botanic Gardens. Only drawback was only heating in apartment was provided by electric radiatiors.
