Incident: Woman dress forgotten in the room locker at the time of departure and claimed few hours later, was reported by receptionist as not found by the cleaning service (!??), and later reply from hotel unacceptable: It was neither found by the cleaning woman nor taken away by her since "it would not suit her size" This incident spoiled the experience. Such "loss" has always been recovered in other occassion and hotels when happened.

The location was unattractive and somewhat inconvenient. It was a 15+ minute walk into the city along a noisy and uninteresting stretch of road.

Everything was excellent. The only thing I regret (and could be improved) is not having breakfast inlcuded in the price.

I can whole heartedly recommend the Costabella Hotel. Easy access to the city, pleasant staff, affordable.

A szálloda a város szélén van, a kórház mellett, de jár busz, 2-es számmal, rögtön a buszpályaudvar mellől indul (a kórháznál kell leszállni, ez elvileg a végállomás, de figyelni kell). A szálló tiszta, a szoba is jó, a személyzet kedves, a leírtak fedik a valóságot. Everything was absolutely OK. I recommend this hotel. If you don't have a car, you can reach the hotel with bus number 2 from the autobus station (apx. 10 mins). You have to take off at the hospital, and from there only few steps.

Breakfast is really great. Bathroom needs some renovation, the tiles around the bath are in bad condition. Dinner menu is rather short, not very much to chose from. We had one serious problem though at departure. Although we reminded the staff previous night that we need early departure to catch our flight, we could not find anyone at the reception. After 10 minutes we found one man in the kitchen making breakfast, who was also the receptionist. The credit card machine did not work and he kept saying our card is not valid. After some loud discussion he realised he had another machine that finally worked. Then he could not print our invoice due to a paper jam. As our taxi was waiting outside we decided to leave. Returning home I asked the hotel to fax me the invoice, which they did, but it was charging a higher amount than our reservation showed. I called the hotel and they corrected the invoice and returned the overcharged money, however this incident did spoil our stay otherwise fine in the hotel.

Nice common rooms with TV's, chess games etc...great if you don't want to be stuck in your room. Only fault was that there was no restaurant, only a fast food delivery service.

Hotel was conveniently located near the city center. About a 5 minute walk. They had bikes to borrow, but only have one lock. My only gripe was that I had a non-smoking room, yet it smelled like the room smoked a pack a day.

Was unfortunate enough to have a very loud shouting Spanish couple in the room next to us so sleep was a very scarce commodity.

Hotel is on the edge of town, but easy walk to main tourist area. Free parking and free Internet access. The breakfast is great.

We arrived at night at Girona's airport and we had to pay 32 euro for the taxi to arrive at the hotel. In the surronding area no places were available for dinner and we did not want to pay again to go to the city centre. So, in the end we did not have dinner. That's why I would suggest this hotel for people travelling by car or staying more than one night.Anyway, the room was nice, clean and quite big. The breakfast was superb.

I feel as an off season price it was rather expensive for what it was. The driving directions provided weren't particularly detailed but it wasn't difficult to find. It is only about 10 minutes (tops) to the town. The hotel, however was pleasant, clean and not noisy!

We chose the hotel because it had a swimming pool. Unfortunately it was too cold to swim in the outdoor pool and I thought I had read somewhere that there was an indoor one, but it turned out to be a jacuzzi. Being elderly it was quite an ordeal to walk all the way into the centre of Girona and back and the buses were not as frequent as we would have liked. Therefore we paid out quite a sum for taxis, and they were not too plentiful. One other very small point- we came down for breakfast about 9 a.m. and the hot buffet items were not very hot.

The hotel itself is as advertised except it is not as close to the city center as I believed. However, there is a local bus that stops a few feet from the hotel and it goes into the town center. It costs 1.15 euros. There is a Carrefour market nearby and a cinempex with latest movies. However, the hotel is not very quiet. There was a lot of noise from adjoining guest rooms, slamming doors, loud talking etc. and the lobby in the morning is very busy. Breakfast is a little expensive, but it has a good selection. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful.

excellent hotel for short stay in Gerona , as easy to find by car from airport , and only 15 min walk to the "old town" , and has a pool.

The hotel has a great outside open area for relaxing after visiting Girona. Girona centre is 15 minutes walk from the hotel (no need to take the buses, which are not more frequent than 20-30 minutes) and the walk is absolutely safe. Service of very good standard.

The Hotel Costa Bella is an excellent venue! I would not have chosen it for a 2nd year running had it not been so. Given its location, I am quite aware that many businessmen/women use the hotel on a regular basis and thus rise early to take breakfast before going to work. Nevertheless, during our stay, 27/5-02/06 2007, there was an equal amount of tourists. Conversation between tourists remarked upon the unacceptable amount of noise, especially from "high heels" in corridors at early times in the morning. A lack of corridor carpet/rugs might be the cause of this. Sound travels more easily on hard floors! Some "early risers" were actually very loud both with shoes and voices at only 7.00 am, and I find this unacceptable! Complaint aside, I would recommend Costa Bella to anyone visitng Girona for either a short or long stay. JPS, Brighton

We were only there one night, and arrived late in the evening. The staff were courtious and helpful. Breakfast was buffet, lots to choose from and set us up for the day ahead, I think good value for money. This hotel would suit others who like us are on the late night Ryanair flight and wanted a simple journey wih no hassle from the Girona airport. We took advantage of a relaxing walk the following day around Girona city walls before taking the train to Barcelona.

Rooms are nice, breakfast is very good, I stayed there just one night, but I enjoyed it. Just one negative aspect. It's not so distant by the center, however it's not easy to reach it on foot and in the nearby there are not shops or restaurants.

Would have never imagined to get such a nice big room fully equipped for only 64 euros. Check out for the sauna, jacuzzi and gym zone. Not too far from the centre but we always used taxi (5 euros) to avoid walking in the traffic since it's big roads to get there. Got unlucky with a group coming back at 4 o'clock screaming, laughing and clashing doors...they were useless idiots but the insonorization of rooms is actually rather poor. Would come back anyway anytime.

Although not in the centre of town, the hotel was well within easy walking distance of the interesting old quarter. If arriving by rail, it is probably best to take a taxi. Our stay in this very quiet, comfortable and spotless hotel was made all the more pleasant due to the friendliness of the reception-desk staff, who spoke excellent English. We would certainly come again!

I sought this property out expressly for the pool, which, despite its size (smallish), was very enjoyable. My room was smaller than I would have liked as a double used as a single but very clean - excellent bathroom and everything I needed (except a little more space, but I saw the doubles were spacious enough). As so many people have commented, it is a little out of the city, but not prohibitively so IF you 1) have a car - I drove into the town and parked in the free parking along the river since I didn't want to walk home alone after dark or 2) have no mobility issues. Otherwise, perfectly enjoyable Relaxation and Rest visit and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to people just wanting to rest and enjoy the pool.

A mixed group of ten work colleagues on a leisure break. Despite the fact that its not in town it is only a ten minute walk, and well protected from noise. The place is spotless, the staff helpful, though if you try to get the number 2 bus to the rail station beware, it never sems to turn up!Would return!

This was a great place to stay. The rooms were airy, the bathrooms spotless and the front-desk extremely competent. It is a little out of the main part of the city, but Girona being as small as it is, this was not a problem. We found that we could just walk to the main tourist spots, in less than 15 minutes. We did not eat here, so we cant comment on the food though. All things considered, great place to stay and great value for money.

We found this to be an excellent hotel with very welcoming staff. We were looking to be on the budget side but were very pleasantly surprised at the quality for the cost. It’s not in the centre of town; it’s about a 15min walk from the Cathedral end which makes it about 30mins from the bus/rail station. It’s quite easy to find even though the girl at the tourist info at the station thought we were mad to be walking that far! Our ‘double’ room had two very comfortable single beds, great shower and reasonably priced mini bar. We had not stayed in any hotels in this chain before but would not hesitate to do so again. If you don’t mind being a bit out of town(and it does say so in the description) then this was great quality for the cost.

Although the hotel looked as bit rough on the outside it was superb inside. Very clean; air-conditioned; quiet even though on a main road; and close to the city centre. The surroundings are a bit naff - part of it overlooks a building site, but hey, that's Spain! Staff were fantastic, and spoke good English (and Fench). We recommend the breakfast - superb value.

The quality of this hotel is excellent. It looks new, and the employees (who all seem to speak english) were very helpful, and took great pride in their hotel. The bedroom was large by US standards (like an upscale embassy suites) and both bedroom and bathroom were spotless. The hotel is too far to walk from the train station (take a taxi, ride costs 5 euros) but we walked down the hill to the cathedral and "old town" without difficulty. I recommend this hotel highly, and would definitely stay there. Meals in the restaurant were expensive, and there were no other alternatives for breakfast close by the hotel, so you are pretty much stuck unless you have a car. The food was good, however, and there was a wide selection of choices.
