We very much enjoy our time at Villa Pagoda. It was a very relaxed and restful stay. The close proximity to the Passagiatta (sp) was very exciting. We enjoyed walking each day along the sea. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Thank you.

The Venere website for the Hotel states that hotel is "a few metres from Nervi train station". This is completely untrue. The station is about 1 kilometre from the hotel and when we rang to ask directions we were advised by the hotel to get a taxi. The taxi cost $11 Euro, which was a rip off for a 5 minute ride. However the hotel has beautiful rooms and grounds, and there is a back access to the Nervi esplanade which is one of the best places to walk anywhere in the world. Simply fabulous. The esplanade can be used to access the station as well but when you first arrive you don't know that and you need keys to get in an out. Be awre also that Nervi does not have beaches. You can swim but all the forshore is rocks and not easily accessed. The hotel does NOT have it's own beach access.

The rooms do not have a good energy about them. They are too dark. The beds and pillows are not comfortable. This hotel is overpriced in my opinion. Stay in Santa Margherita instead.

Without a doubt, the best hotel we used on our trip to Italy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the restaurant is recommended for its excellent food and wines. The rooms are very individual and the service is that what one expects. We did not hear the trains at all. Furthermore, the location is perfect for trips as well as enjoying the promenade on the coast. This hotel is very suitable for a short getaway for couples, romatik or not, and offers great value for money. If there is anything to be improved, I would suggest to make the entire place non-smoking.

We had two very nice nights in Villa Pagoda. Employees were so good and very kind. The place was very romantik and the rooms were so nice. This is a very very good option to be in Genoa. I had been some times in other hotels in the city but they were ugly compairing with this beautiful place. VERY NICE !!!!

Unfortunately the train which passes close by the hotel disturbes very much. The parking also was very loud until 2 am. J was travelling alone.

BEST value for the money and super elegant... location is fabulous, truly free and safe parking, restaurant was excellent and we ordered everything and dinner for 2 and it was ONLY 77 euro with THE BEST of everything...... there really was air conditioning and it really worked properly, our room was truly spacious (like at home) with an excellent bathroom, fabulous views, a little veranda, comfortable king bed, clean and lovely period decoration. The Villa Pagoda is one of several palazzos along the sea walk in Nirvi....you get a key to their private entrance to the sea walk which is a wonderful way to walk off those lovely meals and along the way you can visit 3 lovely museums with entrances on the sea walk with parks and gardens, the modern art is the best, you can get a "Nirvi card" for all 3 attractions... the sea is lovely and you can see Portofino's peninsula to the left..we have stayed at much more expensive properties in Italy recently and I must say this was a super bargain with top notch quality everything...however, if you want to swim, you have to go to one of the swim clubs and pay 4 euro to use these facilites, it was a bit too chill while we were there....you can walk the full 1.5 km walk to the little fishing town and have a nice snack or meal at different spots there and watch the ocean kayakers do their thing...probably could rent one too if you know what you are doing, the sea can be rough there and there are many large dramatic cliffs and rocks....A few of the employees were not superb but they were all friendly and gracious and the management is family and they will do anything they can for you....If you have a car and want to see a bit of Genoa too it is easy to get to town and park near the harbor and walk up to the historic center and well worth it(plenty of public transit too).... I have been to Portofino, Positano, Rapallo, etc and this was definitely the best value and not as tourist filled and crowded but also not as pristine. We didn

Not a good value. Rooms were not as nice as depicted. Pictures were deceiving. Breakfast was not included, to our surprise. Hotel was too expensive for its quality and location -- my colleagues stayed at nicer places that were more convenient, less expensive, and included breakfast. I was disappointed given what we paid.

My husband and I spent one night at the Romantik during our honeymoon through Italy. The surrounding area is lovely, and hotel guests are allowed access to a locked passage that leads to a breathtaking walk along the water and cliffs, dotted with restaurants at various price ranges. The room itself was larger than expected, and the decor was beautiful and comfortable. Other reviews mentioned a noisy train, and, though we heard it, it didn't affect our sleep at all--no earplugs required for us. The hotel offers lots of services including ayurvedic massage and swimming, although we didn't try any of them because we were only there a day. Still, the walk along the water, and the views provided, were some of our best memories--and photos!--from our two-week trip. The town of Nervi is small and quaint, though a bit tough to navigate by car, as we were doing. We would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a beautiful room and locale.

The Romantik Hotel Villa Pagoda was a quiet retreat in a very frenetic city. The location by the sea was beautiful and the prommenade along the shore a wonderful walk. The hotel itself was rated a four star[?]perhaps with a few gaps. The bar service was poor as the result of an obvious employee management dispute. Our evening meal was good however interupted by the sorting of silverware.I would recommend it with a few reservations. A wonderful place. We enjoyed the stay very much. Nice decorated rooms. Only the railway directly in front of the hotel is a little disturbing. Great food in the restaurant by high level prices. Over all very recommandable.

It was absolutely breathtaking! I love to tell my friends that we stayed in a Villa on the Italian Riviera and it was a dream come true. The location was in our opinion far better than staying in Genoa because our purpose was to visit Cinque Terre, Portofino and the surrounding picturesque fishing villages and traveling to these areas was extremely easy. The promenade that takes you to the little town of Nervi has one of the most beautiful scenery anyone could wish for. A stay at the Villa Pagoda is synonymous with experiencing pure paradise at it's finest.

A fantastic hotel, without a doubt one of best we've stayed in throughout Italy and considering its quality we found it very reasonably priced. Reception was very welcoming and helpful, the rooms, hotel grounds and general public areas beautiful and spacious. If you stay here you must spend at least one evening having dinner on the beautiful terrace area. You’ll have a wonderful evening! The train's going through at the foot of the garden were quite noisy and were the only thing to put a dampener on an otherwise wonderful hotel. Well situated for a driving holiday around the coastline with easy access to Ravello, Portofino and Santa Margareta which are easily the three must see’s along the Riveria. Highly recommended!

A beautiful facility with gracious staff. Exceedingly spacious, clean and in a gorgeous setting. It was even remarkably easy to find, following the website directions. Access to Garibaldi promenade a real bonus. Great experience!

I recommend this hotel for its excellent food and service and pleasant rooms and ambiance. My only complaint concerns smoking in the lounge which, because of the open design, can fill the hotel and guest rooms with smoke. The hotel would benefit greatly from a closed smoking area and a non-smoking section in the restaurant.
