I've chosen the Veronese hotel because of its charm and location near the old city. I arrived with my family a day early to catch the ferry to Corsica & we enjoyed our stay in the city & at the hotel very much.

nice hotel, it was our second stay there It is a pitty that nobody in the hotel -in a big city like Genova -speeks any other language than Italian.

I participated on a scientific conference held nearby in Porto Antico. I enjoyed excellent location of the Veronese hotel in a easy walking distance and simultaneously in the middle of the historical old town. The hotel was quiet and people friendly, their knowledge of English however very limited.

Perfect location for a conference at the Magazini de Cottone conference center, or for touristic visits (right at Porto Antico, Acquarium, Antarctic Museum, Maritime Museum, and lots of good restaurants nearby). Good Breakfast, very friendly and helpful employees, though the night porter does not speak any English or German.

When we booked in March the price was between 90 and 110 euros we were asked for 115. Iknow that this was not much of an increase, but it was more than was on the web site.

The hotel is in a very busy area of Genova (right across from the docks) with little parking near the hotel. The parking garage was 3 blocks away and was expensive. The alley that you walk through to get to the hotel entrance was dark and did not make us feel very secure. Upon our arrival, the desk clerk was nice but she did not speak any English, which is not what you want to find out after you get to a hotel. The lack of a lift was a nuissance, but the room was actually a 2-bedroom unit and was larger than expected. All in all, we would try a different accomodation on our next visit.

We were met by the manager and he was very helpful. He recommended a great restaurant to us and it was a special experience. The area was a bit sketchy but not bad. We were only going to be there one night and it suited our purposes just fine. Everything worked in the room and it was clean.

A very nice hotel with a most welcoming and friendly service. Just in line with expectations given on the web site. Our only minus is the directions given when arriving by car. They should be more detailed so that they can actually be used for guidance.

Nice hotel close to the the "new" old harbour with parking, restaurants and shopping. If you are staying in the heart of the city, this is a nice hotel.

The hotel itsefl is no bad, the woman in the reception was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, as well as common areas, but I cant say the same about windows, and courtains... they lack a wash... But the really bad thing is location in the city: it is situated in a bit dirty, tiny street, half block away from the avenue bordering the port. The sorroundings fell very unsafe and dirty and noisy. The location given by map in your website just say something like "follow the direction to the Aquarium".Ok, I said, but there are many different ways to go there. The best thing was breakfast.

The staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpful, they made us feel really welcome. The situation is perfect for visiting the tourist attractions. The room was spacious and clean, good shower but the hair dryer was broken. Breakfast was also good for an italian breakfast.

The location is good for walking the city, which is why we chose this property. The weather was very cold when we were there and it would have been good to have some place to go and eat inside the property we were staying at, if you want anything more than a room, do not stay here. Our room was on an alley and it was VERY NOISY, all night long. The room is just Ok, very sparce, tiny TV, basically just a room to spend the night in. One window in the room and it looks out on a tight alley. This would be an excellent place to stay if you just want a room close to walking the old town. The owners were very nice and very accomodating!

The location of the hotel was very good although in the evenings the neighbourhood was not very nice to walk alone. In the bathroom there was a smell of mould but otherwise my small room was very clean and the personnel of the hotel was very nice. I would choose the same hotel if I'll return to Genova.

Very difficult to find if you don't know: it is right in front of the Aquarium. Park where the taxi are and look in the alleys! It is not on the street. It is a small pedestrian walkway. It smell the fish around but once inside, it is fine. It is right in the port so the walk at night is not great if you know what I mean!

Difficult to get to by car due to restoration work going on in Genoa (for the city of culture 2004), opposite the aquarium down a small alley. No chance of parking in the streets, so took receptions advice and parked in a carpark 5 minutes walk away (12 euros overnight) Room comfortable and clean. Aircon and shower both worked well. Reasonable breakfast of croissants coffee or tea.

Very nice hotel located in a quiet little street in front of the "Aquario" and very close to the historic centre and monuments. Very warm welcome. You can park the car in an independent garage but fares are fairly expensive.

this hotel is very difficult to find because it's very uneasy to park in front of the hotel. Moreover there is no parking near the hotel as it is indicated in the brochure. It will cost you an additional 20 € if you park your car in a public parking. Once you are at the hotel, the employees are competent and the rooms are clean. The hotel is really in the center of the old genova and everything is at a walking distance.

All excellent, even the air condition was on in the room during the abscence. But (detail): no bread sundays at the breakfast. The hotel is beautyful, like Genova at all. Professional reception.

The lack of sunlight in the mornings was compensated by the coolness of the room in the afternoons. A typical room in a Genoese building with NO sunlight all day.

Small, comfortable, clean and very friendly hotel, fantastic location, plenty to do nearby, lots of good restaurants and bars. Staff very friendly and helpful, good value for money. Area nearby can be very lively and a little noisy, probably not for a family with young children. Overall, an excellent stay, we had a great time in Genoa.

We had great difficulty finding the hotel as it is up a narrow alleyway, with no easily-visible signage nor vehicle access. This is not mentioned in the directions published on the Internet. Having found the hotel, we then discovered that the car parking was in an underground car park, up another narrow alleyway, in an area which appeared very unsafe. The car park was under surveillance, but when we found that we would have to give our car keys to a group of untrustworthy-looking individuals, we decided to find alternative parking. We ended up using a public car park, as the lesser of two risky options. When we arrived to check in, the receptionist spoke no English and did not greet us in a friendly and helpful manner. The room was very noisy all night: we were disturbed both by noise from the street outside and by noise from other occupants of the hotel. We did not stay for breakfast: we left as quickly as we could the following morning and will not be returning!

A warm welcom to a clean and well run hotel with helpfull staff and the Quiet little bar next door is fantastic. Dont expect a modern hotel with views though, this is an old building but its got lots of character. I asked to be moved to a room with a view and was transfered to a room with a view of the buildings opposite, but thats all you are going to get from an ancient italian building of this nature. Location is perfect, just across from the harbour and 3 or 4 minutes walk from the centre. When i return to Genova i`ll be staying at this hotel again.

Great location - close to the hub of the old port. Very good restaurant adjacent and justifiably famous fried fish shop at end of street. Visitors must understand that the old port layout is medieval - very narrow streets, plenty of local colour. Real port - real Italy.

Hotel was clear, you can smell the chloride ;-( Welcoming was very friendly and competent. Good location near the Aquarium and small shops and bars. There is no private parking place as indicated on the homepage, just a parkingplace a few blocks away (0,5EUR /h) or a few parkingplaces on the street but with no chance to get one because it is public parkingarea. Hotel OK, nothing special.

although the hotel was clean and well furnished and the staff really nice, the breakfast was absolutely disgraceful - very poor quality pre-packaged "croissants" 1 each! and equally poor coffee. Nothing else was offered, not even toast which made this an xpensive hotel. Genoa itself was equally awful.
