The Tre Stazioni hotel is named after its central position, in close proximity to the Principe railway station of Genoa, in front of the harbour with ferry terminals, and next to the Principe subway station.

The property is also easy to reach by car, thanks its vicinity to the sopraelevata exit, the road that connects the Genova Ovest toll-booth with the International Trade Fair.

With a short walk, guests will reach the ancient port where the Acquario di Genova is located, Europe's largest aquarium.

The property is a family-run hotel, situated on the second floor of an ancient building. Open all year, it also offers a bar.

Whilst not as easy to find on leaving the Genoa Principe Railway Station as suggested, this hotel proved to be well located to transport, port and the old city. The rooms were well maintained and quite spacious with modern facilities yet still enjoyed aspects of the buildings past - cool marble floors and generous windows with shutters. Despite its location between major roads and railway line, the noise was not too bad with the windows closed and certainly, we were able to sleep with the windows open at night. The breakfast was a bit disappointing and I didn't notice a bar, but there was an excellent coffee machine and the staff were happy to oblige in this regard. Our stay at Le Tre Stazioni was about 4 weeks into a 'Grand Tour of Europe' so we had already stayed at a variety of hotels. This one certainly didn't disappoint. I would happily stay here again.

We have liked to stay, personnel(young lady) not very welcoming at first but once the ice had melt with a lot of practical advice on the city, restauration etc. Room a little loud as between 4 lane road and the rails but then.. it is Italy. AND it is between the railway station and the port;the metro/subway station in the near by - very useful Breakfast is highly recommendable, especially the coffee which is made individually for each guest

We had a room fronting the main road so very noisy and light at night, but with shutters closed it was OK, as room had airconditioning - but I'd request a back room. Did have a view of the port, so that was the pay off. Rest couldn't fault. Excellent value for money - easy 10 min walk to train station & bus stop opposite hotel. Clean, big, modern shower. Breakfast was good. Need to be aware its slightly off the main area, so need to use transport to reach the city centre (only 10-15 mins walk). Area looks a bit drab.

The hotel is in a building where there are also standart flats, so it is not really independant place. The receptionist was absolutelly indifferent to my question where to park the car, she was not friendly and hospitable. the room was clean but u better don't open the window because it is very close to the ground, the view was something like backyard.A railway runs nearby. There was only 1 plug in a 4 bed room ( and they have switched there a night lamp). the hotel is very near to the old port and the aquarium - it's about 15 min away by foot. But the zone u walk through seemed not very save to me. For the same money I have stayed in much better places.

Fully correspondent quality with the price. Only the rooms would need repainting and it will be OK. Cleanlines of other things good. From 3 people at the reception only one spoked english at "good communication" level. However, the staff was helpful.

The hotel was hard to find from the station, but worth the effort. Staff were very helpful and cheerful. The breakfast area was a bit cramped, but the breakfast was good. The train line passed by our room window, but was not seriously disturbing. We were able to get an excellent meal at 10.00pm at the local pizzeria and trattoria, and there was a nice bar close by as well as a small grocery store. The old port and town are in comfortable walking distance -- as is the station in daylight and once you know the way. Genoa is a lovely city and Tre Stazione is a very pleasant and good value hotel to stay in.

This small hotel is OK for a short stay in Genoa due to its proximity to the old city and the railway station. The room was reasonably clean, with basic necessities available. Continental breakfast was provided, including cappuccino, and was just fine. Some staff members spoke English, which was very helpful to us. Considering the proximity to the city, the value for the price is good.

Next to the ferries for Corsica, this hotel is very well located. We had the luck to find a parking place just in front of the hotel. Otherwise we would have had to find one around, which can be complicated. Elevator brought us only up to the 1st level and then we had to climb a stair to the next one.

Not much to say. I guess this is what you'll have to accept in Genova. The hotel states that it has a car park. The woman in the reception had problems with spoken english and gave us a general map of the nearby area. After some searching we found a garage that probably was connected to the hotel somehow. Can't really tell. The garage was great though.

There was - except for the owner- nobody who spoke english. Finding the Parking was a crime. The room was flodded, there was a lot of water on the floor when we wake up and the lady at the desk said we have to wait for the owner. But we had to go for the Ferryboat, so we coudn't wait. After several discussions, we had to pay the full price. A Hotel to Forget!!! Never gone book again.

The hotel is literally a couple of meters from the main set of train tracks--not train station (that is a good 20 min walk) but actual train tracks. if you like the smell of diesel and trains roaring right by your window then this is the place for you. otherwise, dont stay here. good breakfast though.

When we arrived the owner was most apologetic that only one of our rooms was ready. The building is undergoing renovations at the present time so there are all kinds of building materials etc in the hallways. It is not as close to the station as is advertised. We actually ended up having to get a taxi as we couldn't find it on foot. Breakfast was only half ready when we came down for an early check out so we had to pass on it. This didn't really worry us as it looked pretty awful. The rooms are big and clean with great air con and beautiful new bathrooms. The service is not quite so good as we got locked in and had to wake the manager to let us out in the morning. Not a place I'd go back to but since the price was low I can't really complain.

This hotel is really the best choice for this price. clean, friendly, close to the station but not next to it, so you dont hear the trains. the stuff is also friendly and ready to help. we had a four-bed room for 2 nights, and the beds are comfortable, the room is clean and the bathroom is also fine. i would highly recommend it, it worth its price

For the price the hotel was fine. The room was quite large in comparison to other hotels in which we stayed in Italy and the bathroom was recently renovated and very spacious. Breakfast was served in a separate dining room on the ground floor and was a little better than the standard coffee and rolls (cereal and juices were also available). The staff spoke no english but were very helpful with our basic Italian and assisted with leaving our bags there on the day we checked out. The only problem was that when we checked in the room we were allocated had not been made up. The manager was very apologetic and quickly moved us to another room - which was at the back of the hotel and probably quieter than the room we had originally been given. It seemed to be a genuine mistake and he was prolific in his apologies. The location was OK (a couple of hundred metres north of the Stazione Principe) though it seemeed to be at the beginning of the seedier area of town (near the Mission to Seafarers) but this was not a real concern. Overall we would stay here again for the price.

The hotel was very basic, I struggled to find where it was after i lost my map, but when i got there the staff were very friendly. The location means constant traffic noise. This is common in Genoa however. The rooms were pleasant and clean. It is very close to the principe station which is good, Finally when i tried to check out their credit card facilities had stopped working forcing me to pay with cash, which was a big problem for me.

This was comfortably the cheapest room in Genoa. It was very clean and the room provided a spacious double - excellent value for the price. A clean comfortable room, but too noisy to relax. I thought I had seen a picture of the main entrance on the web site but on arrival it was nothing like the photo and I felt mislead. There were no public rooms or breakfast which was not clear on the web site. At time of booking we explained we needed to check in early and check out late. The room was not ready when we arrived and we had to pay an additional nights stay for the late check out. Given all of my comments I feel we are due a rebate for the additional night. If I spoke Italian I would have been able to make myself clear to reception.

The name tre stazione acts as a warning to light sleepers, true to it's name the hotel is slap bang in the middle of three stations - excellent travel facilities i can assure you but everso noisy, unless you, like me, can get used to it! On top of this while we were staying in the hotel, the room next door to mine was having its bathroom re-fitted. I think they've re-furbished all the bathrooms recently because they're all very nice. Unfortunately I was woken up at 7a.m on our first morning by the sound of builders chipping off tiles. But thankfully as soon as the manager saw me that morning he offered me a different room and was really sorry I'd been put in a noisy one! However, I was a bit disturbed as i lay in bed one night because a gentleman from the room opposite me actually opened MY door with HIS key! Although, in reterospect, i think this may have been because he was friends with the manager and he had been given the master key but had been told the wrong room, my italian is dreadful so i couldn't quite work it out! Other than that one incident which was dealt with very kindly, jovially, and with much apologising the hotel was very nice. It suited our needs perfectly as it was very affordable and within a few minutes walk of the porto antico, which is a fascinating and beautiful place. However i suggest unless you want or have to, that you don't take the route to the port which runs parallel to the harbour as you are likely to, especially at night, run into people who generally want to sell services and products that you can't exactly buy in the shops!

Tre Stazioni was a difficult hotel to find at first, although once I worked it out the location was extremely convneient for the main train station in Genoa! The price quoted on the website of forty Euros for a "single" booking was actually incorrect - that price referred to two people staying in a room. However, despite this anomaly, the staff there were kind enough to charge me only half that when I arrived. The fact that none of the staff spoke any English and I could speak only phrase book Italian at best made communication virtually impossible! There were a few shared laughs between myself and the staff at this bizarre situation, nevertheless. I would recommend Tre Stazioni as a no-frills but comfortable place to stay whenever you happen to stop by Genoa.
