I recommened this hotel everyone. We stayed here for two nights when we were in Genova. Our room had an air-condition which was quite good because the temperature was 40° outside. The staff was very kind and helpful. One morning when we went on a trip at early morning (about 06.30 a.m.) the recepcionist made us a café, instead of the breakfast started at 8 o 'clock. It was very kind from him. I liked that the staff always smiled:))))) And a hotel has a left luggage room, too. It is about 15 minutes to Genova Brignole railway station on foot.

Nice stay. 1 night. Very noisy, on top of a main street and no double glazing windows. Found the room quite cold (emotionally). Nice welcoming. Parking just a bit out of hand, but secure, not expensive though not included in price of the room and that's a petty. Discreete Italian style place in the end. 15min walk from the centre.

A very good price-quality relation. Genova is really "La Superba". The hotel is near to the centre, room, service and price for this constellation is absolute OK. We think, we will return.

Once i arrived it was perfectly fine however it was quite a way from the train station and the sea . really good cheap coffee and while the english spoken wasnt the best the people at the reception were very nice and helpful a good cheap cafe opposite the only reason i wouldnt return is because it was a bit far away from the train station for me

Good place if you want to get close to Genoa old town and the famous Acquario <3 ( Only a 15 minutes walk ) but a bit expensive compared to other hotels. Choose it if you do not have a car and want to visit old Genoa

It was good for 1 night, rooms were clean, stuff was friendly, helpful and spoke some english, breakfast was a bit poor, but included in the price. The location is safe and close to the city centre, and you can park your car easily. But I would say that don't come to Genova by car unless you know the city very well. A good map isn't enough, believe me. I would definitely stay here again, but not for a one week vacation, only 1-2 nights.

The hotel needs an immediate renovation. It was not a dirty hotel, the rooms spacious, but it did not have a lift and all the areas had a curious odour. It is easy to find the hotel, as it is found in a busy road not to far from the city centre. There was a small parking place for one or three cars and we were lucky that they had kept a place there, which was not included in the price. The breakfast was just good. Very friendly atmospere! Small and simple hotel in good reach of the historic center of Genoa. Propper service and ideal for a city holiday. Genoa itself is a buzy city but has also a fantastic historic touch. If you understand the bus time table you can cheaply go wherever you want by bus. And the drivers are crazy because they do a lot of transportation. Moreover we found only friendly and helpful people. It was great.

We have now stayed here twice. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Hotel Assarotti is within walking distance of historic center and port, a definite plus. Breakfast is simple but quite adequate and the coffee was very good. The folks at the front desk are polite, competent and speak english although they were quite willing to suffer through my italian. Parking is off site but very close. All and all a good deal for the price.

Zimmer sauber.

Colazione decisamente abbondante.

Wery friendly personel.Clean large room for three people. The hotel has central location relatively close to the old town and one of the two train stations. We left our car at the near by public underground parking overnight and paid only 7 euro. Apparently the hotel has recently lost one star, being therefore very close to a 3* hotel. Very comfortable beds and good airconditioning that can be regulated indipendently for the room. The rooms have windows looking at the narrow space between two buildings and no sunshine. All in all, a very nice, comfortable and clean hotel to spend the night but not dwell in the room during the day.

Interior room and bathroom were very small and opened onto a well that contained a fuel oil tank, giving rise to unpeasant smell when the window was open. To set against this, the staff were both friendly and vey helpful. However, I doulby whether I would use this hotel when visiting Genova again.

We had a very good stay at this hotel. The staff (owners?) were so friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. I have stayed at 40 odd places across Europe in the past 3 years and this was the friendliest hotel of all. The location is also great, very handy for all of the main attractions of the city. The only disadvantage of the hotel is that ear plugs are definitely required. You can hear every noise made in the adjoining rooms, and especially from the floors above. After about 1am the noise levels fall, but before that it was impossible to sleep without ear plugs.

Although this was a nice family run hotel, who were very accomodating and informational. However the only small drawback was that there was nowhere local to go for an evening meal without a 15 minute walk involved. Breakfast was a bit basic, without a lot to chose from. Would certainly look at trying a different hotel next time we visit possible with a resturant for evening meals within or very near by. Overall my trip to genoa was a hugh success and will certainly consider visiting it again.

Only criticisms would be the tiny and cramped bathroom area and the fact that our window was to a shabby courtyard and couldn't be opened due to scaffolding so the room was always quite dark. But the staff were really helpful and pleasant, giving us advice on bus routes etc.
