This was a fantastic hotel to stay at! The location was brilliant and Carlo the hotel owner was possibly the nicest man in the world. We stayed as a group including one Australian, a German and two Spanish girls. The hotel was able to communicate fluently with us in all languages which was excellent. The rooms are spacious and spotless. This is a one star hotel not a palace and people should be reminded of this when reviewing the hotel. Breakfast was lovely as well.

excellent location, but room and service quite "spartiate",in particular the breakfast is a joke, too bad if you don't like peach juice !!

Carlos was a gracious and helpful host. The little tray with continental breakfast left in my room each evening was a delight! The internet service was excellent and when my electric convertor stopped working, Carlos lent me one, which was wonderful!

The hotel is a converted apartment at the sixth floor of an appartment building. The location is quite central and it is not too noisy. The breakfeast is subpar.

Its right near the Piazza De Ferrari if that helps anyone. The staff was super helpful with any question we had about the city. He eased the anxiety of coming to a big city after coming from the riviera. Yes its on the 6th floor but that should give you piece of mind and security. I would reccomend this property to anyone who is using genova as a stopover.

Hotel Caffaro is nicely situated near the very centre of Genoa. Most of the major sights of the town are within walking distance. The manager (at least that's what I think he was) is a very friendly and forthcoming person. Genoa is a very traffic-ridden city, but the Caffaro, on the 6th floor of what seemed to me an office-building in a fairly quiet street, turned out to be a very quiet place. And since I needed only a place to sleep, the Caffaro was excellent.

When I checked in, the lady didn't speak english. I told her that I didn't speak italian, so she spoke spanish. I do not understand spanish either. In the morning, we needed a taxi to the airport, and the hotel wouldn't help, they told us to go look for one outside. This was at 5am!

The room was near the reception. No privacy - only a slim wood door to separe them, it was like live in reception....

This albergo is very basic and with a great location. It is overpriced, as all accommodation in Italy, but it is a good budget alternative in Genova. The owner is very kind and helpful.

It's a bit a special hotel, more an hostel in the owner "home" and it takes some time to understand where you are. After this point and having found parking and reach the 6th floor you are in a pleasant place

We have slept in many hard Italian beds, but this one takes the prices - it was so hard that you felt the springs in your backbones. We had trouble sleeping, not only due to the beds but also to the noise from outside.

This quaint albergo was a nice change from the hotels in the bustling core (by the train station) Although finding the place may be a little tricky (windy streets, lack of proper street signs), once you've figured it out, it's only a 10 minute walk from the train station and is steps away from the famous Garibaldi street. The proprietor was most kind, courteous and pleasant to deal with. Note: if you decide to take the taxi from the train station, be very cautious. It should only be about a 6 euro ride.

The owner was extremely helpful and informative and spoke excellent English. It was difficult to find the hotel at first as we arrived in the dark. There are road signs showing the direction of the hotel but no sign on the building as it is on one floor of a larger apartment block. The room was basic but clean and tidy and an excellent location for exploring Genova. I would recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget who wants clean, central accommodation.

Accueil très sympathique, chambre extrêmement calme, l'albergo Caffaro peut être recommandée aussi pour sa situation topographique au bord du quartier historique de Gênes.
