Overall, a nice place. While hotels in Geneva are all the pricy end, I felt like I got something for what I paid here. Rooms were clean (if small) and staff was helpful. The location was quite but still close to public transport and things to do. Included breakfast was a nice touch.

It was overall a good stay, the hotel was in a relatively quiet location. The front desk staff, the evening staff, the cleaning staff were great but the room was quite hot and stuffy in summer in spite of the fan provided.

This was the 9th hotel I stayed in in a 3 week period. It was by far the worst. Breakfast had stale food; Students who turned up in their pajamas; I didn't need to see the stomach of an overweight student at breakfast; The Bathroom was not a proper bathroom - was more like a portaloo - with a warning about steam from the shower setting off the smoke detector in the room!! Very small public area - particularly in the cafe/breakfast room.

Nice hotel with accommodating staff. Good breakfast is a plus, but room is small and thin walls, which was not a problem for Geneve since everyone is here for sightseeing. Convenient location and welcoming staff whihc is more than enough you can ask for. I would definetely go back.

Charming and funky are not words normally associated with Geneva, but they could well apply to this hotel. Nice decoration, very clean rooms, good breakfast, helpful staff, and extra touches like a free pass for public transport. The biggest drawback was noisy rooms - the walls between rooms and between rooms and the corridor seem paper thin. I guess this is a problem with old buildings. The bathrooms (actually showerrooms) were a bit small and wouldn't be to everyone's taste, though they were more than adequate. The cost is high, but I guess that applies always in Geneva.

Very convenient location. Friendly staff. However, room quite small (although adequate). Some outside noise from buses and trains. Overall, I would be happy to return to Hotel de Geneve if I were to be back in Geneva.

I was accommodated in the hotel Geneve more years ago (5? or 6?) when it was originally Rio and it was in reconstruction. I am returning to the hotel (with my wife) each year in September, and we were satisfied with the hotel atmosphere, service and tradition. We suppose to use the hotel next year.

Chambre avec vis à vis et mal décorée. Salle de douche en préfabriqué, parquet tres bruyant. Salle du petit déjeuner très petite, du coup, nous avons du attendre 30min avant d'avoir une place assise. Cependant, chambre + commun propre. Accueil sympathique. Chambre au calme coté cour. Hotel correct.

Wonderful front desk staff. The only real drawbacks were noisiness of the room and the relatively tiny size. We also stayed at the Hotel Capitole and although we liked many aspects of the Hotel de Geneve, we would probably return to the Capitole given the choice.

This hotel was very comfortable and offered a free breakfast. They also offered internet at 3 francs for 30 min. which was very convenient. The location was close to the train station, the buses and many wonderful restaurants. We had a great time at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone traveling in the Geneva area.

The hotel was cozy with a very good location, nearby the Rhone, the old town and also shopping and restaurants. It was only 0,5 km to the railwaystation and between the tram lines.

The hotel appears recently refurbished and was very clean. There was a warm welcome at reception and a good breakfast on departure the next morning. The hotel is ideally placed to wander the old city and very close to the station. We like to have the window open at night and that made the room a little noisy, but if left closed, the room would have been nice and quiet. Excellent value for money.

This 2 star hotel is the best hotel I have ever been in Genève, much much better than many pretending and arrogant 4 stars hotels around. Well furnished, everything has a good smell of wood. Private bathrooms small but functional. Delicious breakfast in an old-fashioned, charming room. Free tea and coffee in the lobby at any hour.

I stayed for one night. In total, the hotel was ok, the staff very friendly. The room I had was nicely decorated, however, the bathroom, more like a plastic bathroom in a "formule-1" hotel, was too small for the total price paid. Room doors do not keep off the noise from the corridors or neighbouring rooms. The breakfast was ok.

The staff was very friendly, my room was quite spacious and the croissants were the best I've had in a while. The only downside was that the bed linens were not very comfortable. When I returned in two weeks without a reservation and they were booked, they called around and found me a room at a similar quality hotel. Great service!

Siamo restati soddisfatti.

The hotel is situated near the rail station and it is very easy to acceed to the centre of Geneva by bus. The relationship price/quality is very good, people met in the hotel are serious people who like me wanted a clean and nice hotel for a reasonable price. The employees of the hotel are very nice and helpful. I recommand this hotel.

Our room was small but clean and with all basic necessities: toilet, shower, television. There is no separate breakfast room in the hotel - the continental breakfast is served in the entrance lobby of the hotel. Near the reception desk it is possible to use internet connection. The location of the hotel is central on the right bank of the river Rhone.

The hotel staff accommodated our request for a quieter room as our first room was located on a very busy, noisy street. They let us leave our bags at the hotel early in the day of our first arrival, well before check-in time, which we greatly appreciated. We liked the close proximity to the railway station and recommend the hotel to anyone wanting that as well. The rooms and bathrooms were small by American standards but adequate for sleeping. We considered this a value hotel in Geneva, a very expensive city.

Acceptable, good for the price. Since the weather was really hot, the foam mattress did not help though. So if you book for summer holiday, be prepared. Otherwise it's reasonable.

The location of the hotel is very good : only a few minutes walk from the central station and a very short walk to a bridge over the river and from there into the `old town`. The hotel is a small, modest hotel that of course, at this star rating is not luxurious but it was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The reception closes after 11:00 pm but you are given a code to gain entry late at night. One point I should make : access to the rooms is via a lift and although there are stairs, they do not appear to be for general use as they come down behind the reception desk. I don`t know how somebody who cannot use lifts would manage. Maybe they would allow a guest to use the stairs in this instance ? Yes, I would stay here again.

Disappointing: the bed was very uncomfortable; the room smelt of cigarette smoke; and the desk staff, though aimiable, were young and not very well-trained or professional. Conveniant location for onward train travel - and a good breakfast were plus factors; but overall it was not great value for money because of the niggles. We wouldn't stay here again.

It would be helpful if there were more pictures of the hotel. The map on your website is very unclear. The street that your directions say to take is not even written. The staff was very helpful and directed us to a nearby laundromat. However, the hair dryer in our room did not work properly and would only blow out cold air.

I recieved an email prior to departure informing me of a flood at the Hotel De Geneve. An alternative reservation was made buy the hotel manager with the Hotel Rhodania, so therefore the ratings above are based on this hotel and not the Hotel De Geneve. I would like to add that getting an email prior to departure was very welcoming and I am grateful to the manager at the Hotel De Geneve for that, as the last thing you want is to arrive at a hotel only to be told youve been transfered to somewhere else!

Good location...very close to train station and promanade. Very friendly front desk. Breakfast was okay.....basic....coffee/tea, bread, cereal. Rooms were small but clean and fine. Good location to be in...would stay there again. A bit more expensive than other hotels of the same quality in other cities but that may be the going rate in this city. Overall, fine.

We were very happy with our choice of De Geneve. It was very close to the station, under 5 minutes walk. It was a comfortable walk to other parts of the city. The hotel was very chic, the staff were very obliging. Breakfast was included and it was a very generous continental meal. We would definitely stay there again.

Hotel was rated appropriately as a 2 star. I think had we looked around longer we could have found something that was worth the $150 CHF we paid. Service was okay, however the later evening desk attendant was very nice and helpful. Staff spoke and understood enough English for us to communicate well. I was misled by the "internet available" statement thinking it was included in the price, but beware, that is extra, I believe it was $10 or $15 CHF extra. Cannot comment on breakfast, because we had to leave to catch a train just before 7am and although we had made arrangements the night before, we were not offered anything earlier. Room was okay, small balcony that was fun to sit out on, which was good, because it was warm and there was no air conditioning. On a noisy, busy street in downtown near the old part of the city, so the location was good. We were not there much so it served our purposes well enough, except for internet access. Okay if nothing better available.
