We really liked this hotel. The room was very comfortable and had everything we could need, including tea & coffee making facilities, a reasonably priced mini bar and complimentary shampoo/sewing kit etc. in the bathroom. The breakfast was exceptional with a choice of cold meats and cheeses, cereals, different breads and preserves, as well as scrambled eggs and bacon. There is a large sex shop next door and several more in the area - and there seemed to be quite a few young ladies 'working' in the area, but don't let that put you off - it was fairly quiet and we didn't feel threatened or uncomfortable at any time, even very late at night. Next door on the other side is a small supermarket, which was useful for buying bottles of water/biscuits etc. There are plenty of decent restaurants within walking distance - I'd like to particularly recommend Little India, 20, rue du Prieure, where I ate the bset lamb madras I've ever had anywhere.

I didn`t know that the hotel is very close to a SEX AREA in the city and nobody saids nothing included VENERE information. Also rooms size are very close and we haven`t a hotel personel to help us with the movement of our luggages.

We really enjoyed our three nights in Geneva, and the hotel was ideal for us. It was near the station, very clean and tidy, and had a great breakfast! double glazing worked well to shut out the sounds of Geneva if you needed to, but the walls between rooms are not so sound proof - not that it bothered us.

This charming little hotel is within walking distance of the rail station, the lake and the Jet D'Eau, and the Old Town trolley. It was exactly what we needed!

A cosy hotel with an excellent service/quality vs. price ratio. If one can bear with staying right next door to some red light facilities, the hotel offers central location, proximity to train and public transport, and last not least an excellent breakfast buffet. The single rooms aren't really big, but adequate compared to the good price.

The hotel is very well located but in the sourruondings there are very bad activities.

We knew it would be a rough night when we arrived to a reggae music festival taking place on the street outside the Admiral. When we asked for a quiet room away from the street, the young man at the desk just shrugged and said it was not possible. There was absolutely no attempt to make us more comfortable or offer any decent customer service at all. We arrived relatively late and tired, so there was no choice but to deal with the circumstances. Things finally quieted down around midnight, and the room itself was clean and comfortable. We picked this hotel primarily based on location since it is close to the train station and rental car businesses. However, the Paquis neighborhood in which the Admiral is located leaves much to be desired. As an example, there is a sex-shop 2 doors down and we didn't feel particularly safe on the street after dark. While the Admiral is conveniently located, in the future I would take a cab across the river and perhaps stay in a better part of town. On the plus side, the breakfast was very good, with offerings of fresh fruit, yogurt, a variety of baked goods, both hot and cold cereals, smoked salmon, tea, and coffee (rather than the standard croissant and coffee that is often offered at hotels). There are far better hotels in Geneva at a similar price.

Some people complain that this is in the "red light" district. Well, I live in New York City, and have travelled around the world extensively - this barely qualifies as a Red Light District. If you have small children, then you may want to avoid this hotel. But otherwise, don't worry about it. I never felt in danger. It was actually kind of quaiint.

The only complaint for us were the location (at red light district) and non-aircon room which is a problem in the summer.

A very comfortable and welcoming hotel - great location for the city centre and the railway station. The surrounding streets to the east are "interesting" but not dangerous. A good place to stay whilst in Geneva - away from the bustle of the lake.

We were transferred to Hotel Capitol, another hotel owned by the company, 5 minutes from the train station. A nice quiet room, and the hotel offers an outstanding breakfast buffet in the attached restaurant.

It was quite expensive for a basic room but that seems to be the standard in Geneva.

We enjoyed our stay. The location with regard to the train station and buses was excellent. It was a short walk to the lake. It was clean and safe and the breakfast was good. We would recommend it and stay there again.

Consigliato!!!

Excellent value for the price. I had a problem with the safe but that was fixed very quickly. My only real problem was occasional disturbance from neighbouring rooms in the night.

Very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We left our luggages in the hotel for 3 days without any extra cost. Very close to the railway station and easy to get around. Price is reasonable in Geneva but I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

This hotel has most of what American travelers are looking for. Decent price, nice bed (queen-sized though a bit firm), easy to get to (just a short walk from the Cornavin Train Station), easy to get around from (just blocks from the lake), internet access (including Wi-Fi in the room), better-than-average European-style breakfast (sorry, still no waffles/pancakes, scrambled eggs, or bacon). Owner/operator is very friendly and speaks excellent English. Hotel will arrange transfer to/from airport at reasonable cost (15 Euros for the car). Multi-level parking garage/gas station/car wash on corner (including mini-mart with decent prices). Can leave bags at hotel on departure day if leaving later. Neighborhood has a certain "moral flexibility" to it, but never felt unsafe. Would stay there again.

We were a bit shocked to see this hotel right beside a sex shop, but this didn't detract from the hotel itself as buildings on the other side were quite respectable. It was close enough to the train station but other hotels were closer. It definitely was value for money (everything in Switzerland was expensive) and the breakfast was good. Fan over the bed helped as it was really hot weather. Also a bonus was a separate toilet to the bathroom but wasn't vented. Lift extremely small, one person and bag filled it. Hotel is reasonably new. We would stay there again.

The environment around the hotel is "interesting" since it's next door to a sex shop. However, on the other side is a nice convenience store. The rooms at the Admiral are very nice. The bed is big with fluffy pillows and upscale bedding. The bathroom was relatively large with nice fixtures. The furniture was modern and nice-looking. Note that the hotel is not air conditioned. I thought the room was very comfortable, and I liked the hotel very much.

This is a really nice luxurious hotel, and very well located near the Geneva central train station. I enjoyed my stay very much and found all services of great quality including the very varied buffet type breakfeast. Also congratulations to the Asian receptionist who was quite sweet.

1. No hot water to drink in the room, BUT the reception is able to help to get a pot of hot water at the restaurant at the ground floor. 2. No sign to indicate the hotel when I get off from the railway. Infact, I hold a very detail map with even the small street name in the area, but I spend over 20mins to find the hotel which it should only need 3 mins from the railway station. It is because the map provided in the webpage do not indicate the distant, i.e. a scale like 100 meter on the map. I walk straight a few street on the main street and still cannot see the small lane mentioned in the hotel map. I walk back to railway station and try turn "RIGHT" immediately after I leave the station and that's it. Suggest to add some BIG road side near the railway station area or refine the map in the website. 2. There should be some night bar near the hotel on the other side not from the hotel. When I walk to the hotel at about 2pm on that day, there are some "old" ladies wear sexy and seem wait for customer. That's make us feel that the area is not save. However, if you go from another side of the street to the hotel, that's much better. 3. The life in the hotel is really small but it is fair to it in such a small hotel with only 5 rooms in each floor. 4. The price quote in the webpage in based on EUR but actually we can pay by CHF. Better to indicate in the webpage so that customer can have better arrangement, e.g. which is better in terms of exchange rate. 5. GOOD THINGS: The restaurant is really nice and I sure you love the breakfast as well.

Excellent hotel with a great location. Good breakfast. The rooms are no-smoking yet the employees at the desk smoke at the desk making the lobby stink of cigarette smoke. We would stay there again.

Nice hotel. Would go again. Close to Redlight District, but the RLD is more amusing than anything else. Would recommend this as #1 hotel to stay at near the lake (only a minute or twos walk from the boats and various tourist traps)

The hotel was very clean and the breakfasts are great. The location (on a road with several sex shops) may not appeal to families. The biggest problem was the room. Ours was small even by Geneva standards and was very stuffy as there is no airconditioning and the fan didn't wotk. Even worse was the noise, the walls must be very thin as you could hear everything from the neighbours' rooms. Overall I think that there are other hotels in Geneva offering better value for around the same price

The hotel was fine, nothing exceptional. The room was very small, but had a comfortable bed. I appreciated the PC in the lobby with free internet access. It was about a 10 minute walking distance to the main shopping and cafe area. It is literally right in the redlight district though, but you would never know it inside the hotel and I still felt very safe as a single female traveller.

I think all European hotels are overpriced for what you get, but I find no fault with the cleanliness or services of this hotel. If they tell you "free internet" it is only the day you are there. As we were checking out the manager said we could not check our mail because we were not staying there that night. But since we had not gotten in until 11pm it seemed a little ridiculous!! The bathroom was big enough and the shower had lots of hot water. The beds were comfortable for the one night we stayed. All in all it was a good place close to the train station so we could take off again the next morning.

The hotel was centrally located and offers wireless internet access as well as has a computer in the lobby where you can access the internet. If you don't mind being in Geneva's "red light" district, it is a great place to stay and many of the food shops/internet cafes open late are in this area.
