Some rooms look to the street. They are smaller and a bit noisy. Location is an optimum. Perfect bavarian style dining room. Excellent food in the restaurant. Great effeciency quality/price.

We were exhausted when we got to the hotel from a long day of travel and from nad directions on the hotel website. The hotel seemed a little worn out and in desparate need of updating. The receptionist initially put us in a room that required a lift ride and a walk up but moved us to a floor needing only a lift ride. This room was big, but run down. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Hotel, which were fine but unremarkable.

Overall we had an excellent stay. The location is great, just off the main road into Garmisch, easy access into and out of town. Located in the middle of the main city. Rooms were clean, secure, and very nice. We could hear the church bells ringing next door, but it wasn't a problem. Highly recommend this hotel. Free public parking lot about 100 meters away. We dropped our bags then parked there, no problem. Great breakfast also!

We were on holiday and spent 5 days at this hotel. The hotel and staff were great. Although there is a lift, it is small and only goes to 2nd floor - we were on the 3rd floor. Also, our room faced west, so it got a bit warm in the afternoons - needed some ventilation. The little refridge didn;t work all that great, but ice was available in the restaurant. Could be more internet friendly. It was nice that breakfast was included. Friendly and helpful staff, esp. Elizabeth and Dagmar. We will never forget our wonderful stay.

The photoes are showing a very big room while in fact it is a good one. I liked the free wireless internet access. The location is perfect in the middle of the city center. However, you have to use the stairs because their left is very old small and slow.

From the moment of our arrival we were made to feel right at home. The friendly and helpful staff, on the desk and in the dining room catered to our every need, while the maid service paid great attention to comfort and cleanliness. The quietness in our room was interrupted by church bells (long and loud) which may provoke some people, but we at least felt safe with God next door! After our hotel in Athens the Atlas Posthotel was HEAVEN. We would recommend it highly.

Very nice with two complaints. There are only 4 or 5 parking spots available at the hotel. They say parking is included, but good luck trying to get these spots. We parked in a free city lot 2 blocks away. Price... they add the city hotel tax on top of whatever price they quote you. So they do not tell you the full price online. Otherwise, this hotel was beautiful with a very good breakfast.

The Hotel was a good deal for the price. I had a single room that was fine for one person but I would not call it roomy but it was comfortable. The hotel has an interesting history which means it's older than the U.S. so you have stairs(OMG! You're in Europe)But it's charming and staff was helpful. The location is ideal if you want to shop or hit one of the two clubs in the town. The breakfast was pretty decent. Overall it was a really nice hotel to stay in and this was my second time.

Parking was included in the price, but there were only 5 parking spaces. This would be good to know in case you couldn't get a parking space. The location of the hotel is second to none in visiting Garmisch, as was our room.

Unfortunately the fotos in website were too good. The hotel is really old and not equiped. If I could I changed hotel at once but everything in Garmish was full!!! The building is old and spooky , the floor carpet old and everything inside reminds a museum!!!! Be carefull!!!!

The driving directions published on the web site are totally incorrect. When we called the hotel for clarification they were not helpful, this created unnecessary frustration. Upon arrival while checking in a walk in requested information on room rates. The rate he was quoted was considerably less than the rate we had been quoted. When we asked about this they said the rates were cheaper on the weekend than on weekdays.Perhaps that is true;but we were put off by this answer and had the feeling that because we were Americans the rates were different. Parking is another shortcoming on this property. The elevator does not go to the third floor, yet we were initially given rooms on the third, which would mean carrying bags up one flight of stairs. This is not impossible yet many rooms were available on the second floor. Rooms were changed. Heat was initially not on. Bathroom had no shower enclosure making use of hand held hose a challenge. There are many properies in Garmisch. In the future I would not return to Atlas Post Hotel. We paid top dollar and did not recieve top quality or service. In a country which prides itself on cleanliness the window sheers were dirty.

My only negative comment might me a plus for some. When it rained one night, we could hear it running through the metal raingutters and hitting the metal roof. Many enjoy that type of sound. Also, the church bells sound off. I'm certain many rooms wouldn't have that sound. The sounds within the hotel were minimal - altogether fairly quiet place to stay.

Our room was wonderful. We were in the top room with an exellent view of Alpspitz. The skylight in the bathroom gave a wonderful veiw of the Chapel spire next door. The only down side was the bells in the chapel rang every 15 minutes 24/7. Earplugs a must! I would definatly stay there again.

It is very reasonable for its central location and quality of rooms. Easy to get around, I would go back again, no doubt.

Wonderful hotel in main center of town, steps away from the"old town" attractions. Suberb breakfast offered. Attractive dining inside or outside, catching the sun and great for enjoying the culture. Booking procedure via web and Venere was seamless and everything confirmed immediately by email.
