Hotel Villa Ca' Nova - Garda

No air conditioning in the standard rooms that the Venere site tells. We were luckily to change room (paid extra for it) but the air conditioning in that room was beneath contempt! Really bad! Very pleasant and courteous staff.

The hotel is rather high up on the slope. With the limited directions from the town, you will need to open your eyes and look around while you drive. If you are backpacking and intended to walk to the hotel, think again. The wife of the owner welcomed us warmly with a welcome drink. The pool looks rather inviting but as oppose to the hotel description, you will not be able to see the lake from the terrace as it was blocked by a row of high trees. The room is spacious and our window faces the pool directly which can be rather noisy at times.. but we are able to see the lake from there. The toilet is very spacious but the door does not work properly. Also the toilet bowl was not cleaned properly one time. However the hotel does need a small refurbishment soon as many structures looked a little worn and tear. Oh, and the air conditioning does not work. So, I would not recommend the hotel during the Summer season. The free parking is great. Breakfast variety is limited and unimpressive. For €89 per room per night with no airconditioning, I will expect to have a fairly decent breakfast.

The hotel is clean and ok, but not more. The beds are ok, the pool is clean and as most guests are German, they have a tendancy to "book" the sunbeds with towels early in the morning. The garden and pool area are quite small, so it's hard to get a bit of a private space. But if you just want an ok hotel a bit out of town, then it's ok. The biggest takeaway with the hotel is the beatuful view of lake Garda from the breakfast terrace. Most of the staff does not speak English, just German (and they speak it no matter if you understand it or not).

Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Great location Garda was not too expensive and could easily access other places.

Unexpected gem,really well run small hotel.Using the the roof terrace for breakfast is a great feature starting off the day on a lovely feel good basis.
