The Western Hotel - Galway

Great older B&B Hotel on the ridge in Galway Short walk to the pedestrian mall/shops/pubs/restaurants Good breakfast in the morning Secure parking underground - get there early to get a good spot! Excellent staff. Recommend to anyone staying in Galway

Excellent location close to everything you would want to walk to in downtown Galway (ie. 2 blocks to the New Coach Station where tours leave from, 2 blocks from Eyre Square, 4 blocks from the bus and train station etc.). WiFi right in the room. We stayed four nights and the price varied according to the night. Was on the expensive side for other places we stayed on our trip, but was very nice. We stayed in two different rooms since a third person joined us on the last night. The first room was across the street from a pub that broadcast their music outside. Some noise from there until about 11:00 each night. The second room was very quiet. Close to a grocery store (Marks and Spencer) to get fruit and snacks. Breakfast was excellent at the hotel with good variety and service.

Great Accomodation, the staff was very kind and the room (after the change from 106 to 304) was fantastic!

The hotel was nice and friendly and the room was very spacious although the wallpaper was peeling off in places. It was clean and tidy though. The hotel staff were very helpful. Breakfast was quite good with a lot of choice. Fabulous speciality breads but the preserves were awful, really tasteless jam and marmalade which let down the rest of the standard of food. The live music in the bar was pretty awful at times! Overall though we enjoyed our stay and would most likely return again.

Nice hotel just off Eyre Square (but far enough to be away from the pub crowds). Free WLAN in the bar and lobby on ground floor. Good spacious room, there was some disco music at nights but not loud enough to be annoying.
