We loved our time at Hotel Villa La Grotta so much we extended our stay two extra nights. Everyone was so kind, especially Rosario, who was always kind and friendly while performing an array of jobs. This place is perfect peace. We would live there if we could. I can't wait to take my family back with me. You want everyone you love to see it because it is that beautiful in the countryside of Chianti, and that peaceful at Hotel Villa La Grotta. Gigi and Doogie are great hosts, and Doogie went out of her way to talk with our hotel in Florence to square away our reservation change and to assure we would not be charged for our two cancelled days. Gigi is a master at giving excellent driving directions and making sure your breakfast is just right. Overall, a wonderful five nights in the Italy countryside.

Wir wurden herzlichst und sehr persönlich Willkommen geheissen und haben, bei herrlicher Ruhe und feinem Essen dort ein paar sehr schöne und erholsame Tage verbracht. Auch die Lage war für unsere Besichtigungstouren ideal! Wir fahren bestimmt noch mal hin!

We had an excellent stay at Villa La Grotta. Doogie and the entire staff were the friendliest we encountered in our 9 day stay in Italy. We would have liked to try their restaurant which was booked for a large group, but Doogie reserved dinner for us at the osteria del castello just up the road. It was our best meal of the trip. Highly recommended.

A great location with a great Resturant. Only thing letting Villa Grota down was a couple of broken sun shades round the pool area.

The Villa La Grotta was the most exceptional experience we've ever had. The manager and staff made us feel like family. The chef actually made a special lunch for us alone. It is in a quiet country setting, with vinyards in front of the property, and a castle right up the hill. Our room was spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable. The pool area was a beautiful place to relax and read. We highly recommend this hotel for both it's amenities and warmth of personel.

Hotel Villa La Grotta is the perfect place for those looking to enjoy a peaceful holiday in the heart of the chianti region. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and in an area all of its own it is easy to get to many of the beautiful towns and villages of Tuscany. the Villa has been beautifully restored and offers a high level of service and facility with none of the feel of a fussy hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner, manager and staff and you end up feeling like you are spending your holiday as guests in a friend's villa. the food is superb, the rooms spacious and the pools beautiful and well looked after. The location is second to none.

Our stay at The Villa La Grotta can only be called "a vacation within a vacation" -- after the hustle and bustle of Rome, Florence, Siena, and the train stations, it was paradise. Come to think of it, it would be paradise even without all that other activity: the location at the foot of Brolio Castle gives it prestige and charm; the views are unbelievable; the staff and management are truly professional and friendly...and the food was some of the best we had in Italy. My husband and I were on a belated honeymoon, so the romantic and quiet location was absolutely perfect. With only 12 rooms, it's easy to pretend that it's your own private retreat. The service was impeccable yet unobtrusive, attentive but not intrusive; the views from our window and from the hotel's many terraces are postcard-perfect; the rooms are spacious and elegantly comfortable without being fussy or "precious"; and the staff simply makes you feel welcome. It's more like visiting old friends who just happen to be in business than staying at a hotel. Truly an awesome stay in a gem of a property, and we can't wait to return.

Very nice accomodation in the middle of the Chianti hills, thus rather calm and isolated, but not that far from Siena. Staff and Management very friendly. To be recommended for persons willing to relax in a quiet location and/or wanting to make day trips in Chianti region.
