Very good location with walking distance to "down-town" and very good service. Beware of the underground parking - not for big cars! And next to the hotel (part of it) a very nice restaurant to get breakfast. If you are a very light sleeper you will notice the bass dunking from the disco in the basement :-)

Clean rooms and very friendly staff. Spoiled by the noise in the early hours of the morning from a nightclub in the basement not associated with the hotel.

The hotel is is a great position between the old town and all the new hotels. The staff were great and the room excelent (although a bit noisy when the bar downstairs kicked out). There are restaurants and bars and a supermarket very close. The bars and restaurants in the old town and by the harbour (which is 10 - 15 mind walk away) are better though. Overall highly recommended.

How to reach Hotel Imperatriz
By car
Take the free way heading Madeira’s capital city, Funchal. Take the exit that indicates Porto do Funchal and Hospital (exit is at your left). After you pass Repsol Gas station, you will find a roundabout. Take the second exit heading to Funchal’s harbour (Hospital will be at your right side).
At the end of this street you will find ahead you will find a Taxi stop. Go straight forward along that street and turn at the first road at your left (Rua Imperatriz D. Amélia). Drive straight for an estimated 200 metres/218 yards and you will find a sign stating Aparthotel Imperatriz on your left.
