Hotel Imperatriz - Funchal

Perfect location only 10mins walk from old town. Airport bus stops 200m away. Small supermarket very close to hotel. Simple but good breakfast served in Italien restaurant which we can also recommend for dinner. Underground parking very narrow, rent a small car.

Very good location with walking distance to "down-town" and very good service. Beware of the underground parking - not for big cars! And next to the hotel (part of it) a very nice restaurant to get breakfast. If you are a very light sleeper you will notice the bass dunking from the disco in the basement :-)

Clean rooms and very friendly staff. Spoiled by the noise in the early hours of the morning from a nightclub in the basement not associated with the hotel.

The hotel is is a great position between the old town and all the new hotels. The staff were great and the room excelent (although a bit noisy when the bar downstairs kicked out). There are restaurants and bars and a supermarket very close. The bars and restaurants in the old town and by the harbour (which is 10 - 15 mind walk away) are better though. Overall highly recommended.

Personnel sympathique et compétent. Chambre spacieuse avec vue sur mer. Bon rapport qualité prix. On y retournera certainement.

Charming small hotel in great location in old Funchal. Currently excellent sea view but 4 storey apt. being built across road will limit. Two desk clerks outstanding- speak several languages and very helpful; the other speaks only Port., so service more limited. Terrific value.
