Hotel Do Centro - Funchal

Good hotel if interested visiting Funchal town and near bus stops if interested about levada walks.

Great location near shops and city centre. Very friendly service. I felt very safe.

Excellent hotel well situated in the centre of old Funchal. Very good value for money since it includes a adequate continental style breakfast.

This hotel is small clean and perfectly located. price v quality is very good the only small minus would be the bre4akfast is a bit repetitive - but this is not important if what you want is a good clean small place to stay. we would certainly repeat

Hotel muy céntrico y tranquilo. Tiene un supermercado debajo. La relación calidad/precio buena. Es un hotel bastante limpio, habitaciones normales y precio sin abusar. El desayuno poco variado. El probelam fundamental es aparcar el coche alquilado, alrededor sólo hay zonas para aparcar residentes y zona de pago. Pero, te sales un poco del centro y no tienes que pagar.

On arrival at the Do Centro, we were redirected to a sister hotel, the Windsor, 50 metres away. We were given no explanation for the change, but this was in theory an upgrade from a 3 star to a 4 star hotel. Anyway this review is therefore of the WINDSOR hotel. It is central, reasonably quiet and fair value for money. But our room was tiny, gloomy, and the decorations were very tired. Breakfast was not great either. On the other hand, it was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, so for the price (50 euros a night for B&B for 2) I really can't complain. But it really doesn't merit 4 stars - 3 maybe, possibly 2.

The hotel was in the city and very close to the Harbour and restaurants and buses. very good value for money

Very nice and clean, confortable for one night in the very center of Funchal, good price/quality.

Amazing value for money. Would definitely stay here again. Decent size room and despite overlooking the street was quiet at night. Breakfast basic but sufficient and for the price, what could anyone really expect. Great position of the hotel in the centre of Funchal and saved the trek in from the "hotel belt"

What we expected for the price. A little run-down but clean, well-located. Staff friendly and helpful. Go somewhere else for breakfast; very poor.

As others have said, brilliant location if wanting to stay in central Funchal. So if you are seeking a sun lounger, public lounges and bar, then this is not for you. The hotel is modern and extremely clean. We had a room on 3rd floor at the back with tiny balcony but there were no views worth looking at. I understand the sea can be seen from top floor (6th). There was hardly anyone staying at the hotel so it seemed quiet - other reviewers have said it was noisy but I guess if you had a room on the front it would be. Also room doors could only be closed very loudly. The one thing that really let this hotel down was the breakfast and it would be better if they reduced the price and provide board only. It consisted of lemon or orange squash, a choice of 4 different types of rolls, sliced processed cheese and ham, jams and stewed coffee. However, there is a supermarket next door with a cafe offering cheap but excellent coffee, croissants and other pastries. Up the road opposite there also numerous small bars selling similar and a cafe selling wonderful fruit salads and juices. You should also be aware that there is nowhere to park so not the base for you if you want to hire a car. And although the booking is reserved through a credit card, the hotel does not actually accept credit or debit cards. Otherwise great value for money.

The hotel offers an excellent value for the money. It is centrally located to restaurants and shopping districts. Free wi-fi is located nearby.

Hotel in good location, fair price for the quality , but we had a triple room which was tooo small and also very dark in the daytime, having only one small window and no balcony,it was also very noisy, if we left the window open at night the sound of traffic went on all night and if we closed the window in order for the air conditioning to work that was very noisy. they have rooms with balconies and if i went again i would ask for. Apart from it is a nice friendly hotel right in the town center and near the old town

Bed was of poor quality. First room was smoky, they changed it, 2nd was fine. Should charge a bit more a give a little better breakfast. Location was excellent, but the characters hanging around outside were undersirable (however, they did not bother anyone). Hotel was also a short on things to do in the area. Overall for what you oaid and what you got, it is a good deal. We were delayed byt TAP and called the hotel to inform them that we would not be there until the second night. They insisted that we pay for that night anyway and request a refund from Venere - WE ARE SO REQUESTING!

Very nice old hotel.Staff very friendly and will accomodate you in any way possible.The location is very central within easy walking distance to the town centre.Also there are quite a few good cafes nearby.

Useful for short trips. For a longer stay the room was too small and the air condition machine outside too loud.

The location of the Hotel was convenient not in a noisy central street but very easy to reach the central.Besides a very noisy aircondition that welcome us friday afternoon and was repaired only monday morning - we can recomand this nice hotel in this beautiful place.It might be important to mention that next to the hotel is a Supermarket with a large variety of products.

The hotel has location, location, location. It is also a very nice place to stay with friendly staff, excellent rooms and generous buffet breakfast. Very highly recommended

Very good location in the centre, friendly staff. Breakfast is better than a normal continental style. I can offer it if you search for a good three star hotel.
