I was sort of disapointed when I tried to reach the ocean: it's simply not possible, even though it is really near. There are rocky cliffs all along the coast line in the area, and other hotels built on your way to the ocean. That's not this hotel's fault, but the description on the website sort of mislead me into believing that I could do it. But I had a pretty nice view from my room, though.

Hotel staff helpful and willing, but establishment very much in need of updating, while the paintwork was clean generally the bedroom & public areas very dated and in poor condition, water stains on woodwork, old upholstery. In need of a major refit, Over priced.

Hotel was excellent value for money. Plenty of parking space. However the hike up to the hotel entrance from the road is quite steep. But, hey, that's Madeira :-) Buffet breakfast was OK. But it can get busy. Live entertainment every night which we enjoyed.
