About Hotel Veramar

exterior Hotel Veramar exterior The Veramar is an intimate aparthotel constructed in 1975. Ideally situated in Fuengirola near the Castle and River Fuengirola, it is some 350 metres from the beach and 600 metres from the centre of town. It has always been very well known by its clients from different nationalities for its warm hospitality and for the kindness, helpfulness and friendliness of all its staff..

The Veramar I, was refurbished in 1988 when it was converted into a very attractive and modern "aparthotel", three-star category.

El hotel no es de lujo pero es bastante cómodo. No hay ruidos por la noche y está bastante cerca de la playa y del centro. Si pides estudio con cocina te lo dan por el mismo precio.

Overall, the price/quality combination is great. It's a decent hotel at a very good price. The good things: the rooms are actually little apartments with a full kitchen and a terrace, which is great. The location is also perfect - away from busy central streets but sufficiently close to them (and to the beach) The difficult things: the beds are atrocious - it takes 2-3 days to get used to the stiff mattreses in order to start sleeping normally. The general condition of the rooms is a bit shabby, but it's very clean, so if you can live with that, it's fine. A lot of taxi drivers don't know where exactly the hotel is (it's on a tiny street), so it helps if you have a map or can explain it. Finally, I found several members of the staff grumpy and arrogant (although most of them were very friendly).

An indication when we arrived that the rooms would not be cleaned/beds made every day would have been appreciated

we had a pleasent stay, however there was a lot of noise from the appartment above in the early hours of the morning. We have stayed at the Veramar a number of times and on each occasion we enjoyed it,sadly on this visit our beds were very uncomfortable and noisy, leading to number of sleepless nights

My only complaint is that the noise of women next door walking around disturbed me during the afternoon when I was trying to nap. I don't know if they were housekeeping people or guests. And there was no map to get there. More importantly the phone number you provided me for the hotel is incorrect. When I got to the Fuegiorola train station the ticket people didn't know of the hotel. I called the number you gave me on my email to get directions and it rang several times and disconnected. Fortunately there was an internet cafe across the street and I found the hotel's web page and the correct phone number. The desk manager was very helpful and the first cab driver I encountered outside the train station knew the hotel. The rooms are very nice. The location if fine for what you should expect in this area. I would definitely stay there again.
