We have stayed at this hotel before, so knoew what it was like. Staff helpful but didn't realise that hotel restaurant was closed on night of our stay. Didn't matter too much as staff recommended somewhere to eat. Not any easy hotel to find. Luckily local Polizei very helpful and showed us the direction. Overall comfortable and within easy walking distance of the old town.

Good facilities and a good location but the rooms are a bit small and the street outside is noisy early in the morning. Breakfasts are superb.

How to reach Stadthotel Freiburg Kolping Hotels & Resorts
By car
From the highway A5: take the Freiburg Mitte exit. Than take the federal road B31 towards the city center, Donaueschingen. Turn left, in the direction of the ADAC. Go ahead until you reach an arched bridge. On your left you will see the bus terminus and the Karlsbau am Stadtgarten, than turn right into the Karlstraße.
By train
From Freiburg ICE Railway Station: take tram line 5 or 6. Get off after three stops at the Victory Monument. Karlstraße is just 50 metres from the tram stop.
By airplane
From Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg International Airport: 40 minutes by car.
