So glad we choose to stay in Frascati rather than Rome. Wonderful to return to such a nice hotel after a long day sightseeing. Nice reasonably priced restaurants in Frascati. The hotel was everything we wanted, exceptionally clean and well presented. Breakfast was very good with fresh pastries from local deli. Only down side was the size of the shower cubicle in our room but we were probably unlucky and if we had mentioned it would probably have been able to move rooms. However we loved everything else about hotel and would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends. Not having booked using this site before we were a bit worried but all went perfect and will definitely use again.

Chose Frascati as an alternative to staying in Rome and commuted in on the train (regular service and only 30 mins duration). Well worth it for the more relaxing stay away from the hub-bub of the city with excellent wines in the region. However, not an easy walk from the station with luggage as Frascati is at several levels accessed by steps which wasn't spelt out in the directions on their website. Streets and pavements are predominantly cobbled which doesn't make it easy with heavy wheeled bags. Once you're there you can find the longer but level path to the station from the hotel. Very friendly staff who made you feel welcome. Compared to other Italian hotels we stayed at was relatively expensive for what you got, but obviously cheaper than Rome itself. Overall can recommend this hotel for your stay in Rome.

We spent 3 absolutely gorgeous days in Frascati and we pay tribute to the Hotel Colonna for being part of this enchanting stay. We really felt that everything was made to ensure that our stay was perfect. The kindness and the enthusiasm of the staff is unique ! Highly recommended !

Excellent hotel in perfect location for us ie centre of old town. Management and staff very helpful and genuinely friendly. One of the best rooms we have stayed in. A little street noise in the mornings but we expected that in the middle of a working town.Double glazing kept it to a minimum. Plenty of cafe/bars and decent restaurants in the immediate vicinity.We particularly liked Pinocchio's on Piazza del Mercato. All in all a strong recommendation for both Hotel Colonna and Frascati.

Hotel Colonna is a superior hotel in a wonderful town. The staff was not only welcoming but extremely helpful. My husband was not feeling well when we checked in and they got our room ready early just so he could take a nap. The room was very nice and the location in the heart of Frascati was ideal. The photos on the website do not accurately represent how truly lovely the rooms and lobby area are. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit!

A beautifully clean friendly hotel with very welcoming staff.Excellent location in centre of Frascati.Very comfortable bed and a large bathroom.My only two minor complaints were that there was no bar open and breakfast was rather frugal and the girl on breakfast duty was very unfriendly.However, that said I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely return.

Very nice hotel right in the center of Frascati, ideally located for a vacation in the "Castelli Romani" area -- or just to enjoy Frascati itself with its excellent food. The staff was particularly kind and ready to help, in particular handling directly the parking of the car (not a minor problem in Frascati). The room was nice and large and surprisingly quiet since the hotel is right in the center of Frascati,

Stayed at the Colonna for 3 nights over a weekend. Found it an altogether satisfactory hotel choice in a wonderful location convenient to Rome. We were looking for somewhere near Rome, without the noise and big city hassle the latter tends to entail, and chose Frascati. It is 25 mins away from Roma Termini by train; Ciampino airport (not Fiumicino) is much closer. The train service is about hourly, two hourly on Sundays. Frascati turned out to be much more than we had expected, a charming hillside town in its own right and good for a wander around. Excellent convenience to Rome and, as an upscale suburb, we didn´t have the same concern about safeguarding our possessions as we have in Rome´s streets. And of course there is the wonderful Frascati wine in plentiful supply. The Colonna is located in the centre of town near the pictured church, just off the main piazza. Though only about 300m from the station it was a bit of an uphill hike to the piazza, with lots of stairs. However once we got there we found the hotel quite satisfactory - comfortable and quiet room, friendly and good service, and good location with plenty of osteria close by and shops for browsing. We paid €130 per night room and breakfast and overall we considered it good value; we considerably doubt we could get anything like as good the same price in Rome. Don´t know if other hotels may have been better but Frascati was great and well worth sampling.

Room was great. Owner of hotel was rude and insulting. Lied about availability of room for our friends that wanted to stay an extra night after their reservation was incorrect. Tried to move them to a small smokey room so his friend could have their room. Finally got the real story. RUDE RUDE RUDE

The hotel was lovely. We stayed there on a recommendation from friends and it was all we expected. The staff arranged for a driver for us who spoke very good English and was extremely knowledgable of the area. Very pleasant stay.

I would have given top score if the night porter have had the skill to turn off the blocking of the air conditioning. The A.C. was blocked due to a complaint from the previous guest. We had to sleep with the balcony door open and was exposed to noise from the square outside. But the hotel was excellent.

The hotel was quite nice to stay in, with a very helpful staff and convenient location (train station to Rome just over 5 minutes' walk). If by car, staff takes care of parking, just remember to tell them in advance when you need it. Restaurants nearby are plentiful and variedly priced.

I'm from Rome, I often went to Frascati and I've seen many times that nice corner so I've decided to stay there for a holiday week-end. I also work in tourism and I know how poor the standard of accommodation is in Italy in many cases. At The Colonna I've found a warm welcome, a beautiful large room tastefully furnished, excellent service. What I noticed and I liked was a careful attention to details. Everything can be just described as Perfect.

Unfortunately, i can't open the windows as the room gave on a small back court with sight on the close apartments, the sounds and the odors. On the other hand, it reigned a relatively quiet atmosphere disturbed only around 6.30am by the cleaning service that starts to open and close the doors just close to my room, etc.

Easily the best hotel of our trip in Italy. Great location, lovely facilities, spacious room - very tastefully decorated with modern amenities. The staff was also the most welcoming of all the hotels we stayed in. The single person at the desk drew a map of the surroundings for us to help us find the restaurant he recommended for dinner, and drew one again the morning we were leaving (at 4;30 am) to direct our drive out of town to the annulare and to the airport. The roads in town are rather confusing to a visitor and the directions were valuable to us. Service was A1 - the best we have ever experienced anywhere; the room was the best hotel room of our italy trip. We WILL go back We are recommending it to everyone.

This was our second trip to Italy and we tried to save on hotels due to the price of the Euro. We were pleasantly surprised by the Colonna in Frascati. It was very easy to find. All you had to do was follow the signs once you got into the town. GianFranco greeted us at the door and immediately assisted us with all of our luggage and parked the car for us. The lobby is gorgeous and they had a great deal of literature about the town and surrounding areas at hand. The room was beautiful and nicely decorated and the bathroom was the same. There were a number of lovely original prints and painting in the room and corridors. If there was a complaint it would be that there was no elevator because I am handicapped but the one flight up was not really difficult. The bidet made a dripping sound but closing the bathroom door solved that problem and if you did not run the air-conditioner, the room had a cigarette smoke odor. These were minor problems and overall, out of the two weeks we spent in 8 different places, the Colonna rated 2nd. Great choice and Frascasti is a wonderful town, with few tourists.

We found the hotel very clean and comfortable and the staff friendly, helpful and thoughtful without being intrusive. On first arriving in frascati in our hire car it seemed that it would be impossible to park, but no problem, simply pull up immediately outside the hotel, unload and leave the keys with the front desk who whisk the car away to their private garage and return it whenever needed.
