The Ritter hotel is located in the heart of Frankfurt's historical Alt Sachsenhausen district, the oldest and most beautiful part of the city, which survived the bombings during World War II.
Due to its convenient location, just a short walk from the business district and shops and thanks to its excellent connection to the public transportation system, you may reach any part of the city in a matter of minutes.
The hotel, built in the 17th century and completely refurbished in 2005, disposes of modern single and double rooms. You will enjoy cosy home from home atmosphere during your stay.

Cheap and well located, but you get what you pay for: 35 Euro/night in Frankfurt, you can't beat that. I saw all the warnings against this place, but as with another reviewer, I came in with low expectations and left happy. The Irish pub out my window was a bit loud, but the crowd dissipated fairly quickly.

The owner is unfriendly and unhelpful to find a parking location. He will send you around in Frankfurt and doesn't care how you find your way back to the hotel. The room was okay - just that the wallpaper on the ceiling was hanging down - from a water damage!! NASTY!! Showering did wet the whole floor in the bathroom - slipping danger!! Then in the morning (we had to leave before 7 am) the door was locked and nobody to be found to open the door. I had to call the hotel to make somebody show up to unlock the door for us. Overall the stay in this hotel was a wasting of time, money and nerves!! NEVER AGAIN!!

1. Hotel is located in all night party district of the Frankfurt. Bars (which were all arround the hotel) stay open all night, play loud music and of course drunk patrons were always loud, so it was simply IMPOSSIBLE to get ANY sleep. Do not expect to get some sleep in the mornings either, as trash trucks drive around. 2. Cleanliness: it smelt full of alcohol and cigarettes (we booked non smoking room). Shower curtain was disgusting with many dark muddy substance all over and towels were dark and rough textured that you'd have to guess they were white and soft once. 3. Staff: aside the unhelpful stone faced asian receptionist (who, by the way will flat out lie that party is only in the weekends.. blah blah blah) speaks some English, there were some russian whiny lady and an old guy. All were unprofessional, unfriendly and unhelpful. After 2 nights of sleeplessness (because of the nightly partying that surrounds the hotel) and no room cleaning, without even towel changing I requested fresh towels and the old russian dude gave me bed linen and motioned me to wrap my body with it! It was rated as 3 star hotel on Venere, however it wasn;t even a 1 star level. Simply, it was the worst hotel experience I ever had!!!

The hotel is small and lovely renovated, situated on the pedestrian zone, surrounded by pubs and bars. The Frankfurt old town is across the river, 15 min by foot. The area is nice but noisy until morning because of the very intensive nightlife in the near. At the moment, neighbouring houses and streets are under construction, so the area is noisy also early in the morning. Ask for a room that faces the courtyard. The hotel stuff is obvisously Russian and only some of them can speak English. Their German is also mostly quite poor. They are helpful, but persist asking guests to pay in cash immediately after arrival. The breakfast is not very rich, but complex and sufficient. The rooms are clean, but during my stay (3 days), they were not cleaned and towels not changed, which was disturbing. There is no garage or private parking in the near. If you are lucky you can get a parking space on the road (1 EUR/30 min).

The problem is that there is no elevator in this hotel. The surrounding was very crowed but it is famous pub area, so its evaluation depends on each individual.

I couldn't sleep at the hotel, because of the room it was given to me!! Room 303!!! UNACCAPTABLE!!!! 3rd floor / no lift / narrow winding stairs / no light at the last floor: I had to walk with a firelight in my hand / room with a transparent glass door!!!! Right opposite to the glass door there was the bathroom!!!!!!!!! I've asked for another room, but the hotel seems to be full booked, so I went and look for another hotel!!! I was very disappointed!!! I didn't see any other rooms, but room 303 DOES NOT CORRESPOND to a 3 stars hotel!!!!!! My credit card was charged of the total amount for the all stay (3 nights)!!! We are now starting a legal procedure to have a repayment... Very disappointed about this!!!

Spent 1 night at this hotel and I found that the neighbourhood is perfect if you are going on holidays with someone else, and that the building is very nice, at least if you are at the third floor (as I was). But it is not very comfortable, specially the bathroom. So I think I am going to try some other hotels before thinking of going to this one again.

The rooms are very noisy. There is a club in the basement of the hotel that starts loud music at 10 pm which continues all night until 5 am. At 7 am constuction begins in the street outside. Also there were mice in the room.
