On arrival at 03.00am we were allocated a room which was already occupied, and when we went back to reception the receptionist didn't believe us, and trailed us back to the same room. When he opened the door, as we had already done, he seemed almost as startled as we were to hear a man snoring like a volcano! Lucky he was, otherwise we would have switched the light on and thrown our suitcases on to the bed! We were told the cleaners must have left it open and he had wandered in by mistake, probably drunk. Clearly unlikely, and it was a bit concerning that the door pass system doesn't seem to be operating correctly and therefore the rooms are not secure. We spent our two evenings in the hotel bar after eating out elsewhere, and were served by the most disagreeable barmaid who was clearly in the wrong job. When we attempted to get her attention she tried to ignore us, but when other patrons alerted her to our polite but eventually quite loud, calls for attention, she served us by scowling and slamming our drinks down in front of us. On checking out we were charged for breakfast which we didn't have, and the receptionsit insited that we had indicated on arrival that we would take breakfast. Luckily I ticked the "not required" box on the arrival card. Perhaps we were unfortunate, but all the staff we encountered did not seem to be interested in customer care. However the hotel facilites, cleanliness and surrounding were excellent, and I'd still highly recommend the hotel for value for money, despite the staff.

10 min walk to the Roma, which is fine unless you twisted your ankle before you arrived. Which I had and found no direct transport to Roma from the htoal. That said, the staff were great and not only offered to drive us any where, but also got cryo-vac'd (sealed bags) of ice for my ankle each night. Great stay with great staff.
