Hotel Rossija - Frankfurt

I was traveling with my wife for a weekend away at the christmas markets, the hotel was in a really dodgy area, dirty and shabby. the hotel was really dirty, the carpets were filthy in the bedrooms, they smelled bad and the noise at night was terrible, only 2 good points about this hotel are, it was warm enough and the breakfast was good, apart from this i would not recommend staying at this hotel unless you are on a really tight budget (stay away)

The hotel is ok but it's located in a poor area with a lot of night clubs (prostitutes) and bad people running around.

Good hotel centrally located near the train station. Close to everything, entertainment centers. Friendly staff.

Good hotel, 20 min. walk to city center, clean, kind russian employees, unfortunatelly not good surroundings for family ( sex clubs and casinos ). If you are not with your child i don't see any impediment in booking this hotel.

Proprietors are very nice, but that didn't make up for the horrible location (among hookers, drug addicts carrying needles out in the open, drunks, sex shops, strip clubs, and street fights), and general uncleanliness and disrepair of the property. We called for directions from the train station but the owner/desk clerk didn't speak English and couldn't help us. Even after getting directions from businesses close by, it was difficult to find (easier if you're on the other side of the street - then you can actually see the sign). Elevator only goes to the 4th floor, so for our room on the 5th floor, we had to carry our heavy bags upstairs. Rooms in back overlook an alley full of trash. It was noisy at night from surrounding activity. Mattresses are so old, you can feel each coil of the springs. We had to run water for 3-4 minutes for it to get hot, and for all the rust to run out of the pipes. The only redeeming point of the experience was the nice proprietors - the hotel is just in a bad location and seriously in need of renovation.

I was extremely pleased with the quality, cleanliness, quietness & security (in an off-street gated courtyard) right in the middle of Frankfurt's redlight district, very conveniently close to the Hauptbahnhof (only about 2 blocks). I had worried it might not be a very good place to stay because of its location in the redlight district, but the hotel itself was one of the cleanest & nicest for the money I have ever stayed at, anywhere in the world, & my wife & I have traveled extensively in 4 continents.

The hotel is relatively quite and nice even if situated in the red-light district of the city. Anyway was enough secure. But it is better for young couples or singles. Not for families. The rooms were clean and the employees kind and helpful. Just we wanted a non smoking room but we had a smoking one. Anyway was clean. It is situated very close to main railway station and so very comfortable for traveling throw the city.

I spent only one night in the Rossija. The neighborhood is a bit ratty, but the hotel itself was clean and very inexpensive. I paid more for taxis to and from the airport than I spent on the room. This hotel is a good choice for the traveler on a tight budget.

Near this hotel there are a lot of sex shops. So I can't recommand it to families with children. But I am satisfied with it because the employeers are very kind and because the prise is very reasonable. I would like to stay there again.

Room was nice, staff great. Hotel was located in the red-light district, however other than having to walk through that to access hotel, it didn't impact on our stay. Close to Main train station, and walking distance to town.

I have visited messe for three days but stayed in hotel for a day i like the hotel but for the second night they are charging three times the cost coated by ur web site so over all my experience was bad about the hotel and its coperation .

I am from Australia and an experienced traveller.I have been to Frankfurt-am-Main once previously in May 2008, staying at another hotel. At Rossija hotel the breakfast has good variety of food. The Rossija hotel location is close (4 to 5 min. walk) to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, and therefore easy train access to Frankfurt airport. My only negative comment about Rossija is the map provided on internet is misleading and signage for hotel in Moselstrasse is not clear. Maybe when building works are completed in vicinity of Rossija hotel proper signs will direct guests off Moselstrasse into the courtyard area. I recommend Rossija hotel to all reasonable travellers.

Despite a not particularly nice location, the hotel was quite OK. access to the main train station was excellent, although map a bit misleading. Only negative was the somewhat unpredictable toilet.
