Hotel Il Gattopardo - Forio d'Ischia, Ischia

Hotel fantastico per le piscine termali esterne, l'idromassaggio, la vista sul mare e la possibilità di lasciarsi coccolare da massaggi e trattamenti personalizzati. L'unico neo è stata la camera poco spaziosa e non pulitissima, ma tuttavia molto silenziosa in quanto affacciava sul vigneto ed era dotata di un piccolo patio con tavolino e sedie. Dall'hotel si arriva al centro di Forio in 10 minuti a piedi, attraversando il vigneto e prendendo una scorciatoia (in discesa e, al ritorno... in salita!). La spiaggia si raggiunge in 5 minuti tramite una scalinata che porta giù al mare. Mare pulitissimo e prezzi modici per i ristorantini sul mare. In hotel, cibo buono con ricco buffet di verdure a cena e pesce sempre fresco.

Very good experience

Accueil très chaleureux. Personnel sympathique et disponible. Ambiance conviviale et très agréable. Des espaces communs très vastes, bien aménagés et bien entretenus (belles piscines très propres, nombreux matelas et parasols, zones ombragées par des oliviers, terrasses ensoleillées avec vue magnifique sur la mer). Un peu loin des plages et du centre de la ville si on ne possède pas de véhicule (ce qui n'était pas notre cas) mais il y a de nombreux transports en commun sur l'ile. Nourriture variée et copieuse (buffet pour le petit-déjeuner et pour les repas en plus du menu).

This was a great retreat to get away from visiting busy cities. We only stayed 2 days, but I would recommend buying a spa package, making your spa appointments in advance, and staying 4 to 7 days to relax. We had not realized that the spa is small and you really do need to book appointments in advance. The food was tolerable but not excellent. I would suggest only getting half-board, if that, and discovering better restaurants on the island. The staff did not did not all speak English; your stay will be more enjoyable if you can speak a bit of basic Italian. The beach nearby is a sandy and only a 5 minute walk downhill from the hotel.

I was not impressed with this hotel at all. The receptionists were not friendly at all and the doors to the room we stayed in were barely secure when we locked them. It was a long walk up a hill to the hotel from the street and then another long walk down a steep staircase to go to the rocky beach after you walked the long hill from the hotel. This hotel would be good if you were an old couple who was not looking to do anything but stay in the hotel vicinity (there were alot of older couples there) I recommend staying more in town or by Castello Aragonese if you want to venture.

A wonderful experience with first class service and a convivial staff - especially in the dining room. Excellent meals as well as a fine range of mostly loal wines. Would recommend it to anyone.

Relaxing holiday, suitable for families

I hope they paid their photographer well because his photographs of this resort-style hotel made it seem far more alluring than it in fact was. Add in the smell in our hallway, some unhelpful if not slightly rude employees, flies in the lobby and altogether our expectations were not quite met. The beach which is nearby is quite beautiful however, and the hotel is within walking distance to town. They have an array of spa services which we skipped in favor of going to the luxurious thermal baths at Negombo. Il Gattopardo seems a german resort trap--that wasn't exactly what we were hoping for.

L'albergo e' molto bello ma la camera era molto piccola e proprio sopra la cucina del ristorante. il prezzo pagato e' stato inferiore a quello di listino quindi la camera era proporzionata al costo.

Nice quiet friendly hotel but the rooms were very small. Management were a little stuffy but Salvatore the barman was wonderful! We stayed on the half board package and the food in the restaurant was very good indeed.
