A slight problem at check in but well rectified with a room upgrade and meals to compensate for having to wait. Room a bit " dusty" but clean comfortable bed. Some noise fron Disco at weekend. Rather hectic downstairs with large groups of pensioner coach trips but the " premier restaurant " was fine with reasonable food for a buffet. I would be quite happy to stay there again but would definitely book the upgrade.

We could not use the shower as only the hot water supply was available and we would have been scalded. The cold tap on the basin produced only a drip and we used bottled water to clean our teeth. We called reception & asked for someone to repair the shower but the staff member who arrived was not qualified to do it. We asked to speak to the manager but he or she was not available. We repeated the request in the morning but the shower was not repaired & no manager was available to speak to us! I would not recommend this hotel. Being able to get a wash after a five hour journey is a pretty basic requirement. It wasn't met. The room was not fit for purpose. Also having no manager available both morning & night is unacceptable!

We wanted a quiet hotel for an overnight stay before travelling to france. Your hotel made a lot of noise about being close to the channel tunnel, the only thing it omitted was the amount of noise we would experience in staying with you. Very poorly advertised, and mis leading.

On arrival it was discovered that the hotel had no record of our reservation, luckily there was a room available that we could use however it was small, cramped and had a distinct musty smell to it. we arrived after a long drive, late in the evening and then discovered that the restaurant was shutting at 8:30, so we hurridely made our way there, only to find that we would be required to pay for our meal before we even got to sit down, we asked the front desk if there was anywhere in town but they were dismissive and of little help, seeing as we had a 5 month old with us we braved the hotel fare, I would not go back for seconds. We had some hopes on breakfast the following morning however again it was way below what you would expect from a hotel of this class. They have a very specific market in the town, single night stays while waiting on a ferry or train to France, as a result the quality and attention to detail is not evident, I would not stay here again.

For the purpose of our visit we found that it was good.if we were going purely for a relaxing weekend, the leisure areas needed to be improved upon and also the standard of the food was very cafe type.but as inclusive and very cheap was acceptable, wolud prefer a choice of inclusive of dinner or not, and could have then eaten out.rooms comforable for the price, needed upgrading, fixing but yet again, price reflected this.

We booked a two night stay in the Grand Hotel, Folkestone over Bank Holiday Monday through your agency. The reservation confirmation gave the hotel details as Grand Hotel, The Leas, Folkestone, CT20 2XL. Entering Folkestone from the M20 we followed the brown tourist signs to the Leas (which also carried a hotel bed symbol) and thus arrived outside the Grand Hotel. Much embarrassment, frustration, annoyance and inconvenience esued in discovering that we were actually booked into the Grand Hotel Burstin, The Harbour, Folkestone, CT20 1QQ a totally different hotel. We are sure that you will want to ensure that future guests booking this hotel through venere.com do not suffer such embarrassment and inconvenience. As for us, an apology would be welcome at the very least.
