Never again, staff rude room according to there standards was an executive one (iron and hair dryer provided) small, poky, telly too small, carpet dirty ,furniture dated and bed uncomfortable , food smells wafting around corridors. Much more wrong not enough space and this was in the "new build" can only guess what the old was like.

The Burstin is shaped like an ocean liner. We were placed in steerage. The view from the basement room was of a wall 60cm from the window and then a skip. The room itself was fine apart from a leaking toilet cistern. Food was fine as were public areas of the hotel. It all looked a little tired though. Lines in the car park were worn away and all had parked like they stole it. Finding a space was very difficult and most cars did not display a permit.

We stay at the Burstin because close friends live nearby. The location is great, parking is on site. The food is good. What more could you desire?

Hotel in central location but the area is more run down than I remember, possibly the Seacat leaving. The hotel and it's staff were welcoming and my child was also made welcome despite the general age of guests being quite elderly but the children were not frowned upon. Hotel needs a bit of a spruce up in it's public area as does Folkestone but we were able to relax and enjoyed our stay

Would never go back....old style 1950's syle Hotel now needing massive overhaul to bring it into the 20th century. Mostly coach older retired tourists clogging the place up! Lifts and public places have odd typed notices crudely stuck to walls etc. Rooms at the front face noise with many trucks coming offf the ferry at Dover parking up nearby for the night. This then commences again at 6.00am with trcks leaving in the morning. Hotel feels like one step from the grave! Very dissapointing!

I love The Burstin for value for money, the evening entertainment, non stop from 8pm. 30 mins Bingo, Almost an hour live band, another 30 mins. Bingo, show case cabaret till 10 30pm, then music till late. Seem to meet like minded people. Have made long standing friends there. Breakfast and dinner ok for what we pay. Great fish shop right near hotel, and kebab shop is very very good.

I stayed in a standard double room for four nights. Basic but well worth the money with a nice breakfast in the morning. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will definately be going back in the summer.

Staff were rude, arrogant and had a I dont care less attitude. Staff were all discussing their personal lives whilst checking in guests. The room overlooked rubbish, etc dirty mattresses outside and smelt of damp and the toilet smelt disgusting. I could hear every word the occupants next door were saying, and their toilet activities - charming!!. I would never stay again and will make sure everyone i know wont either. We were only staying two nights but checked out after the first night as I couldnt bare to stay any longer. When I checked out the receptionist said just "Okay". Sooooo unprofessional.

The rooms were a bit all fashioned. Shower was broke and taps not working properly. Breakfast was ok, nothing great. Good hotel for a short stay, a place to put your head down.

a slight problem at check in but well rectified with a room upgrade and meals to compensate for having to wait. Room a bit " dusty" but clean comfortable bed. Some noise fron Disco at weekend. Rather hectic downstairs with large groups of pensioner coach trips but the " premier restaurant " was fine with reasonable food for a buffet. I would be quite happy to stay there again but would definitely book the upgrade.

We could not use the shower as only the hot water supply was available and we would have been scalded. The cold tap on the basin produced only a drip and we used bottled water to clean our teeth. We called reception & asked for someone to repair the shower but the staff member who arrived was not qualified to do it. We asked to speak to the manager but he or she was not available. We repeated the request in the morning but the shower was not repaired & no manager was available to speak to us! I would not recommend this hotel. Being able to get a wash after a five hour journey is a pretty basic requirement. It wasn't met. The room was not fit for purpose. Also having no manager available both morning & night is unacceptable!

We wanted a quiet hotel for an overnight stay before travelling to france. Your hotel made a lot of noise about being close to the channel tunnel, the only thing it omitted was the amount of noise we would experience in staying with you. Very poorly advertised, and mis leading.

On arrival it was discovered that the hotel had no record of our reservation, luckily there was a room available that we could use however it was small, cramped and had a distinct musty smell to it. we arrived after a long drive, late in the evening and then discovered that the restaurant was shutting at 8:30, so we hurridely made our way there, only to find that we would be required to pay for our meal before we even got to sit down, we asked the front desk if there was anywhere in town but they were dismissive and of little help, seeing as we had a 5 month old with us we braved the hotel fare, I would not go back for seconds. We had some hopes on breakfast the following morning however again it was way below what you would expect from a hotel of this class. They have a very specific market in the town, single night stays while waiting on a ferry or train to France, as a result the quality and attention to detail is not evident, I would not stay here again.

for the purpose of our visit we found that it was good.if we were going purely for a relaxing weekend, the leisure areas needed to be improved upon and also the standard of the food was very cafe type.but as inclusive and very cheap was acceptable, wolud prefer a choice of inclusive of dinner or not, and could have then eaten out.rooms comforable for the price, needed upgrading, fixing but yet again, price reflected this.

We booked a two night stay in the Grand Hotel, Folkestone over Bank Holiday Monday through your agency. The reservation confirmation gave the hotel details as Grand Hotel, The Leas, Folkestone, CT20 2XL. Entering Folkestone from the M20 we followed the brown tourist signs to the Leas (which also carried a hotel bed symbol) and thus arrived outside the Grand Hotel. Much embarrassment, frustration, annoyance and inconvenience esued in discovering that we were actually booked into the Grand Hotel Burstin, The Harbour, Folkestone, CT20 1QQ a totally different hotel. We are sure that you will want to ensure that future guests booking this hotel through venere.com do not suffer such embarrassment and inconvenience. As for us, an apology would be welcome at the very least.
