The room is very small. But it's located in front of Ponte Vecchio, so it's really practical for tourism. And the view from the terrace on the 6th Floor is really nice. You can have breakfast or tea there. But the breakfast is not that good.

The hotel is a very charming facility with a great look over the city from the terrace on the roof, the service friendly and "italian style" welcoming in all aspects. The minus: for hosting the car in the recommended garage you have to pay 40 euro a day- even when you stay just the last day until noon. That means a third of the room rent you have to pay additional for the car- a bit to high I think

What a superb location. No chance of any parking but you are able to walk everywhere in a few minuts. You fall out of the front door onto the Ponte Vecchio. Pleasant rooms if a little small but nicely done and small but perfectly formed bathroom that is strictly one person at a time. Nice roof terrace for the usual reasonable continental breakfast buffet. A great place to use as a base for the Uffizi and historical Florence. After our three days we were glad to escape to a delicious five star villa out of town for a calm down and a pool but we enjoyed our stay here in the heart of everything.

We were more than happy with our short stay at the Vivahotel. All round excellent accommodation, service, staff and breakfast. Position of the hotel provided easy access to the city and sights. Great night time atmosphere. Made to feel very welcome. Very clean and tidy. Would come back again.

Excellent location right by Ponte Vecchio and convenient for Boboli Gardens if you're going to the opera. Room was clean and perfectly adequate for a short stay, breakfast room terrace has a great view over the Florence skyline.

We stayed 2 nights in the hotel. The rooms are very small but ok. The location of the hotel is fantastic as it is only 5metres from the Ponte Vecchio. However, service is not that good. According to the menu they offer room service till late in the evening. When I asked for it at 8pm they said that the kitchen is already closed and they were not very service-oriented.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is conveniently located beside the famous bridge, Pont Vecchio, within 2 minutes walk to Uffizi gallary, 3 minutes to the entrance of Pitti Palace, less than 1 minute to many restaurants and cafes. You may also walk to the main train station in 15 to 20 min. You can basically walk to almost all places that you would like to visit as a tourist. But, the streets are busy with tourists from 7 am to close to midnight. I tried to go jogging along the river, but it was almost impossible because of so many people. The hotel has a beautiful terrace for the breakfast to view the town. Our room was on the 5th floor and we could hear the move of tables and chairs from 6:30 am on. If you would like to have a quiet peaceful hotel, this is not the hotel.

My en suite single room was a reasonable size with shower over a bath which gave more room than a conventional small shower cubicle. There was a slight smell of drains in the bathroom but you often can't avoid this in an ancient city like Florence. Breakfast, to a good standard is on the 6th floor in the restaraunt and open air terrace room.Unfortunately the lift is very small for this size of hotel which meant lengthy waits, though not too bad if your room is on the third floor as mine was. Location of the hotel is quite good and close to most of the principal tourist sights.

Generally excellent hotel, good breakfast and great location. My only criticisms are regarding space. I know single rooms are always small but these were triangular. The tiny triangular wardrobe was useless and I had to put my case (where I kept most of my clothes) on the bed to open it. The bathroom was nice but cramped so I needed to come into the room to dry myself. As a change from going into the centre, when exiting the hotel's main door, turn right and walk along the Arno. THen head inwards and upward to Piazzale Michelangelo. There are some good places to eat and have a glass of wine on the way near the old city gate.

Arrived by car, staff was very helpful in unloading, and also registering the licence plate with local authorities due to hotel location, a restricted traffic access area. Location great, right at the Ponte Vecchio. We had a junior suite, very spacious. As anywhere in a city, there is city noise which you can hear in your room, too. Rooftop terrace is very nice. We used the terrace bar and also had dinner there twice. Very nice and friendly staff at the restaurant. Would go back again to this hotel.

Although the Ponte Vecchio seems unfortunately to have become the major attraction in Florence and is usually heaving, the hotel is an oasis of calm, with professional service and clean, good quality accommodation. The bed and bathrooms are on the small side but perfectly adequate. The location is excellent for access to all the major attractions and the view from the rooftop terrace is something not many Florence hotels can match.

Very good location, literally a few yards from the ponte vecchio. Spotlessly clean. Good reliable plumbing. Decent sized rooms. Quiet at night. Generous buffet breakfast with plenty of variety. Fresh coffee on request. Particularly friendly and efficient breakfast staff who even remembered I like a dopio expresso in the morning. Helpful female staff on reception who helped me with printing my return boarding pass. Very near a good selection of restaurants. The nearby Bordino is an excellent value budget option.

Very well located hotel. Nice clean comfortable room. Had to use stairs all the time as one lift wasn't adequate for the whole building. Reception staff somewhat unfriendly. Dining room staff very pleasant. Would recommend to others.

We stayed at Pitti Palace al Ponte Vecchio for 4 nights in October 2007. Our hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had room 319, a junior suite, excellent value, especially for pricey Italy. Breakfasts were excellent;lots of variety-cereal, juice yougurt, fresh whole fruits, cheese and cold meats and endless serve yourself coffee and hot milk. The breakfast room is sunny and bright and has a great view. Service at the front desk and in the breakfast room was professional and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is close to the sites, shopping and restaurants. If you get a chance, do the Orignial Walking Tour of Florence. ( not associated with the hotel, but an outstanding tour company. We did 3 of their tours.)

Right on the Ponte Vecchio. Could not be closer. Near the Piti Palace and Uffizzi. Fantastic location. Wonderful people, very helpful in every way. Great breakfast on the roof top that was included in the price. NO Internet. Very clean. Has great view from sixth floor roof top. Would stay there again in a heartbeat! Highly recomend.

Great location, clean and prefessonial hotel. Great bar/restaurant on the 6th floor with a view of the Duomo. Internet was down for the duration of the stay, could hear nosiy Americans next door, was charged more than had been quoted on Venere.com. Bathroom was that small I could brush my teeth in the basin while sitting on the throne...

What a superb location for a hotel! Right at the end of the Ponte Vecchio. Our Superior Double room provided a cool retreat from the bustle of Florence in August, with excellent facilities and a contemporary feel. The experience was further enhanced by an substantial breakfast each morning on the roof-top terrace - affording great views of the city. Altogether a most relaxing and enjoyable three-day stay.

The Receptionist was very professional, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast maitre d' and staff were also extremely professional and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Bathroom was not large but perfectly formed. The location was perfect, couldn't be more central to all the sights. The view from the terrasse extremely pleasant to sit and enjoy a drink or meal in the evening. Yes, this was the first time we stayed at Hotel Vivahotel Pitti Palace al Ponte Vecchio; it was the best hotel we stayed in Italy during a one month trip. There was only a street view from the window of our room but who would stay inside when in Florence!

The breakfast room/bar was well situated on top floor with wonderful views across Florence to Duomo, etc. The service at bar/breakfast was very friendly and helpful. We stayed one week in Florence and were very happy with the Pitti Palace in all respects, especially its closeness to central Florence which allowed us to walk to all the places of interest and to return frequently during the day for a rest. The room was clean and comfortable, if not very spacious, but adequate as a base for a busy week sightseeing in Florence

The hotel is incredibily close to the Ponte Vecchio, not even 20meters from the end of the bridge. It has a very nice bar upstairs, which is also where you take breakfast, with a very nice view. We were driving into Florence and it took us more than 1 hour to get to the hotel, and ended up parking about 10 blocks away as the parking next to the hotel was busy. If you are driving into Florence, watch-out for traffic restrictions into the center, you might get a fine if you get into the city after 8 or 9am until 7 or 8pm.

We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to their suite, which is beautifully set on the 7th floor with a terrific view of Florence! If you can arrange for it, it is worth it! We spent the evenings on the terrace with a seranade from the musicians playing on Ponte Vecchio! The room was cleaned daily, and we did not want for anything. The breakfast buffet was great for Italy, with fresh pastries, meats and fruits in addition to cold cereals. The location allows you to walk to the main attractions easily, and close enough to come back for a rest midday...while getting away from the noise of the center. We were delighted with our choice and would highly recommend this hotel!

Great location!!! I have been to Florence several times and never stayed at the same place and I must say that this was my best hotel experience in the city. Great location, clean, good service. You can't use USA standards to rate a hotel in a city like Florence. If you can't handle a little noise or an old building don't stay there. If you want to enjoy the city and have a clean, safe, assessable hotel then you can't go wrong with the Piti Palace.

First impression was a little shock as we expected an old palace, but not a narrow poorely restored building. Then you realise that the main thing - is its location - after all the day walking you need just a quite room and a fantastic view from the roof for breakfast before going to another museum. I suggest it is better stay in the suite on the top floor in order not to leave the room at all :))

Excellent location at one end of Ponte Vecchio. Nice view from terraces, but could be nicer if the quality of the breakfast would be better (It may be standard to get no Capuccino for breakfast, but why should one pay 20 EUR for breakfast, if the next bar 5m from the hotel offers all you need for less than half of this price).

The hotel is near the Academia and is very good for visiting all the main art galleries. Its withing walking distance of the station but you need a map (as always in Venice). There are good places to eat quite close and its about 2 minutes walk to the boat stop. It is very convenient and we will stay there again

We really enjoyed the night that we spent. It was our first night in Italy and the location of the hotel was perfect, we stepped out of our hotel and we were at the Ponte Vecchio. All in all it was fine. If I was pushed for a comment, I would mention that I think the maids should not clean a room until the occupants have left for the day. We returned to our room from breakfast to find a maid cleaning. Nothing wrong with that except that she continued to clean whilst we tried to get ready to go out - to put it bluntly, we were effectively prevented from using the loo. That said, we would certainly return to the Pitti Palace.

perfect location in the center near ponte vecchio, not easy to reach by car because of one way system, free parking outside of the town walls possible, otherways expencive in garages (30 euro/night)delicious breakfast on the 6th floor with beautiful view over the city, our room was rather small and furnished loveless (neon light!) restaurant and cleaning personell friendly, front office personell partly not too friendly, could show more amusement at work, as a whole a good adress to spend some days in the center of the city.

We were in Italy for 1 month, stayed at 8 different hotels and the Pitti Palace is the only one we were disappointed with. The room was very small, and although the web page said it was soundproof, we were kept awake every night. We also felt as Americans that we were treated with a forced politeness, while we observed the European guests treated with sincere warmth. We were very disappointed.
